What is this obsession with 'high profile'..........Who do Bournemouth have who is high profile - come to that MK Dons and Huddersfield and Exeter who punching above their weight. Quality yes - high profile not necessarily.........
-
Totally agree. I have yet to see Richardson complete two passes in a row to a saints player - Defending - If we have the ball the other team can't score - that's good defending! Plus DB reads the game better and is more aware..................

You talk about games in hand as guaranteed points on the board.....The team with the points on the board are Bournemouth not us.................

Question for the Negative-Thinkers after the Colchester result
captainchris replied to dune's topic in The Saints
This post is a joke right?................Nobody is looking for perfection but honest realistic assessment of the performances which have been worryingly unconvincing lately. Results are inconsistent due to a lack of playing strategy - if you think that is not true then show me results in last 5 weeks that disprove the inconsistency facts. We are hoping for the best in most matches which won't get us where we are supposed to be heading for....................................................This is a fact - not negativity or disloyalty - we are are not controlling games like we should be and it needs sorting or the inconsistent theme will persist...... -
Our was 'measured' for Adkins first two or three games but game by game it has become the exact same style as Pardew.....This is why we are inconsistant. Brighton pass, pass, pass and dominate nearly every game we don't! Result - inconsistancy - ala Pardew. I thought NA was brought in to sort this out but there is absolutely no difference between him and AP. The 'Southampton style' is not evident yet.........For ever sinse the excellent Tranmere game at home we have been noticably loosing the thread.......with loss of strategy.

Sorry, can you explain the relevance of this post?
-
What do you mean 'what' - it's a fair comment.....

You obviously haven't seen Richardson play or you wouldn't be resorting to putting him in. Retaining possession is our problem at the moment and that's one thing Richardson definitely cannot do! As I said before if Richardson is the answer what is the question?
-
No it was not a good night for us - we failed to take advantage of a rare opportunity to gain ground on teams around us - again! These opportunities do not come along every week! The performance was poor again - no getting away from it. We were really really poor against Carlisle and in the previous game to that etc- in fact we haven'y played well except for 60mins against ManU second 11 for a few weeks - this is turning out to be a recuring theme - this is the problem - it's not a one off at Hartlepool is more general than that....

SAINTS fans - probably the hardest to please in the world
captainchris replied to theyin's topic in The Saints
FOOTBALL IS ABOUT OPINIONS. A forum without them is dull. At the moment this forum is pretty dull!!!! Get a life - it's not life and death or work it's football, emotions, jumpers for goal posts - not constant slaps on backs and happy clappy applause for the exceptionally highly paid players that adorn our team despite poor individual or team performances. You pay your money and go along - have an opinion - good or not so - I for one want to hear it.. -
You obviously didn't go to the Posh away game in the league cup one August. He was as bad or worse than the rest of the team - used run - now and then, in wet sand.....
-
The last thing we need is the politically correct police at a football match! Football matches are not rallies for the nannie state - they are havens for passion, opinion and humour and in your cases tolerance. I would suggest, if you are very easily offended then it's best to avoid football matches all together and go and find some people to 'report' in some high crime and violence inner city area where it might do some good to society. Alternatively you could try the family section of course !

This is ironic - right !!!!? Please say it is.......

Spot on!

We are looking more and more Pardewesque ................Long balls a plenty, vulnerable to pace, loosing the midfield, unable to react to dominant opposition tactics, sticking to two up front - if not almost three when we can't get hold of the ball..........We can't keep the ball so we bring on Richardson who has completed two passes to his team mates all season! If Richardson is the answer what is the question?
-
Not the back five perhaps but himself........ We were out numbered and outplayed in midfield - Diamond my arese.....It ok where it fits but not every bloody game. They ran riot down the planks most of the game - there was little protection for the back four all the game. I'm an Adkins fan but his tactical decisions are becoming very suspect. We are hoofing it more and more - were fortunate at Exeter and very fortunate at Peterborough!
-
Sweeping up in no mans land like that is his problem and has been so many times in his career - bad decision making in exactly that type of situation. That is true and we don't often give Bart a chance so we don't know whether he would be an improvement - my hunch is he would be better - lets play him and find out because one thing that is for sure, most agree there isn't a lot between them so there little to loose and possible quite a bit to gain..
-
This is said in jest - I hope!!
-
We are hoofing it thats what is going wrong. If we cant play a passing game with this expensive group of players NIGEL when can we?

There seems to be a remarkable amount of praise for Puncheon on this thread and probably more than his contribution deserved. His first touch was 'fine' but his vision was poor along with his enthusiasm. He very rarely affected a game in a score changing way and I don't just mean he didn't score, he didn't assist either. He's a bit of a 'look at me' pretty pretty boy but not football savvy or particularly skillfull. His shooting was nothing short of terrible and runs into dangerous positions were non existant as was his defending.......= lazy A player of dubious quality and would agree with posters mentioning his suspect attitude. Keep your expectations low and you won't be dissapointed. Good luck with BT always loved him here.

What can we take forward from yesterday..
captainchris replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Totally disagree with this. His influence would totally change a match and the way others play. The ball sticks with AL and is so rarely given away, this changes the whole comlex of the game as the statistics prove beyond doubt! His absense in no way excuses the other players form when he isn't in the team but it without doubt does affect the them - even against Man U where we were unable to keep possesion when we had control of the game and more importantly later when we were tiring - hugely miss him ....!! -
Man City forum - just before we score (and the goal etc of course)
captainchris replied to Rut's topic in The Saints
Referee terrible and is obviously a Muauer fan. The 'fouls' he gave them in the second half were so far off the rules and Guly being completely bundled off the ball without getting a thing - What the hell was that about?????? According to the City fans he does this all time, favouring Man u. He gave them 'fouls' continually in the second half. Something was definately very strange about his performance.......... -
I think you could be right there........

Didn't Holloway say exactly the same line again this week about a team who alledgedly tapped up one of his players - 'they've got no respect' the guy obviously has a severe complex - a huge insecure attention seeker....
