  1. Eric Martin - legend never had so much fun as watching that team in those days.... Should have played for Scotland but unfortunately we were not very fashionable in those days. Unsung hero well protected by walker and McGrath of course ;-) ... Fond memories ......
  2. They are finding out that Pardew has little idea tactically and it was only a matter of time before he was found wanting. He will not repeat last year's results.....We can win this IF we don't take a twelve bore to our feet again defensively...
  3. Come on, Antonio was twice the player De Ridder was was for us...
  4. Completely agree with this post. Being tough but fair is fine but unreasonable is not acceptable and from what I have been told the court agrees, this was totally out of order. Whilst I support the club I do not support bad payers.
  5. Why is it that when players aren't picked because they are not good enough some people forget why they are not in the team. Kelvin is not good enough and if he doesnt play for another ten years he will still not be good enough!!!! :-))))
  6. fOX ??? Why - that's all!
  7. Perhaps more a culture of not paying bills. I knew about this none payment for the refurb of the prawn sandwich area a good while back and have heard it's a very similar situation with Staplewood. We don't pay up and try to say it's because of a dispute which was actually manufactured......I think it's sad and dislike companies who put back paying by engineering disputes. We are now getting a uneviable reputation for this in the building trade and probably eleswhere too. In the case of the Lee on Solent company, they are small and the cash flow issues caused were very hard for them to navigate through - what a shame that our club was dragged through the courts for this and that a good local firm has had to suffer....
  8. Subs should be listening to every detail discussed at half time. Every piece of information is vital to winning a game.....
  9. ????????????????? What is this thread about?
  10. Yet another so called 'Fan' who thinks that fans with an opposing opinion to his are in some way inferior and classified as unworthy for some idealistic, bias unproven reason. Fans who think differently to you deserve respect - they cannot be classified in some simplistic disrespectful way. Your selfish arrogant minority opinion does not belong on an open forum for ALL Saints fans. You make yourself out to be some sort of lone Martyr who has a monopoly on supporting Saints in tough times - you are not. Your value as a fan is no greater than any other fan... no matter what their opinion or regularity of buying a ticket!
  11. . Wrong, it was Adkins choice he didn't rate him apparently...
  12. Excuse me for being a 'Simpleton' but the players have singularly failed to get used the present 'style' and 'formation' so a new one will not confuse them any more. You make an excellent case for the prosecution in that we have no successful system now so changing things will not have an adverse effect on that!
  13. No he didn't 'do his job' last year...... He was very poor last year too and we were constantly exposed down his side last year.....Watching Fox is like watching a pantomine - You are always wanting to shout to him ' He's behind you' - a really useless player and always has been!
  14. The points you make are so valid. Hammond was one of our most consistent players and best performers in that midfield defensive role but not replaced, Harding - not a world beater but do Much better than Fox and at the very least an alternative - sold and not replaced Sharp loaned out and replaced with a cover man for Lambert who actually plays out of position with him in the same team and a new system! The whole thing is disjointed and quite bizarre. IF Atkins was responsible for these rash sackings he should be culpable for the decisions he makes along with the rather strange substitutions, team organisation and team selections which have often blatantly stank of panic selections along with a total Blindness to certain players lack of ability..... I do not concur with people who say give him more time. His management has become a Keystone Cops chapter of disasters. Not only will the players confidence be shot to peices now but his own confidence will be shot too and the players will know this. Under all these circumstances it is impossible for him to continue. Indecision is now even affecting the Chairman I would say....The situation is untenable - it cannot continue......
  15. We would not do any worse under a new manager. Nigel is a nice man but there is too much wrong with so many things on the pitch to leave the manager the same.......I would hate Redknapp to be here but right now I'd take him! The organisation of the team is NA's resonsibility and it's frankly dire!
  16. That did make me laugh on a bleak day....
  17. Did the players look as though they still had confidence in him last night????
  18. 'Unlucky' yep that's it - it's just unlucky, football is a game of luck and we are not getting any!!!
  19. I don't think for a very long time have we played so badly having spent so Much money ! This is the point-we really are very poor not just a little unlucky but really very poor indeed. Not only this but the players are no longer playing for the manager... I think the game is up and no use pretending we might get better..... If anything we are getting worse so what is the point in continuing to just hope for an improvement if we don't change the man conducting the orchestra.... We have three home games now in four matches this is the critical Moment right now... We need to change the whole rut we are in and this can only be achieved by new thinking and new strategy - I really do not believe that NA can change the lack of belief now- the tipping point has been reached.....
  20. You cannot be serious!
  21. Oh thankyou for the best post to show those that think we should only be expected to be beating bottom half teams - Wigan excepted of course and also Leeds of course and by and large very poor performances too but hey, lets concentrate on the possitives - shouldn't take long...... We are off the pace, the results, performances and league position all tell us the same thing! We have to compete with the top teams too, to be thinking anything else is to bury your head in the sand......
  22. And picking Fox is your version of 'keeeping it tight' .........not very tight then....
  23. One thought has occurred to me that, if QPR lose Mark Hughes could get the heave ho...........This might just save Adkins for another week or two if we lose on Monday.....
  24. I have no idea of the context of your post at all.........
  25. Just look at today's results to see how little sense this makes. With that philosophy we are only playing to win in a few games - the spelling of the opposition name must have no bearing on our resolve or attitude towards a game. If we are to make progress as a professional team - don't forget we are professional, the first thing you must eradicate is 'pecking order'. The first rule of sport. Anyone who has this disabling burden carried with him onto the field of play cannot start for they have already lost.......Supporters who peddle this low self esteem trait must think again for a satisfaction with certain results against certain teams will result in a low expectation and poor results.
