and to resurrect an old idea... Why not get some decent beer in?? Newbury races used to do great pints from the HogBack Brewery. Why can't we??? The lager and cider currently on offer are enough to make you teetotal!

Who wrote that ?? The tooth fairy?? Naming rights - I am sure that in this time of global recession , multi mationals will be fighting amongst each other to get their name associated with the Fratton Park toilet bowl. New kit supplier - presumably they are tied in till at least the end of this season with their current shirt supplier so don't expect too much revenue from that source this side of the summer. Future season ticket revenue securitisation - well I suppose all their TV money is tied up paying back loans so season tickets are the only source open to them.... and exactly how many times can you mortgage Fratton Park??? The owners have paid tax arrears - well they haven't done a very good job so far. HMRCE are clearly not very happy. Rest assured. Pompey are not going to escape from this. The longer they try to defy gravity, the worse the fall will be. The CCC will be far too high a league for them next season with all the penalties that will eventually come thier way. Enjoy watching the car crash whilst it is still going on.

When Fry took us over I remember that he said that he was amazed how bad things were and that he was surprised not to have been called in earlier. Weston Saint also revealed on here that it had been a difficult job to get an administrator to take us on. Only Begbies would do it. The other firms were convinced that we were a goner. But compare us then with Pompey now. No winding up orders had been presented on us. Prior to our administration we had always paid our staff. Lowe delayed our administration in a desperate bid to stave off the 10 point deduction that would have led to relegation. Pompey are doing the same now but they cannot deny gravity for ever. Administration is coming their way and when it comes it will be a knockout blow. If Fry was surprised at how long we had survived pre administration, I am sure that if he was to be brought in at Pompey, he would be amazed at how long it has taken them to accept the inevitable.

What page will this thread be on when Pompey's administration is announced?? My guess is 131. It may not be very far away but if today's rate of posting is maintained we will reach 131 by sometime next week.

February 21 st - its the missus's birthday and that would be such a good present that I would not need to buy her anything else.

Whenever I see one of their vans I think about deliberately scratching it. But that would not be fair on Oliver would it ??

Do you rate any of our players???
-
Evening ???? I cannot make a pint last all evening!! The offer is still there.
-
Which particular issue are you referring to ??? There are so many to choose from with him.

I had a patent (3 selections , 7 bets ) before the season started on Pompey to be bottom at Christmas (looking good . I may even lay some of it off this Saturday ), Saints to be promoted (looking a better bet each week that passes) and ..... Ipswich to win the Championship :-( :-( Oh well. 2 out of 3 ain't bad and maybe Keano can inspire a Sunderland style charge out of his team!!

Just seen the highlights. The first Norwich goal showed how we miissed Jaidi. He would have won the first ball in the air and snuffed the danger out. Holt was definitely offside for the second goal. How come the lino never spotted it??? I would have bneen gutted to have been knocked out by those 2 goals if we hadn't won the penalties.

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
Tamesaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I agree. -
I bet that MLT would not deprive the club of money by abusing his season ticket. Confess all 19 C . Turn yourself in. I think it is appalling how "fans" like you abuse the privileges of a season ticket.
-
By doing this, you do realise that you have breached the terms of your season ticket. Season tickets are non transferable. It is part of the terms and conditions of buying one. We know that you have a high moral code ... after all you have banged on and on and on about MLT 's supposed misdeameanour, bringing it up again and again and again. How can you live with yourself? You have denied your club of much needed revenue. I am sure that you are totally ashamed. Please turn yourself in and confess to the ticket office. Personally I don't believe you. I reckon you were at home watching the Pompey score come through on Ceefax. Who on earth would invite you to a Christmas function??? How on earth could you have given your tickets to "one of my mates" (note the plural) because there is no way that you have any!!

I hope not. I was going to SMS that day. Colchester is 2 days later.

Saints 3-0 Tranmere Rovers: Post Match Reaction
Tamesaint replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
How about voting for him for Sports Personality of the Year ??? PM next year. -

I didn't do the Cup Final but I did make all of the Saints games. I don't think that I have ever felt so low after a match as I did after that semi. The pain of 2 relegations did not seem as bad as that cup defeat. After the match, I went for a pre arranged drink with a friend who had been there supporting Everton. It was not a great evening!!
-
No - deffo County. I remember , I was there.

I agree with the OP that Frank Worthington was our weak link that season. From memory, I think that he only scored 1 goal. But what a great season it was. The cup run was magnificent. I think that we were drawn away from home every time & only needed 1 replay. Forest away in the 3 rd round was good as was Blackburn on a friday night but how could anything compare with the victory at nottarf krap ?? I have never witnessed such an atmosphere!! Pure hatred from the neanderthals!! We were kept in for so long afterwards that Steve Moran came out onto the pitch for his MOTD interview and we were all still there. Brilliant!! I really hope that younger fans can experience the same joy with Saints.

Should we have a sweepstake on when Pompey's administration will be announced?? I thought that if they had lost yesterday, thy may have announced it soon. If they had lost they would have been 7 points off safety - which is quite a lot when you ahave only gained 7 points all season !! However yesterday's result gives them more hope I suppose. I go for an admin date of 10th March. They play Chelsea the week before and Liverpool a few days later. They won't do a Rupert and wait until it is too late.If it is in March at least we get another 3 months to enjoy their plight - ie Players not being paid // Lurid newspaper headlines // Rumours // Counter rumours // Court cases // Arrests etc etc What a farce!!

I predict that at the end of the season we will find that the minus 10 points has not really mattered. We will reach the play offs but even without the 10 point deduction we would not have made automatic promotion. Leeds , I think are too far away to be caught by us. They are 24 points ahead . Either Norwich or Charlton will accompany them. They are 16 and 20 points clear of us - and I do not think that we would catch them even if we had the 10 points restored. However I do think that we can still reach a play off position. We can make up enough ground to get into a top 6 position - and once in the play offs we will stand a great chance of winning.

I do not understand what you are saying. Who are these other employers giving jobs in football to JP and Wotte? Nobody else has yet employed Wotte. JP is now back languishing in the lower leagues of Dutch football (with, apparently, another relegation beckoning) and hasn't been snapped up by another English club. How do I know that Strachan and Souness walked?? Because they said so!! Are you saying that Lowe sacked them as well?? "So many managers came to work for him" ?? The fact that he had to scour the lower leagues of Dutch football to find someone to work for him illustrates his desparation in getting people to come and work for him.
