Considered accuracy.............................
-
This is so accurate. Amen to kick and rush Pardew tactics and no plan B. Come to that, hardly a plan A was there! We played more football in that match Saturday that in a year under Pardew.
-
I do not agree with your opinion.............about AL not being prem standard. He is in another league to Drew Surman without doubt so I think that makes him premier league...............
-
just no way dkins will be sacked ever. He's probably the best manager in England going on the performances he is getting from these players. This weekend's performance was the best football I've seen Saints play since we finished second in the old first div under Lawrie Mac. No longs balls at all - passing football. I have yet to see any opposition score a goal when they don't have the ball - even Brazil cant do that! Still on a high after making Tranmere look like a pub team!
-
Today's performance was a joy to watch. Top drawer football. To say Chaplow had little impact is the most inaccurate post/opinion I've seen in years..........Chaplow linked almost every move today. He must have seen more of the ball than any other player on the pitch. Also made great runs into the box, causing havoc on a two or three occasions. The whole team was excellent and so was Chaplow....

'The football Club' is so - It's so important, that's why the 'football' club is emphasized. The football club is God - noooooooooww - it's not!
-
100% correct. It's a joy to watch controlled football. The way we played under Pardew was lazy and amateur in terms of organisation and method.
-
Is Merrington the worst 'expert' analyser of all time? I just don't know anything fron his comments - how are we set up , how is the midfield operating - what are the tactics tonight???????? I have given up and come on here for some reason it's better! What are solent thinking about - Saturday was great but this is rubbish.

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Saints - Post-match reaction thread
captainchris replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
That programme is not fit to be on the telly and our Pompey friend is absolutely woeful. Last night I thought the programme plunged to a new depth. It's the first time I've bothered to watch it this year and probably the last - dreadful! -
nooooooooooo wwwww noooooooooooooooooo www Punch has had enough chances this year and is not making a difference - time for a change as we do have options in that area and quite good ones. Puncheon needs a rest!
-
Can I just say.....Colchester barely got a kick today. Our passing though not perfect was 1000% better than I've seen from Saints for many many games - most of last year in fact. I give Atkins 9 out of 10 today for his tactics, game plan, structure, substitutions. and quality of instructions to the players on how to play...none of which are his players remember... Would have given 10 for the win! Things are looking very good for the future....
-
Best Saints player today put a sock in it drama queen....
-
You are talking out of your ass mate!! We were 1 out of 10 first half but at least NA has issued orders to play the passing game and NO hoofing it!!! Second we were much improved and passed it well and created much more....Even Davis passed it out rather his usual hoof every single time! Second half 6.5 out of 10 The football second half was decent to watch and it has a far better chance of eventual improvement in results that the big long lick we have now seen for aver a year from AP. I liked the football.... A few comments: Wilkins - why are we keeping him on the books - he has the Pardew tactic - aim at the big screen at the other end of the ground !! so what use will he be to Atkins when it comes to coaching ?- How can he coach the Atkins brand of football???????? Get rid!! Players today: Davis - nothing to do - distribution very average and slow to think. 6 out 10 Butterfield - a light weight , ponderous and timid in personality - not one to keep. 5 Seabourne - ok, gives away fouls in dangerous positions. 6 Fonte - Solid and good positional sense. Drives forward well. 7 Harding - off the pace 4 Schdlin - Overated - very average 6 Hammond - no comment. 4 Chamberlain - Muscled out today and didn't really produce. Puncheon - miles out of position, completely static, no intelligence, no anticipation 3 Lambert - played well - good control always showing for the ball, missed a chance but thought he played well. 7 Bernard - Lively, played well but never a threat. Tends to receive the ball back to goal rather than make runs. Subs: Holmes - Very lively and so much more intelligent than Puncheon. 7 Dixon - Played well 6 Comments: 442 is producing no goals. We are now a passing team with a weak midfield - change to a 451 until we have different personnel in............... Like what I see of Atkins so far and would pay to watch this kind football - the goals will come in time. Forget trying to get promotion this year and concentrate on long term - if we get there though great!

Dan I don't know you though I am a daily reader of the Echo. I have to say my opinion - for what it's worth is that the so called fans representives the paper continues to publicise in shape of SISA and the 'Trust' is it, are not representing anyone but their very small minority selves. As such the Echo should not be touting their opinions and giving them the completely out of proportion editorial space they do. Your excuses on this matter are excruciating and nausious. If you gave these people the one inch of space you gave other fans opinions your excuses would hold more water. My conclusion is you are stoking up issues and controversy where none exists in the main fan base and stroking the ego's of a couple of people nobody cares about or wants to be associated with. The Echo loses so much credibilty when it prints such irrelevant nonsence written and quoted by nobodies with opinions that people are tired of seeing and are not representive. Further more I would be hypocritical if I offered my own name and contact details for you to tout my opinions and results of silly meetings if I called one with my mates. It's not news Dan so pretend it is !

Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up
captainchris replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Oh so so true. What the heck was the reason we didn't either sign them or replace them. It was patently obvious they were driving our team. It was also obvious Pardew didn't like Waigo and was not fussed about loosing either of them. To not replace them was nothing short of incompetent!. -
AL in a different league to any of the rest......our results without him are no coincidence!
-
Surely not - for gods sake don't believe what wilkins tels you Nigel....
-
He motivates the hell out of me - I can't stop smiling.... If the players aren't excited by having this guy in charge they bloody well should be !!!
-
A classic - brilliant!

Does anyone know WHAT IS GOING ON ! This is just nuts. This ship is about to ground on the rocks and no one seems to want to call a lifeboat. Where is the bloody captain and what the hell is he doing? It seems to me he has locked himself in his cabin and is crying in the corner. Sort yourself out Cortese, you're falling well below the high standards you set everyone else!!!!!!!!!
-
INTERVIEWS........... We seem to have contrived to even mess this up, offering Howe the job before asking him IF he would take the job IF offered it. You DO NOT offer the job first before finishing ALL your negotiating !!!! This includes any possible compensation negotiations (Atkins). Cortese has been alarmingly poor at this area of business, by his CV and what we are lead to believe his experience in business is this is should have been elimentry ............
-
This amounts to bad management. Without those two we are 50% down on players who make a real difference. It was glaringly obvious but nothing was done about it. Pardew and Cortese to blame. Without AL we are team of triers with little difference to any other team and add that to Papa and Antonio you have the sum total of a team of average underachievers!!!!!!! Wake up this is how it is........
-
One of the few. Yes but it's a giant size reason - about 10 times more of a reason than shaky substitutions or his other numerous average to poor decisions. Not having Waigo and Antonio is massively glaring and stupid.
