I don't know whether he is injured ... but so far he has had 37 minutes of League action for Wolves. I am sure that his bank balance looks healthy being a minor bits player for a Premiership team but what a waste of a good player. I would love to see him return to Saints.

What has happened to the thread that compared us with Pompey??? I cannot see it anywhere. Has it disappeared into thin air ???

Brilliant!!

Does Coretese keep tabs of fans views via this forum?

Lets hope that if he does look on here, Mr Cortese is not offended by people misspelling his name!! -
Excellent post. Lets hope that Cortese and Marcus appreciate that this thread is a better indication of Saints fans's feelings than those threads moaning about Pardew.

PMSL Whoever wrote this did not have English as their first language. Clearly they did not understand that you can use full stops in the middle of paragraphs and that you do not have to wait until the very end to use one. Maybe they reckon that nobody will understand it if they write garbage. What on earth does " The extent to which the gains that have been realised from player sales were retained by the club's previous banking partner during a protracted takeover period creates a responsibility for the new ownership, one which we are committed to help resolve" actually mean??? It is very rare to see such jibberish on any website created by adults. Clearly the one bloke in Portsmouth who achieved a GCSE in English wasn't around this afternoon to proof read this rubbish!!

I went back and read this post again. There is a lot of good stuff in here , excellently written with which I agree - especially the bit about people expecting to win all the time. I think that the demand for continual success is at the root of many of football's ills. HOWEVER In a non agressive fashion, I would like to ask this poster how he can possibly square up his concern about Saints fans's lack of reverence with his continual sniping at MLT and Lawrie Mac. Reverence is hardly what he has shown to 2 of our all time greats in his postings over the last few weeks .... so why criticise Saints fans now for lack of reverence???

Do not have the time to read the first 5 pages but St Will and Nineteen Canteen both make excellent posts which sum up the night and our performance - especially the point about the muppet who scheduled roadworks on a match night!! Lets learn from tonight, eradicate the mistakes and get 3 points on Saturday.

Some people are such drama queens. We lose a cracking match to a stunning goal in the last minute and they want the manager sacked!! Sacking managers every 5 minutes is a major reason why we now sit in the third tier of English football. Lets calm down and move on. Be patient.

This comes from the Observer. The sports editor of the Observer has acknowledged that he is a Pompey fan. No wonder they thnk that Pompey fans deserve better!!

So, why DID Mark Fry prefer Pinnacle over Liebherr?
Tamesaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
BMW's are the worst of the worst. I am not sure about Mercedes. If you want a good laugh go into the motoring forum and follow the thread about someone "doing an Agnew" & putting unleaded petrol into their diesel car. At the moment that thread is halfway down the second page. Within about 15 posts, NC had turned into an attack on large sections of humanity - especially BMW and Audi drivers. Its a classic. I just guess that the pharmacy had run out of his medication that week. -

If you really want to see NC's compulsive disorder, tell him that you drive an Audi. That really gets him going!! -

PMSL For this nonsense please read: Even I am so embarrassed by the rubbish that I have been writing on this thread that I am stopping. Wes and others have run complete rings round me but I am not man enough to confess this ... but before I go let me throw one more unsubstantiated slur into the melting pot.

Who do you mean?? MLT for puttinng it into his book ... or 19C for continually making such a meal out of it??
-
Thank you. That was very interesting.
-
So exactly how far from Portsmouth do you live??

He is employed as the frontman for the chap who is buying Birminghaam - Mr Yeung. Why he should therefore be in our directors's box beats me.

You know NC , you can talk a lot of sense when you drop the trolling lark!!

Sundance Beast ??? He was a real nutter. Its a good job you didn't know him. He was Rupert's love child. Flashman at the Charge ?? The rumour was that he slept with Rupert. It was only a rumour but you know what they say ... no smoke without fire. The Fourth Bear .... he was a real gent. As nutty as a fruitcake but a true gent. Its a pity you didn't get to know them. They had a lot in common with you.

I go to Billingsgate fairly often to buy fish. Billingsgate has a lot of small traders/ fishmongers all gathered under one roof. Football is a favourite topic of conversation with many of the porters and I once had a decent conversation about the Saints with a Charlton fan who works there. About 18 months ago a stall from Selsey began to be festooned by blue scarves and flags. A special Cup Final 2008 flag took pride of place in the centre of the stall. They always seemed to have a good selection of skate wings. Needless to say no matter how cheap their wares I never bought anything from that stall. I went to Billingsgate this morning and the stall from Selsey had no Pompey flags or scarves. Not a single one. Rumour has it the stallholders now support Millwall!! I nearly PMSL !!!

I was walking in a street in Hong Kong this time last year. Over there you get used to seeing the locals wear Man U / Liverpool / Arsenal / Chelsea shirts but I was astounded to see a Hong Kong native walk past me wearing a skate shirt with the name Campbell on the back. He was the biggest and fattest Hong Kong person I saw. I did call him a skate bastard as I walked past him but it was under my breath and there was no chance of him hearing. I am not that brave!!

No - it was not that early here in Thailand !! :-) :-) :-)

I would suggest that Pardew's biggest problem now is deciding on his best team. Injuries will obviously disrupt his plans but I think he now needs to decide on his best team and stick to it. The bigger the squad, the more difficult it will be for him to decide on his bet team. Who for example should play in midfield?? Hammond, Morgan, Lallanna & James look good. But how about Mellis, Gillett, Holmes , Mills , Thomson , Wootton and Gobern ?? Boyle, McLaggon and Pulis are also lurking in the background. Pardew needs to be able to distinguisah the wood from the trees .... and if that means thinning the squad and reducing the number of trees then sobeit.
