Blackmore is irritating in that he makes an obvious statement and seeks an obvious agreement from the interviewee. Blackmore should ask questions which are not prequalified. The question should have been thus: How did you see the difference between the first second halves Russel? Or even better: What was your view of how the game unfolded Russel? Blackmore is not there to offer his implied answer to the question first which he most often does….

A supporter is a customer too, unless of course you get in for free…. Any customer/ supporter has a right to critical analysis or to show their dissatisfaction with the quality on offer. In addition they can clap if they they think the quality was excellent…. Of course if you think the players and manager should be applauded given any circumstance of questionable football then you are entitled to do that, however, that doesn’t turn you into a better or proper/superior supporter/customer. What it it does mean is you are willing to accept results that align with your nature of taking part is your ambition and winning is not as important as taking some kind of moral high ground and labelling yourself as a proper supporter and forgetting you are a customer too. Russel Martin is slowly turning into a deflector of issues whilst he struggles to utilise the resources at his disposal. Martin continually concentrates focus on supporter opinion which he disagrees with and excuses relating to spurious exaggerated hangover psychology from last season. In fact you could say he was acting out the ‘superior supporter’ syndrome himself. It is precisely the lack of a winning mentality which Martin and some paying customers buy into which is holding us back. Expect to win and ask questions if we don’t. We should be thrashing Rotherham, no if’s not but’s and not making glib conceited comments about supporter opinions and match stats…. Martin is having you over if you buy into these distractions….

The whole time there is between players arriving back from internationals and the game on the Friday needs to be spent on defensive midfield and fullback defensive drills and duties - No excuses for not completely being focused on the current defensive shambles.

This is squarely on Martin’s shoulders. Bizarre team selection with unfit and out of practice players picked when they are not ready I play. Bizarre to pick AA up front, everyone knows he is shite there except Martin it seems. As for ‘tactics’ Martin must see the same reason we concede on the counter every game but literally does does sod all to change the blindingly obvious that, if we have 8 men in front of the ball when we lose possession we lose a goal on their counter Isn’t that what managers are paid millions to sort out? This guy is a great talker and loves his little favs in the ‘group’ However the tactical nouse is sadly and obviously lacking.

How on earth anyone could put AA up front in a suggested team after the amount of games he’s played there and been really very poor is a complete mystery. Midfield fine but up top - NO.

So, we lose possession and they are up to our penalty area in three passes. Yet again the midfield is absent and Martin hasn’t addressed this. This team are not close to promotion candidates…
