  1. ... and 19C is back to one of his favourite topics - slagging off our fans. On the attendance thread on Friday, he announced that he did not expect to see the total attendance to top 17,000. He even promised to give up his slagging of our fans if it was in the same ballpark as we achieved against Millwall. The total attendance was over 19,000 - not as much as against Millwall but still 10% higher than 19C predicted. It was higher than the gate at a Premiership game featuring the League champions. It was higher than the average that will be achieved this season at several Premiership clubs. Yet 19C was disappointed!! I suppose anything to have an argument!!
  2. I would sincerely hope that the players who are getting a bit p***ed off go before Pardew does. It was the players who got rid of Luggy when he was here. It has been the players who have got us relegated twice in the last 4 years. Good luck to Pardew if he is now kicking a** and is trying to sort things out. As the OP said (good post by the way 19C) the future is bright if we have patience. Fortunately I believe that our new owners are also the sort of people who have patience in the management that they appoint.
  3. So if the crowd is above 17,000 will you admit that all your incessant pontificating about the fickle nature of our fans is wrong??
  4. Silly old me. I thought that a thread entitled unrealistic expectations & which was started with a well written post would be about the unrealistic expectations of the fans this season. But no. Some people just love to cause unrest amongst the fans. I thought that we had learnt the very hard way what happens when a club is divided but some people just love dissension. Quite quickly this thread has degenerated into a slagging off of the biggest hero this club has had over the last 20 years . Its almost as if some posters just hate the thought that supporters are united. I bet that when they were kids these people picked away at the scabs on thir knee after they fell over. My biggest hope for this season is that the club sorts itself out. Lets get united behind the team and lets hope that the team gives us some performances to get behind. Lets hope that we start to move up the table. Lets hope ..... oh s&d it . I am going to join the moaners..... I walked past MLT and he smelt .... I heard that MLT does not .....
  5. I always thought there was something theatrical about you. Can I just say , Andrew, that I enjoyed Cats but think that Joseph was your best work. How is the missus and her polo ponies??
  6. But how about: Canteen Speculator Flashman Bear and any other names he has used??? If it was him, he would have had those names as well!! :-) The OP was a good piece. Unfortunately in true 19C style he had to get a couple of digs in on his latest obsession - MLT.... and the majority of the replies to his original posting now relate to MLT. I just think that the bloke wants attention. I feel sorry for him and for anyone else who suffers from the same affliction as him. If he had wanted to open up a debate on the expectations of our supporters he would not have had the dig at MLT. A pity really because there is a lot of good stuff in the original post.
  7. Its good that the important matters of life get debated on this forum. I agreebut with your comments (despite knowing nothing about trains) think we should still play the game - despite them making such a crass mistake. Could you summarise your views on their crest into a pithy, witty song that we could all sing at the Swindon fans?? Thanks
  8. +1 Thank God that the incompetent clown Lowee is out of the way and we can move on. Good old Barclays for pulling the plug!!!
  9. The trouble is that there are now 2 threads on this subject. To follow the complete debate on this subject you need to flip betweeb this forum and the lounge. For reasons best known to himself, Ponty decided to move the other thread to the lounge. ( He did try to justify his strange decision but have you ever heard Ponty say that he is wrong ?? No I thought not.). The likelihood of a good debate on this subject is low when you have 2 different threads in two separate forums.
  10. Presumably you have now visited the doctor ???
  11. He hasn't been on holiday. He has been posting under his latest reincarnation "Speculator."
  12. No news. There is no problem. Come on. Move down the bus.
  13. He makes some valid points.... but he has made them before and doubtless will again and again. He loves the affect that slagging off one of our true legends has on the majority of Saints fans. And in true 19C / Sundance style he goes completely over the top. Apparently showing some appreciation of MLT's presence is a kick in the teeth to Cortese, Liebherr etc !! That is well OTT. He loves to cause discord and whilst we are trying to build an united fanbase I think that we can do without his divisive views.
  14. Don't get so worked up about him. Speculator is the new name for Nineteen Canteen which was the new name of Sundance Beast which was the name of Flashman at the Charge which was the new name of the the Fourth Bear. The bloke keeps changing names more often than most people change their shirt. Don't encourage him to change his name again!! The poor bloke has some sort of mental problem. He has admitted it himself. He has to come up with a contrary opinion about most people / events and this is just his latest attempt to stir up controversy. Read what he says and move on. Reacting to it just gives him the limelight that he desires.
  15. It was a hot day yesterday but even so our lack of fitness certainly became apparent as the game wore on. We were out on our feet for the last 10 minutes or so and I wish that I had a £ for every time that I saw one of our players bending over with their hands on their knees looking knackered. It was equally hot for both teams and certainly Millwall did not see to be afflicted the same way.
  16. Typical skate - can't count. Seven years takes us back to 2002/3. That season saw the Skates in the fizzy pop with us at the Cup Final and ending up eigth in the Prem. The biggest shock is you trying to claim that the recent hiccup in the natural order of things started 7 years ago!!
  17. Well we didn't win the first match of the season... but we never do. I have supported Saints since the end of the 60's. In that time I can only remember 3 victories on the first day of the season. We beat Coventry away 1-0 about 10 years ago, we beat West Ham in the late 80's under Nicholl and I think we beat West Brom in the season we went on to win the Cup. Have there been any other opening day victories that I have missed? Does any other club have such an appalling first day record as us??

    Skates

Very true ..... I am beginning to get worried now about who is running this website!!!! :-) .

    Skates

So to repeat the question which you didn't answer before: Why did you move it if it makes no difference??

    Skates

+3 Maybe its just a plan to make the lounge more popular??
  21. Tamesaint

    Skates

8/1 to finish bottom now. Still not bad but I think that 10/1 to be bottom at Xmas is a better bet. It gives them less time to wriggle out of their current mess . Fill your boots - and pay for 2010's season ticket with your winnings!!
  22. Tamesaint

    Skates

"at this moment in time." Why not just say "now" ???? The grammar in this article is appalling.
  23. Tamesaint

    Skates

Its 10/1 on being bottom at Xmas & 14/1 on ending up bottom - all with bet 365. Or it was on sunday!! But hurry. -10 points will see a uge contraction in those odds as well.
  24. Tamesaint

    Skates

Bet 365 are offering 14/1 on them finishing bottom. Fill your boots. It will pay for next season's season ticket!!
