  1. So we are now going to sue players who do not play well!! We all know Rupert's love for litigation and his endless stream of novel ideas but even by Rupert's standards the stupidity of this comment takes your breath away. Sundunce wants to get behind the team but then decides that any player who does not perform the way that he wants gets sued!! Hmmmm. He wants everyone to get behind the team ... but presumably not those who he considers to be a jerk. What happens if Euell or Scacel play in the first team. Should they be supported or are they jerks? I have a radical idea. If you are going to pay players like Scacel and Euell, why not play them when they are fit?? Stern John was one of the top scorers in the League last season. We are paying him so ... why not play him????? Who knows we might even start to win some matches!!
  2. Come on, come on. Get your facts right. Euell arrived here in September - not after January. All of the others you quote above were brought to the club by Pearson - not Burley. Perry came from a League One club who seem to have spent longer in administration that out of administration over the last few years. He was probably tempted by the thought of actually being paid!! Luketti and Wright only arrived 6 games before the end of the season. Removing Scacel and Rasiak from the wage bill in January would have been a much bigger saving than taking on the players you mentioned.
  3. .... and there in a nutshell you can see why Sundunce is the saddest, most pilloried poster on this board. Facts - why let them get in the way of opinions? Insults - lets use them to abuse the wife a fellow fan. Bigotry - lets reveal that to the world. The funniest thing is that he only has 3 posts a day ... yet he still manages to get up the nose of so many posters. That takes true skill!! Imagine what would happen if he could afford a fiver and became a full member!!
  4. I think you have lost my point. Sundunce keeps on blaming the Southampton fans for not havng the "passion" of the Newcastle fans - the same fans whose stadium was only 35% full last night. The club whose "passionate" fans numbered 12-15,000 fans the last time that they were in the second tier. At times like this the last thing that we should be doing is knocking our own fans.
  5. "The passion of Nercastle fans" - do us a faviour Sundance. You can only write 3 posts a day and you fill the posts you write with c**p like that. Our crowds since Lowe got us relegated have been consistently higher than Newcastle's in the '90's when they were last in the second tier.FACT. Last night only 20,000 of these "passionate" fans could be bothered to get off their ar**s and watch their team play Premiership Tottenham. We got more than that a couple of seasons ago in the same competition when we played League 1 Yeovil. FACT Why don't you just admit it Sundance. Your hero Lowe is letting us down again. His mad cap idea of reliance on youth is destined for failure in the same way as his mad cap idea of appointing the England rugby coach failed. For some reason you are now blaming the fans (despite your protestations I do not think that you are a fan) when the truth is that Lowe is continuing to let us down. Blame him - not us!!
  6. Probably Scooby - if not him Sundance Beast
  7. What a truly horrible piece of work you are Sundance Beast. I just pity you if you really believe this rubbish that you write.
  8. Has anyone an idea of how I can see the QPR game whilst in Hong Kong? Which are good football bars in Hong Kong??
  9. Its bound to be next week. I have to go to Singapore once a year. (Its a tough job but someone has to to do it). Last year the week I was away say the SISU bid. This year I am flying off Saturday evening so am very confident that the Sunday papers will be full of a leak from the St Mary's boardroom and that by the time I return in a week's time it wll all have been confirmed.
  10. Whats the betting that within a couple of months: WH Ireland's best brokers will be off to the like of TD Waterhouse and other stockbrokers. WH Ireland's dealing desks are staffed by young, work experience lads. WH Ireland start to trade later than their rivals and finish early to "save costs." A couple of unknown Dutch wannabees start to run the company. :-) :-0
  11. Hear hear.
  12. Very true ...and I know where you are coming from. But we said that last year when SISU made their offer and I cannot help but feel that if they had taken over we would not be discussing losing the likes of Davies, Surman, Rasiak , Saga etc because we cannot afford their wages.
  13. No - the dollar is definitely getting stronger. A couple of weeks ago it was $2 to the pound. It has now moved 7% against the pound and is at $1.86 = £. In other words if we were valued a couple of weeks ago at (say) £10 million it would have cost someone $20 million dollars to buy us. It now would only cost them $18.6 million. ie We are now a more attractive proposition for anyone with $ to spend than we were a few weeks ago. This is contrary to your original argument. but at the end of the day ... someone , anyone save us from the grusome twosome!!
  14. The dollar is RISING against the pound. At $1.86 it has risen 7% in the last 2 weeks .. so by your logic we are more attractive to a potential purchaser. Lets have someone ... anyone to save us from the death by a thousand cuts of RL & MW.
  15. Lowe Mk 1 used to pay highly skilled, expensive PR people to sing his praises. Lowe Mk 2 uses the likes of Sundance Beast and Professor. Just shows how the credit crunch is even affecting him!!
  16. What a ridiculous post. I realise that Luvvies have to big up WHI but this is really ridiculous. "There can be no doubt that the finances of Southampton Football Club are small change compared to the funds managed by WHI" ... hmmm. Well I would certainly hope so. Their job is to manage funds!! Just because their job is to manage funds does not mean that they own them!! Their turnover in their last financial year was £42 million. Our turnover in 2007 was £44 million. To suggest that we are financial pygmies in comparison with them is just crazy!! "A major City institution".... but they employ 326 people !!! Royal Bank of Scotland is a major City institution. They employ 224,000 people. I bet they have more people cleaning their toilets that WHI employ in total. Lowe was a failure iin a merchant bank. He was a failure as a businessman. The FA thought he was a joke and voted him off their committees. Over the last 10 years the only business he has been successful in is taking over £4 million out of the club in dividends and salary. Do you think Abramovich takes a wage out of Chelsea?? Lowe's "contacts" have never looked like investing in our club in the 10 years that he has been leeching off our business. Why should they now!!
  17. You can't say that on this forum !!!! Anything as sensible or as truthful as that will get immediately attacked by the luvvies. Siundance Beast will go on about how relegation was inevitable for a club of our size. A good job this view wasn't around in the '90's when we were a lot smaller. The Professor will go on about how this view is too blinkered and ignores how Saturn was in its ascendancy during 2005 and that was not good for a club of our ability and anyway he is a lot cleverer than us so his view is more accurate. 3 managers in a season - I think you have got it in one..... and whose fault was that??? Now let me see....
