I also have missed two home matches. Our only win and the 2-2 draw against Ipswich. So thats 4 of the oh so many goals we have scored at home.

"I really don't give a sh1t" is an unfortunate term to use after last night's match. Presumably Jon, they didn't show last night's match in Jamaics. If you had managed to catch it, you would have seen 13,000 Saints fans braving bitter cold & treacherous conditions to be let down by the Saints team. These fans DO give a sh1t. Please do not patronise them.

Who will you support if Saints go really under ?
Tamesaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
So Jon, when did you start to support Saints?? When Rupert appeared on the scene?? -
They say that you can judge a man by the company that he keeps. In which case Lowe is definitely a loser. First there were his chums who persuaded him to stand in the 1997 General Election for the Referendum Party - the BNP in blazers. Even though Lowe stood in the Cotswolds , he couldn't persuade enough retired colonels to vote for him and he lost his deposit . An expensive way of being told that your views are those of a pill**k. Then there is his friend David Ross from Carphone Warhouse. Despite making millions, he has now been accused of fraud. Ross's buddy Simon Jordan has proved himself to be a football man but Ross is not a great bloke to be seen hanging around with. Now we have Lord Marland - Rupert's best friend. First he tried to become boss of the Football Association .... but they could tell he was a tos**r and rejected him. Then he decided that he preferred cricket but despite the current fiascos with the current English team (eg the Pietersen / Moores affair & the Stanford series) he couldn't persuade the counties to even talk to him in his latest bid to become head honcho !! Nobody could take him seriously. This guy is a serial loser. Come on Rupert. Drop dead beats like Ross and Marland. Associating with them does you no favours at all!!
-
Which club do you think he has in mind??
-
Perhaps they want to be known as the Honey Monsters!!!
-
You talk so much sense. I agree entirely with your sentiments. We cannot afford to hurt the club financially. Next time I would bring my dog as well ... if you could arrange kennels or something during the match. :-)

I read an interesting article the other day about the current plight of the Honeybee which made me draw comparisons between the Honeybee and Saints. The Honeybee is having a hard time at the moment and is facing a battle for survival. So are we. The Honeybee lives in a hierarchical society with an autocratic leader at its centre. So do we. Interestingly , if the male worker bees in the hive decide that they want to change their leader ,they simply rebel and force the leader out. The leader simply leaves the hive. So at Saints all we are doing is simply recreating Nature. Our march and other protests are just us doing what Nature intends. The best bit is that the bees always win. . . there is no way that an unpopular leader can stay in a dominant position in the hive. Lowe is going to have to defy Nature to stay in post.... and even he cannot do that.

There was so much about the march today that was good but I was particularly impressed by the fact that it was organised by young people. Some of us were fortunate enough to support Saints in the late 70's / early 80's. We were spoilt by good football, good results and the sight of England internationals (both current and ex- internationals) playing for us. Today youngsters are not so fortunate but it is clear that they still have great passion and belief in the Saints.... as much as we older supporters who enjoyed the "good old days." For some of them to feel so strongly about their club to arrange a demonstration like today's which was peaceful yet passionate gives me great hope for our future. With fans like them, our club must prosper. I applaud the fans who arranged today's march.

Demonstration for Swansea game- Time and place!!
Tamesaint replied to scott_saints's topic in The Saints
So cutting through all your waffle and guff Sundance , sorry 19 C, are you marching with us today???? -
It couldn't have been Leon Crouch. You must ha been mistaken. He doesn't know how to run a business. Compared to Rupert what does Crouch know about running a business? After all that is why Lord rupert has had to come back to put our finances in order (by acquiring the likes of Forecast, Gasmi , Pullis,Peckhart , Dutch advisor no. 1, Dutch advisor no.2. paying off JP etc etc. ). Rupert knows everything about cost control... Crouch iknows nothing so it couldn't have been him who tried to cut our wage bill to meet our finances !!!!!

He is Sundance Beast. Sundance Beast was Flashman at the Charge. Flashman at the charge was the Fourth Bear. How do I know??? Because some of us were the recipients of a rather unpleasant PM from him which told us.

