  1. We've lost eight all season (all competitions) two of those againts EPL teams not bad really. We are not an easy team to beat this season (unlike last season), just need to convert a few more draws into wins a we will be the real deal. Still a fantastic result today COYR.
  2. **** me, I had to go to a family function today, came home stuck on the computer expecting to have lost only to find out we've tonked Norwhich 2-0 in their own backyard all I can say is Get the **** in COYR!
  3. A toss up between Hooilhann and Snodgrass of Leeds I'd say I'd love to have either in our team. Although what you have to remember about Norwhich is (to quote from an earlier posting) Lambert is doing a fantastic job with some average players. Pardew is doing an averge job with some very good L1/CCC players So I think we will win this becuase we've spent more money than Norwhich this season.
  4. One has to wonder why your a saints fan then. I love this club but I have never tried to kid myself that one FA cup trophy and a couple of good seasons in the late 70 early 80s aside we have ever been any thing but average (or even poor at times) as a club for many years. Quite frankly that doesn't matter to me supporting a team is about more than only cheering when they're winning. The fact is this season is better than the last two at least and many more before that. If NC expected promotion this season then he is being unrealistic just like you.
  5. Wasted words site agent might as well smack your head against a brick wall.](*,)
  6. I'm more than grown up thanks. The fact that you need to right grow up suggests I'm not the one with maturity issues. There's a difference between being content with second best and moaning like **** about eveything, as you do. The thing is this season is not second best we have lost less games this season than in any of the last three seasons at the same stage, including our play off season. We've reached a couple final which we've done what three times since 76. Just becuase you had deluded yourself into thinking we where going to run away with this league doesn't mean it was going to come true. There is no way you or anyone else is going to tell me this season is worse than the last two seasons end of. Trying looking for something positive to say you might even enjoy it of course it's a lot easier to just type winging moaning drivel all the time isn't it?
  7. Much like enjoying being a saints supporter isn't yours.
  8. Your right fred I'm offically a ****:smt011 I was thrown by this statement but we started 10 behind and are now 22 behind Should have checked still I still think having three games in hand makes our postion looks worse than it is. Until the season ends it's hard to tell how badly or well we've done.
  9. No If we won our three games in hand and added back the 10pts we would be 2nd in the league and ahead of Leeds at this point. To be honest it's hard to say if the season is poor (or good) until it's actual finished. Hopefully for your sake we will win every game six-nil next season and you can actually enjoy supporting saints.:smt090
  10. We also have three games in hand over Norwhich. If we won those three games and added the ten back on we would be second in the table a point ahead of Leeds and three points behind Norwhich:shock:
  11. Don't we have the top scorer in the league? We have only failed to score in three matches this season in all competitions which hardly suggests we are struggling to score. To be honest you only have to score once each game if you don't concede, which is more of a problem this year for us rather than scoring. It's not our strikers that are the problem its our defence who have only kept eight clean sheets all season. Hopefully we can get a settled back four for the rest of the season to up our clean sheets.
  12. From where I was sitting he certainly looked done for pace to me, in fairness so did Harding, Thomas and everyone else trying to get back for the skates last two goals. I'd be tempted to play perry with Fonte myself but I'm pretty sure it will be Seabourne and Fonte HTH.
  13. Crap! What do you base that on then? what makes Norwhich players more average than ours? Their league postion doesn't lie its not their manager out their scoring the goals, defending etc it's the Norwhich players. I love the way some saints fans think we have a team of Glacticos just becuase we spent a couple of million. Lambert is the only player we can say is the best in league one becuase he is the leagues highest scorer. With the rest of the team it's just your opinion For example some norwhich players Defender Gary Doherty has scored five goals this season and used to play for the spuds is he better than Jhadi? Midfielder Wes Hoolahan is a Irish international scored 13 goals and has 15 asssits is he better than Lallanna? Midifielder Stephen Hughes is a Scottish iternational has played for Rangers won the Scottish preimership and played in the championship he hasn't scored this year so does that make him better than Morgan? Right back Russell Martian captained Peterbrough to automatic promtion last season is he better than John Ostsemboor? well pretty likely really as he replaced him. Honestly people just form opinions on other teams with no knowledge of the other team at all. Yes we have spent money but that doesn't mean our players are better it just means we spent more money on them. Until all our new players are playing in a settled team on a regular basis we wont know how good they are or aren't. It's not like saints have a history of buying crap players for to much money is it ?
