  1. Of course they have a very good defender by the name of Trotman on loan from Preston will be interesting to see how he copes with Lambert;) I think this will be tough, Huddersfield are miles better than Walsall no 5-1 for this match I think. Depends which players turn up for us the team from Saturday or the team from last Tuesday. As we're at home I'll go 2-1 to us but my head tells me it will be a draw.
  2. I picked up this posted by St Landrew on another thread Steve Claridge made a very good point twice, after both sets of League One highlights, and that was that in any of the other leagues, where playoffs are contested, the teams under the top 7 would be well in contention if they had 40+ points. Not in League One though, as the top 7 seem to be pulling up the ladder behind them. What it means is, if League One were running to average, Saints would be well in contention for playoff status, instead of struggling 17 points behind. I'm sure I'll be told it's just another excuse, but it would seem that this was not the season to give everyone a 10 pt head start. I wonder what the league was like the year leeds scraped into the play offs after their points deduction Thoughts?
  3. Surely the point is though that a big part of those resources people keep banging on about have only been here since January in that time we have lost one game to an EPL team have won seven games and drawn four. Before christmas our only big money spending where Lambert and Hammond all our other new players where frees and loans (ie other peoples rejects). So APs massive advantage in resources was in fact a 1m striker and and a 300k midfielder. More than other teams spent but still only two players. Yes we've spent a lot in January but our record since has been very good (one loss).
  4. Yes I can't help but think you're right, other fans must wonder what some SFC fans are on, when they hear our fans talking about the playoffs.
  5. Maybe to you. I was two when we won the FA cup this will be the first time I have a real chance* of seeing saints lift a ****ing trophy in years so it means a lot to me and my eight year old who wants to his team win something. *note I don't count 2003 as Arse where so much better than us I never expected to win the cup.
  6. I wasn't telling you I was just pointing out some fans don't count cup games. Merely an observation no need to be denfensive.:goodman:
  7. Ah but some of our fans don't include cup matches when deciding how well AP is doing. Apparently cups are worthless and a distraction, only league games count........apparently
  8. In fairness I have to agree with him. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind, but I think it's just to much to do this season. Playoffs or not I haven't enjoyed a season this much in years.
  9. Yep I picked up on that. I hope NC was watching might give him (and some of our own fans) puase for thought.
  10. I can't believe that we don't get any talk time after the highlights again, that's two weeks in a row we've had arguably the best result of the day and yet they don't want to talk about it. Maybe late kick off might have a bit more on monday night.
  11. No but we've drawn away from home to some teams with unfashionable names QED we are a terrible team. Apparently draws away from home are unacceptable to NC and some of our fans.
  12. I can just see them doing the double over us this year. Although they do seem to play better away from home so we might be alright. Also half the team will be different for the JPT match due to cup tied rules, so we will have some fresh legs for the Brighton game.
  13. Followed by being subbed around 55 minutes, mind you I think thats three goals he has scored since the move, which is one more than Barnard;)
  14. I would expect you to be a bit happier if that's the case :smt103
  15. Seems to be quite good natured so far, but I'll keep my helmet handy just in case;)
  16. Becuase they don't have any paitence. I have a feeling some of our fans are embarrassed to be in league one. Some still see us as a EPL team who shouldn't be where we are. The Chairman made one comment a few weeks ago which some feel vindicated their postion and they have siezed upon it. My take is we are where we are on merit there's nothing to embarrassed about. I can't believe anyone would argue that we are not better than the last few seasons, the problem seems to be how long we all think the turn around back to the higher leagues should take.
  17. badgerbadger so your'e to blame for all our draws, a course of viagra for the rest of the season then for a rash of 5-0 wins to the saints;)
  18. Mystic VectisSaint?
  19. Yes that bit;) I'd be happy with that timetable, but some want it quicker than that and according to them so does NC.
  20. That would be a good match to see unless of course saints went six up first;)
  21. Excellent I hadn't thought of that one 1-5 saints win 6 saints loss that would work.
  22. I was just wondering how people make their predictions for Saints games. We all do it but what formula/techniques do you use to decide which team should win (and possibly the score). Having looked around this forum here are a few options that seem to be used 1) Team names - does the oppostion team have a unfashionable name. Had you never heard of the oppostion team before this season. If the answers yes than they must be crap = saints win 2) Stadium - does the oppostion team have a better stadium than st Marys. If not they must be crap = saints win 3) Attendence levels - does the oppostion team have less fans than saints. If so they must be crap = saints win 4)Team costs - do you add up the cost of the two teams. If the oppostion team costs less it must = saints win 5) League postion - teams above us = saints loss teams below us = saints win 6) General feeling - If you think the other team is crap = saints win if you think saints are crap = saints loss 7) Do a bit of research - check out the oppostion team website for player stats new loan signings etc, check out some fan forums to get a feeling of how their fans view the upcoming match, check out the oppostions recent form = saints ? Personally I quite enjoy doing number 7. I find it helps me get some perspective on our results and some times even predict the result. Of course any of the above are equally valid as this is football where a whole match can turn on the desicion of an over zelous referee, a random moment of magic from a player, or the intervention of the woodwork which throw all predictions out the window. So what works for others?
  23. It has to be said when I talk to other saints fans at work or at st Marys they do seem a lot more positive than the many on here. Maybe I just don't hang around in the right places (like Glasgow, or the Alps).
  24. Thats funny to me a good match is high tempo, lots of hard tackles, players showing passion, a few goals and a few bits of individual skill. Another reason why some fans are never going to be happy if we play the way you enjoy I'd be bored. If we play matches the way I enjoy you'd be offended by the lack of high skill. Each to their own.
  25. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA no chance Glasgow postive vibes in every post from you I just wish the rest of the forum where as postive as you ****ing moaners the lot of them:smt082
