Fulham 1 Saints 1 - Post Match Reactions & MotM
captainchris replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
'Mate' you must be talking about a different game - we were poor!!! No.... very poor! We would not have scored had it not been for the pen...Our preparation is miles off and our attention and sharpness early on in games is lacking almost every game.... We were not 'up for it' from the time we got off the bus! We were not closing down - Fulham were, we were not working hard, we were not making runs and making things happen. If we want to be the team we aspire to we have a hell of a long way to go...... The reality is, we were poor - dress it up how you like - without the pen we would have lost. I think the back room staff and manager need to take a very hard look at themselves with regard to preparing for games as we are increasingly arriving flat with no energy and no confidence with no closing down. It's almost as though the team have bought a ticket to come and watch the match early and not take part. Much more energy and hard work is needed win games of football at this level. Nigel take note - positive talking alone is not enough....... -

Some excellent points......KD could have walked to the cross and kicked it away but chose to stand where he was and dive towards it. As usual he needs coaching and explaining to......You have to use your head quickly in this game as a pro. Think...you don't need to always use your hands - it's not a rule of the game! -
Wide or middle not a great deal of difference really...... Is affecting the outcome of games in our favour - no not really.... Still flatters to deceive. Doesn't retain the ball like AL....doesnt assist like AL..... Doesnt score like AL....you just have to say the price tag-on the evidence to date was very inflated. He has some improving to do and quickly....

Not for the first time.... Preparation is seriously flawed. Our heads were down getting off the bus even - body language was all negative......First 15 mins we stood and watched them! What our sports science department doing? -
pathetic

Ok except would rest Schniderlin for JWP. We must keep am eye on Rimerez too if he's not affecting the game again needs to come off...

Just wondering what Ramirez has done to warrant a place lately?

Our preparation has been very suspect before matches. This seems to particularly be a problem after two weeks off - why? I've been concerned at the way we prepare for a while..... Something is definately amiss. Too often we are soft and off the pace. Considering our massive back staff and general large team why is pre match prep of players poor???? This we business of 'we prepare in the same way' is not something to brag about - on the contrary this needs examining as its clearly not right.... -
God knows what Adams worth is if Ramirez is worth 12m because he is not as good as AL!
-
12m man can only play in one position and even then is suspect ! 12m - sorry I want more for my money haven't seen enough yet to justify 3m..... Yes Adkins has to sort his mind out too but hey Ramirez needs to step it up and pronto because as yet he isn't producing value for money.....
-
Been saying this for ages..... All flare and little substance ... He needs coaching ....

Are these posts really for real !!!!!!!!!!!!! If there is such a rift why is he playing???? Look at the evidence - everyone saying he has changed, matured and playing ten times better. The situation has changed do revise your comments to suit. Life moves on all the time and so has JP and the club. Why harp on about the past - the past is history, we are are interested in the present and the future..... JP is going no where for 2m so go crawl under a rock and stop letting the past influence your present and future thinking - the past means nothing in this case... -
And no laughing or having fun either or cheering if we win - shame on you if you do!!! After such a ridiculous post I feel for you - ba humbug......Wear fancy dress and be proud you have a life!
-
And every time he has played for England he has been distictly average to poor. No thanks, we have better players and more ambition than that....
-
NO Emphatically ....

'You don't understand' Well have a chat with Nigel next time you see him and perhaps he can put you straight on why Fox is nowhere near the team any more. He is nearly blind for a start. He has no all round vision so he just doesn't mark players. He NEVER closes players down to prevent crosses - just stands five yards away and watches the opponents cross it in. He cannot anticipate where the ball might go or where team mates might be...... He cannot stay in position or anywhere near it. He CAN cross a ball - that's it ! In summary, he is Carp and a liability.........Nothing more to add...
-
Totally rediculous...........Fox cannot play above league one - a poor player who has been dropped for a very good reason.
-
Yep insane..........rather have the tea lady to be frank....or if there isn't one stick the vending machine out there!
-
I was a JP doubter for sure but since his rapid maturing his game has come in immeasurably. He is now playing very well indeed - to so casually dismiss the idea of keeping him now is blind madness. It is blatantly not 'in everyones interest' to let him go...........

Reading were pretty terrible. As someone else said - not one of their players were get into our team. They looked like a championship team at the same time maybe given the gulf in class we should have pushed on a bit more. 2 or 3 nil would have reflected the real difference. We did score two goals though come to think of it - couldn't see anything wrong with the disallowed goal?? The ref and lino's were league two standard - really very very poor...
