The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Tamesaint replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
Rees Mogg is one of the worst sort of politicians. He cultivates an image of someone stuck in the 19th century and presumably his constituents like it. He is a really evil cunt and when pressed his mask drops. He was one of the protagonists behind the illegal proroguing of parliament // lying to the Queen fiasco. His love of imperial measures rather than metric does not help British exporters in the 21st century..The way he moved his hedge fund to Dublin once his much cherished Brexit was achieved demonstrated his duplicity. The fact that he is often wheeled out to support Johnson when he is under pressure (remember his dissing of the Scottish leader) and his dismissal of Partygate as a pieced of fluff demonstrates that he is one of the Tories who, if there is any justice in this world, will lose his seat at the next election. -

He avoided scrutiny at the General Election by being evasive. He didn't take part in debates, made himself unavailable for interviews and even hid in a fridge to avoid journalists. His much postponed trip to India is another attempt at evasion. This time however it has not worked for him. Whilst he was looking a right clown dressing up in a turban in India the number of disgruntled Tory MPs voicing their opposition grew significantly. Whilst the cat is away the mice .... The fat fucker should just do the decent thing and resign. -
Fully agree. A compelling watch. Highly recommended.

The pressure is clearly getting to him. Johnson losing it at PMQs today. -

So the bloke can talk crap whenever he likes because he convinced a few East Anglian gammons in a Tory seat to select him? I'm sorry but I would prefer to follow the advice of an Archbishop. -

If you look at his history Tom Hunt is a particularly odious piece of fluff. Elected to Parliament at the age of 31 he has less knowledge of the real world than my dog. I am not religious but I would prefer to follow the guidance of the Archbishop of York rather than the views of a political lickspittle. -
I think you could be right.... although I would prefer Perraud at LB, KWP at RB and Toni pushed up.

So the question is ... Are Tory supporters on here happy with the Rwandan asylum plan? Is it achieving its main aim of distracting Boris supporters from Partygate? -

Recently when abroad I met many Canadians, Americans and a man high up in the French diplomatic circle. When talking to these people you notice how they: a) Bring up Johnson as a subject for discussion. b) Have a puzzled tone to their voice when discussing him. They wonder how can a country like the UK have a man like him in charge. They tend to find it rather amusing. The man is doing untold damage to the reputation of this country. He is not regarded as a statesman and the image of Britain abroad is not a good one. The sooner that he is gone the better. -
Atrocious. Before the match I thought that we could win today. Chelsea lost to Brentford and then had 2 hard games v Real Madrid with us sandwiched in between. With a week's rest I thought that we were on for one of those tough gritty displays against a team with their eyes on Europe. How wrong could I be? It is not difficult to pick out an under performer today but Salisu seemed half asleep for much of the match. If we can sell him for any decent money this window then please do so. His recent performances have been poor. He cost us points at home to Spurs and since his injury he has been shite. Bednarek should go as well and hopefully we can get some decent centre backs.

The spelling of "commiting" is not the most stupid thing on this post. Good old Piggy. Always good for a laugh.

It's what happens if you use your size and wealth to help smaller countries - whether in direct aid or in other areas. America has being buying friendship for years but more recently Russia and China have been getting in on the act. If you are the leader in these post Covid times of a poor third world country and Russia or China come along and offer you money and expertise to build your infrastructure you are not inclined to vote against them at the UN - despite any atrocities that they have committed. China for example is currently helping out, with loans and expertise, many of the Caribbean countries who have historically been friends / ex colonies of the UK. Many of these have abstained in the voting against Russia as you can see from the countries listed above. If you reduce foreign aid , as the UK has done, you reduce your influence in the world.

There are some regular posters on here who, like Le Tiss, go on about what we are being 'fed' by the media. e

My Club.... Ed Chamberlain (TV Sports Presenter)
Tamesaint replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
He occasionally makes references to Southampton when presenting horse racing on ITV. Little references to things like red and white stripes being good things on a jockey's silks. The top trainer Andrew Balding (brother of Clare) is also a Saints fan. Chamberlain makes Balding's support well known and apparently they give each other score updates if a match is taking place during the racing. -
If you rely on tweets from the likes of GB News and Henry Bolton to form your opinions (otherwise you are being "fed" news) it is not surprising that your political analysis is poor.

I am not sure about this but I think that Leeds once put in a bid for Che. The commentary has mentioned it just 3 or 4 hundred times.
-
The excitement in their voices when Leeds are on the attack is in complete contrast from when we attack.

I don't think that I want to know how Ducky knows that she / he has a hairy arse. 😁

Henry Bolton was revealed to be a racist fool when he was leader of UKIP. I wouldn't worry too much about what he thinks.
