The trouble with football fans predicting the teams to be relegated is that we all suffer from historical bias. "Everton never get relegated" so they can't this year. "Norwich are the definition of a yo yo team" so they will go down this season. This year could be different. I have more confidence in a team managed by Sean Dyche or Dean Smith escaping a dog fight relegation battle than a team managed by Lampard or Bielsa. Lampard has never been in a relegation battle. Bielsa seems wedded to an out of date football style that is not suited to a dog fight.

I put something on the West Ham cup thread a few days ago but at the risk of repeating myself: Everton are 10/1 to win the FA cup. We are 25/1. Now I am not saying that we are going definitely to win the cup. West ham could beat us in the next round. We could get drawn at Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea in the 6th round even if we beat West Ham. BUT In our current form we could beat anyone . Does anyone agree with me that the bookies have got it wrong and that we are a seriously good bet at 25/1 for the cup?

Can I just remind everyone. Its Everton. Adrian Heath. Need I say anymore? If we can contribute to their relegation this season by beating them I will be very happy. Where is John Bailey???

When we played Spurs last week the missus and I commented that it would be difficult to tell the teams apart if we only had black and white tv.

The teleprinter was great when we played away from home and the last score update had shown that we had taken the lead. You were waiting for the home team's score to appear whilst praying that they hadn't scored. It may have only taken seconds to type a name but sometimes that seemed like hours.

May I be the first to point out that we are currently 25to1 to win the fa cup. (Bet 365) After our performance last night, our record this season against Man City and our showings against Chelsea I don't think that we should fear anybody. I am not saying that we are going to win the trophy but we are not the outsiders that 25 to 1 would imply.

My 92 year old father in law nearly fell victim to a scam. Fortunately he still had the nous to confirm with his bank that there was no problem with his account and that he need not give his money to the friendly courier who was coming to collect it. I have several "warrants out for my arrest" from the Inland Revenue (note the American phraseology). There are countless parcels of mine waiting to be delivered if I only pay a surcharge. Several energy companies want my bank details to pay me a refund which is very nice of them as I don't even use them. I suspect that I am not the only person who recently has been bombarded by fraudsters. It doesn't matter though as according to this government fraud is not to be included in crime figures. Real crimes are things like burgulary for which the figures are going down - perhsps because so many people are staying at home. This lot really are clueless.

Conservative MP Mark Jenkinson reckons that breaking Covid rules is like parking on a double yellow line! Jesus wept! I would ask "where do the Conservatives find these people to become MPs" but in his case it is apparent. UKIP. The MP in question founded his local UKIP branch and was their candidate in 2015. The UKIP infiltration of the Tory party is doing the Conservative brand no favours. Hopefully one day it will be readdressed. Jenkinson represents Workington so with a bit of luck this will be a red wall seat that changes MP at the next opportunity.