  14. I believe Glasgow only counts league results if you add in cup games then it's correct, of course cup games don't help in the league. In reality both sides here are showing the figures that back up their arguements. We have won more than Glasgow says however his is correct the extra wins don't help the league results. I suppose it depends on weather you think a season is just about the league. For myself I like a good cup run, winning a cup would make me happy. If however all you want is a quick return to mid table obscurity of the EPL then the cups are just a waste of time. Just ask NC;)
  15. Problem is "best players" is subjective what you, I and AP think are the best players in the best postions could well be different. The difference is AP see the players all week and knows who's performing in trainning. I see the players a couple of times a month, and from your posts I think you see them even less than I do (correct me if I'm wrong). So whose in the best place to judge who the best players are you,me or AP? As for changing the team, dammned if he does dammned if he don't. Some changes are forced cup ties, injuries etc. Mean while for every fan screaming Papa must play another one screams why the **** is he playing. If you asked on here for our best 11 you'd end up with 20+ different replies I reckon. Seems this football lark isn't quite as simple as your answer:shock:
  16. Then what happens to Lallana? We've actually got to the state where we seem to have enough good players to cover most postions twice which must make APs team selection a lot harder.
  17. ****ing hell when you get on your soap box you really like to beat an idea to death don't you. I think we all now know you don't rate Papa so why not give it a rest:smt102 Which of our many EPL quaility strikers would you like AP to play?
  18. We will lose........ then people will start slitting their wrists and calling for APs head.
  19. So are most league one players and if they're not naive it's becuase they're old heads (like Chris Perry) with legs like jelly. Papa and Antonio are our two quickest players both are not the most skillful, both can look like ducklings on ice both have a suspect first touch. However thier pace and battling has got us quite a few goals. Papa is still the JPTs top scorer I believe so if we win the JPT it will be in no small part to Papa for that reason alone I would keep him.
  20. Between the Brighton and Leeds games we won six (four in the league) and drew one game hardly throwing it away. Our blip in form has come in late December and January coincided with Hammonds injury, new faces joining the team and some tough away games. At home we've continued to win in that time. We might have (probably should have) done better at Exeter. The thing is APs damned what ever he does it seems. If we win people say we didn't play well we should have scored at least six. If we lose people say why didn't we win, if we draw it's not good enough. In some cases they may have a point but I think people may see some of our results in a different light if they looked a bit further than a teams name when deciding what the score should be, teams don't just roll over becuase they're playing the mighty Southampton. Interesting that Leeds and charlton fans on 606 are starting to complain about their managers being second and fourth isn't enough for them it seems:shock:.
  21. As you say not the same. It's one thing dropping points but at least getting the chance to play for them it's total another to have them taken away with no chance of getting them. If we did what you say in your example there would still be a chance those at the top can slip up and we can claw the points back becuase we are all playing for the same points. This year saints are playing for 10 pts less than everyone else we can't change that unless all the league one teams go bust and all take a 10 point penalty.
  22. Yeah thats what I was trying to say;)
  23. Yes but top managers may still not want to drop down the leagues reputation some times means more than money the same as it does for players.
  24. You have to factor in who they've played as well (i don't know with out checking the fixitures) but these teams may have had easier (on paper) games than us we've had some tough away fixitures in the League. All this balances out though as everyone has to play the same matches, we have games in hand, and (on paper) some easier games at home to come. It's not like playing cup games gives us less league games to play.
  25. Southend (away) Mk Dons (twice at home) Gillingham (at home) Ok we haven't one any six-or seven nils but those sort of games come once every few seasons. We've played some good stuff this year, asking us to not only win matches but win them while playing like Brazil is asking to much for a league one side. Looking at the table we've have lost a similar number of games to most of the top sides the difference is we have had to many draws if AP can turn the draws into wins next season it's all good. If he can't then he's probably out of a job but I think we have to give him the chance.