I was thinking along the same lines.... mind you some people will be easily identified. Delldays will be the person arguing with everyone else. Dalek will be pointing out that all marches were better in the days when Hoddle was at the club. St David will be hovering in the sky eating pie whilst talking on his phone. and Sundance Beast aka Nineteen Canteen will be the one standing at the side along with any Pompey fans in the area wearing his I Love Rupes tee shirt. :-) :-):-) -

Lol at sundance - er Nineteen Canteen,er Third Bear, Flashman or whatever it is that Rupert tells you to call yourself these days. -
I think that something is about happen. I think that it involves Crouch. There have been a lot of indicators recently that something is bubbling away in the background. eg The sudden removal of JP. Why on a Friday evening of al times??? A few snippets dropped on here by renowned posters. The re appearance on this forum of pro Crouch posts with certain well connected posters being prominent. I am most definitely not ITK but Crouch reappearing with some money would fit the bill. In my eyes it would be a matter for rejoicing - especially if it were to mark the end of the Rupes and Mikey show.
-
No , I think you must be the joker , John B. Surely even you can see that we would never have been in our current situation if Lowe had not returned, if we had held onto Pearson and if Crouch had stayed. Come back Leon - the only major shareholder who is a true saints fan and who will start to invest in the club & not take money out of it.
-
Anyone would think that he was sacked after reading this statement. Oh I forgot, he resigned didn't he.

Did he jump or was he pushed??

Nineteen Canteen is the new name for Sundance Beast. Sundance Beast was the new name for Flashman at the Charge. Flashman at the Charge was the new name for the The Third Bear. He changes his name every year - Rupert tells him to. Either that or it is some form of tax dodge!! He still cannot afford a fiver ... and he still has the same opinions. He supports Lowe - we support Southampton football Club. I don't think that he has cottoned onto that subtle difference yet. But he will one day. I wonder if Nineteen Canteen knows about Justin Fashanu?? -
Hi Sundance. Its Nineteen Canteen this time ?? Not Sundance Beast, Flashman at the Charge or the Third Bear. Do you change your name every January ?? I see though that you still cannot afford a fiver and are limited to 3 posts a day so your posts ramble on and on and on and ......... They are certainly a cure for insomnia. Pity you couldn't make it to SMS on saturday. I would have thought that a good fan of Southampton Football Club like you would have made it there. You weren't with Rupert by any chance were you ????
-
No it wasn't that. He had to leave early because he had a long standing family commitment that he could not duck out of - in the same way that he couldn't attend the AGM.
-
There was quite a demonstration after the game outside the main entrance. Others were taking photos / videos so there may be more on You tube. There must have been at least a couple of hundred protesters - although the club then proceeded to position every steward in the ground in front of the entrance . This club gets more like pre Glasnost Russia every day!! For me the saddest point of the demonstration came when the "Luntic Fringe" turned to the statue and chanted "there's only one Ted Bates." The demonstrators are true Saints supporters ... and Ted Bates must be turning in his grave looking at the current state of the club.

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years
Tamesaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
And Sundance shoots himself in the foot yet again!!!! :-) :-) "Not many read Duncan's posts these days" .... oh no???? 36 hours ago he started a post remembering the old times and it is already into its fourth page. Just admiit it Sundance you know nothing about what makes a football fan tick. You know nothing about what being a Saints fan means. That is because you supprt Lowe - you do not support Saints. My dog is a bigger Saints fan than you .. and he has a Saints dog lead to prove it!! -
Time for some good old fashioned name dropping
Tamesaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
When I was 18 my parents lived in Birmingham. It was the season we got promoted and we had just bought Chris Nicholl from Villa. That September we played Millwall away and I went down to the match by train. We got stuffed (3-0 I think) but walking through the train on the way back to Brum, I walked through a carriage to see Chris Nicholl sitting by himself eating a banana. He still lived in Brum and was returning after the match. I asked him to sign my programme & we got chatting and ended up talking about football all the way back to Brum. When the train stopped at Coventry , 2 Middlesborough fans got on the train. Coventry had played 'boro that day and one of these fans had been arrested . They had been delayed and had missed their coach back. They joined our conversation and we had a good chat before we all got out at New Street. My last sight was of Chris Nicholl helping the boro fans find the right platform for their connection. At this time football hooliganism was rife but he was going out of his way to help the 2 boro "hooligans" get on the right train. Chris Nicholl was a real gent. I wonder if he would like to return now as a manager!! -

Hi Sundance. What I find most interesting about you is that you claim to be a football fan and a follower of Southampton but you know what, I don't think you are. A true Southampton fan would know that when Duncan Holley talks about writing ITN he is not talking about the news channel. Most Saints fans of your vintage (you admit to senior moments) would remember that one of our ex players hanged himself. After all it does not , thank god, happen to many of them. Any Southampton fan of your age would not see McMenemy in the same light as you. The man who got us into our highest ever league position, the man who won us the FA Cup and under whom European football became a habit would not be so vilified by a proper Saints fan. Tell me - did you support anybody in the '76 Cup Final ? I don't think you are a Southampton fan. I think that you are just a fan of Lowe. You are so desperate to support his viewpoint that you have become a joke. Its good to know that you are able to laugh at yourself. Rest assured most of this forum also laughs at you. Cheers Tamesaint
