  1. Quite season after season of hanging on by our fingernails doesn't fill me with excitment. We don't have MLT to brighten up those dire seasons this time round either.
  2. His girlfriend is a lovey guy I didn't know Surman was like that;)
  3. I probably won't be able to afford it as much when/if we get back to the EPL. £19.00 for me and the nipper is good value for a saints match. Arsenal charge £18.50 for a child to attend an A class match in the family enclousre and £48.00(!!!!) for an adult. If we copy that sort of pricing I'll be lucky to go three times a year. I'd be happy to go back to the coke a cola and be a top half fizzy pop team, but really the EPL just leaves me cold. However I think our owners are set on the EPL and I don't think these are men who fail. I think being in league one gives us the chance to feel like a big fish in a small pond. However the club will suffer in the long run if we don't get back to a higher league.
  4. yes I do, they've got worse as this season has gone on, we've outplayed them everytime we've meet this season, we are dare I say it their boggey team.
  5. Great Reading can take Surman so we can buy Church off Reading, Church has looked good this season, reckon he'd look better in a saints shirt though.
  6. Cheers better go and buy some now.:smt023
  7. Who would he replace? I suppose he could go the bench as useful cover not much different to his current postion with wolves;).
  8. Normally I'd agree with you fans can be very partisan about these things. But I think the ref lost his way in this match. I was only listening on the radio but when the commentators spend more time talking about the ref than the match you know something is not right. Still nothing to be done Leeds next week win that and we will all forget about this one.
  9. Leeds build up? I've got several more days of mopping about last saturday yet before my re-newed opptomism kicks in for next saturday.
  10. My eight year old had a choice of names for his no 7 saints top and went with Le Tiss over Lambert. He loves watching Le tiss goals. When ever we go to the park for a kick around we have to pratice that free kick were Le Tiss flicks it up and hits it on the volley. Sadly for my boy his manager at Wyvern Saints thinks he's a much better RB than a midfielder (I have to agree) so he has no chance to put his free kicks into action on the pitch.
  11. That fact that we won't draw so many home games will be the difference next year. We started poorly at home this season with to many draws, looking at our home form now I don't believe that will happen next year. our away form is not that bad win at home draw away is what we need, we are capable of that. we will lose the odd game away but we will win a few as well as we have done this year. It's really not hard to understand. 1) We started poorly this season, there are reasons (or if you perfer excuses) for this but that killed our season off early. Those factors won't be there next season. 2) The team we have now has only being playing together for a few weeks it doesn't resemble the team that started the season. Barring some sort of fire sale this will be the team that starts next season.
  12. Does it really matter? Don't get me wrong I'd love to see Rickie stay but 1) If he goes we will make money which we can stregthen the team with, there's no way we will let him go cheap. 2) Unlike the prevoius owners I actually believe our new owners will replace out going players with quaility replacements rather than cheap dross. 3) there's plenty of talent we can plunder from the lower leagues with our money, If Lambert goes I suggest we take both of Swindons strikers:badgrin:.
  13. Didn't we try that last season. If the Dutch clowns are an example of European football I'm quite happy with the solid English style football we are playing this year. I have to say (and its all opinion) I'm a big fan of hard tackling, big gutsy English style with players called Chopper and Razor, with the odd flair play thrown in. Sadly we are still missing a Chopper I think a hard dirty bastard would be useful in this league, sadly I dont think Hammond is it.
  14. As we've spent more money than any other team in the divison we should never lose to any team in the division then? remind who was the last team to go all season without losing? we will lose matches regardless of how much money we spend.
  15. I agree he is a talented ball player but I feel he misses chances and could be more prolific if he did more simple things Not entirely, not even largely, but he blew a couple of very good chances. Lallana missed two supposedly straightforward chances at vital times. I have to say "again", because he can't seem to score at vital times. Lallana needs some finishing practice too. He seems unable to put away the chances that fall to him in games Well these are all posts from this thread (there are more) but if you think no one is suggesting Lallana can't score fair play. Even complaining about his lack of service seems odd considering how free scoring we've been this year. I'm all for dropping a player who isn't performing but I can't see how Lallana is weakening our team.
  16. Not sure what your point is but we've picked up 13pts from these teams, for two points a game (of which I'm informed is championship winning level) we would have had to pick up 16pts from these teams so we're not that far off, we needed to beat Brentford at home and draw with Tranmere yesterday (which we would have done bar a dodge penalty) so we do need to do a bit better it's true, but we've certainly picked up more than 3 pts againt these teams.
  17. Can't argue with that on the radio they said Tranmere hadn't played for eleven days. So maybe there was an air of fatigue on our side after some very good displays. We were the better team in the first half according to the radio and came out bright at the start of the second half. Frustration (with the ref) and tiredness did seem to effect our second half display.
  18. Interesting the OS has Lallana down as a striker not a midifielder. Our top assists man is Lambert but I'm sure no one thinks we should move him out to midfield. Also I note that Lallana has scored more goals than probably the best two midfielders in the division this season Snodgrass of Leeds has 8 Hoolahain of Norwich has 13 This being the case suggesting he is not scoring enough comes across as laughable.
  19. Oh behave :smt018 were talking about a midfielder who has scored 14 goals this season (that is more than quite a few strikers in this league) and is rated by football pundits and sports writers in the press, he also often singled out by other teams fans as one of our best players. No player should be untouchable but becuase he has missed some shots he should be dropped? Lamberts missed a few so has Barnard, Fonte missed one today should we drop all of them.
  20. He does have 14 goals (all competitions) this season which is pretty good for a mifielder. Hell there are quite a few strikers in this league who have scored less.
  21. Hey it's all opinions but he has looked good when I've seen him. If I recall after the pompey match the chief sports writer of the NOTW claimed Lallana was a class above the rest of our team. Other pundits seem to rate him to, Merrington ****ing loves him. Of course they could all be wrong
  22. Well that's football for you, even people at the same match have wildly differing ideas about the penalty desicions.
  23. They have have had an eleven day break since their last game, may have something to do with it.
  24. Sorry have we lost to any of these teams? no so what excuse do we need?
  25. Sorry isn't this our first loss in 2010 hardly qualifies as getting de-railed on a regular basis.
