If anyone can terminate one, it would have to be Rupes wouldn't it ???
-
Yes ... but the club control their pitch and they can make sure that it is not fit for play by not tending it properly.
-
Don't worry. League One will soon be a dream for the Skates. After the proverbial hits the fan in relation to the tax affairs of the chairman, chief exec and manager and the club's accounts have been forensically investigated they will be fortunate to still be members of the Football League.
-
Thanks for interpreting. You can clearly read Skate - its a strange language!!
-
I think you have hit the nail on the head.
-
Interesting. Wasn't it Grant Thornton who were called in to do the forensic accounting on our accounts when we were peddling the line that it was the parent company and not the football club who were in administration ?? Clearly Grant Thornton are the experts on this sort of ting at football clubs.

Why was the contact for only 18 months if Ward wanted to come to us???? Nowadays it seems that most contacts are for at least 3 years (Seaborne's is for 3 and a half). A contract for just 18 months would indicate a lack of commitment on Ward's part.

The funniest thing was when one skate announced that he was doing it for a free ticket because it is normally impossible to get tickets for their games. I never realised that all their games were automatic sell outs. I thought that those empty seats had not been sold. Clearly someone is going round, buying up al the tickets and then not bothering to distribute them!!

He's cup tied for the JPT :-(

Anyone Else Think We Could Be Playing pompee...

No way will we be playing them next season .... unless we get relegated and I do not think that is likely. They are going to be relegated this season as they are clearly not good enough for the Premiership. Their ex Chairman, chief executive and ex manager will all end up in prison for tax evasion & these misdemeanours will cause the Football league to sling them out into the Blue Square before they are reinstated to Division 2 on appeal. It happened before to Swindon. I do not think it is unlikely to happen again. Consider the punishment meted out to Luton for offenses nowhere as serious as those that Mad and Rich, Storrie teller and Saggychops are all facing. They are going down .... and I do not just mean Saggy and his chums. -
I don't disagree with you. My point was that they do not even seem to have paid some of their contractual obligations to their players.
-
No they didn't pay more for winning the FA Cup. They promised to pay more but never came up with the cash. Ask Sol about his win bonus for the FA Cup.
-
Brilliant!!
-
+1. Something must have gone horribly wrong somewhere in the past for him to have ended up as one of the blue few.
-
You may well be right ... it means that the team we will watch at Wembley in the FA Cup will be different from the team that we watch at Wembley in the JPT and the play offs. :-) :-) :-)
-
He played last Saturday in the FA Cup (as did Danns :-) ) ..... but I am sure he is not tied for the Johnstone's Paint!!
-
But everyone knows that its true. Pompey fans are amazing. Thierry Henry said so. Similarly 'arry is just a lovable ****ney chap who has done a triffic job wherever he has gone. As Chapel end Charlie wrote last night, expect the gushing obituaries from every Tom, **** and Harriet in the press once the blue few capsize.
-
Its the Harriets in the sports media that get up my nose .... or more specifically Sue Mott who often crops up on 5 Live and who,I believe, writes for the Telegraph. She will be in her element cooing over Pompey. She normally bases her football opinions on the comings and goings at Arsenal ("do you know" she once said on 5 Live "players in Theo Walcott's team before he came to Arsenal used to fight the opposition on the pitch") but I am sure that she will be able to manage a coo at the plight of plucky little Pompey.

The Sky money is £7m. They owe other English clubs £10m. (according to the Guardian - see post 5691). Lens are also owed £4 million. So the TV money does not clear their footballing debts. The TV money however had already been promised to the people who lent them the money for previous loans. Rest assured. They are well and truly stuffed.
-
No. They can only extend the loans when they pay the wages and the debts owed to other clubs on transfers.
-
Selling Kaboul to pay the wages will not help them avoid the drop. If they cannot extend O'Hara's loan, their problems will get even worse.
-
So the question is .... Have they been paid today?????

He was born in Oxford and his relatives live in Thame.

For those nostalgic Saints some 1980's action.

Fantastic memories. Thanks for those. Wasn't Moran good at the start of his career?? The way with which he celebrated his goals was so infectious.
