This is the sort of thing that really is worrying about RM. He thought Bree played really well….. He didn’t… Bree had a miserable night at Portman Road, losing possession 18 times, misplacing eight crosses and winning just two ground duels, while his night was compounded when he got sent off in the 84th minute. Which game was RM watching ?

Apart from our woeful defending which has been pretty constant apart from a brief spell the other most consistent aspect of our games has been poor second halves. Are we unfit, does RM demotivate at half time, does RM change tactics at half time for the worse? What is going on with our second halves?

We played well today that’s for sure… However, our defending is abysmal every game and RM’s faith in Bazunu is now beyond ridiculous. The Bree thing today was also just weird, again he was dreadful… Martin just continues to make baffling decisions all the time and clearly he cannot coach defending at all because the schoolboy errors are tactically well just that schoolboy errors every game… Has Martin never heard of marking because it definitely ain’t happening….

Have to disagree. The evidence is whoever plays we do not mark up that is coaching or instruction, one of the two. We are definitely conceding far too many goals and have all season that is the glaring difference between us and the other three. Every game is a repeat of the last…

It is Martin all over…. We concede because we do not mark up at all! We concede too many goals through non existent defensive coaching and Bazunu. (Bree is dreadful I agree and that is recruiting…

He keeps playing with defence as if he doesn’t know what to do. The problem is the tactics. Our full backs are too far advanced along with our midfield which leaves huge gaps for the opponents to exploit. We concede far too often. We also appear not to mark up which is very weird. I’m afraid most of our deficiencies are down to a lack of coaching and tactics. We don’t seem to coach composure either ….

What a terrible game of walking football. The amount of diving and feigning injury (cheating) too and Sky pundits managed to talk about it for how long ??? Joke of a game.

For Christ sake pick your best team, that is the one where players actually perform well in matches not at Staplewood! You should know your best team by now. Could you also concentrate and focus on coaching players who show the same flaws every single week, take them aside and give individual coaching because it is not visible that you do that Russel…

You have to say RM does appear to be slightly off the pace on average. Too often he picks a team that includes a player or two that doesn’t justify inclusion in the starting line up. For sure he does have his favourites which is never healthy, wise or productive. Martin is generally slow to see tactical changes from the opposition and sits on his hands until the obligatory 60mins plus before making subs who are often again suspect. I am seeing a pressing of the repeat button now and considering the squad he has I’m less and less convinced that RM is quite up to the mark… In general we are conceding far too many goals often even though we dominate the number of passes. He certainly is dithering with team selection and obviously has no idea of his best team even at this late stage in the season. Rothwell has dug him out of the mire twice now and without those points we really would be well short of where we should be. If we don’t get promotion I really think he won’t improve next year particularly with a potentially much weaker squad so therefor it’s now or never for him…. The other thing is I don’t see him improving players so have to say on balance he is running out of leeway in the bank. I can see Wilcox coming under pressure to lean on him again. I expect to see his next presser with him rather more sheepish again as he was last time he got a rollicking…

This precisely. He should be put on his own in training kicking a ball against a wall for month with only his left foot. Then moving onto ball exercises with left foot only. He might be able to take part after that. I cannot understand how you can pick a player who has his head permanently down and is totally one footed. Surely we should be coaching him first…

Two things which are costing us goals and the manager should sort out. Goals conceded: No player should be turning his back on incoming shots which has cost us two deflected goals in last two matches. This is what 8 year olds do, not grown men! Second, scoring goals: To be considered every player should be able to confidently kick with both feet. Management can and should fix both of these, they are both issues in our team.
