The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

Kisnobro from leeds to partner Fonte would be a ****ing immense back two. I also think Snodgrass is quaility although we are doing quite well for wingers. Midfield is our main weakness though I haven't seen anyone from other teams that stood out for me this season in that postion so who knows. -
No to many draws at home. Win your home games draw/win your away games = 2 pts per game more than good enough. However we drew to many games early in the season at home (plus losing three yes three whole games at home this season) means we're of the pace. Any other season last night would be a good result but in a season where we gave everyone a 10pt head start it won't be good enough to get to the playoffs.

We didn't play denfensivley we had more shots on goal than Brighton FFS
-
And that is the source of your pain, if football was that predictable we would all give up watching.
-
I'll say it again we actually had more shots at goal than Brighton which sort of puts paid to the idea we where being defensive.
-
Not on the radio I was listening to it didn't. We got a draw for FFS we didn't actually lose.
-
Is anyone? football has to many varibles for dead certs, who knows what might happen next season?
-
Not expecting us to go up next year? or are you expecting Brighton to get promoted with us?
-
Those that where there couldn't see anything , the radio commentary sound pretty even (they where better early on, we where on top before half time we came out better at the start of the second half, their subs put them back on top finally our subs put as back in control). The BBC match stats give them slightly more possession but us more chances on goal all in all an even match. AP claiming we bossed it is a bit strong but the same token it wasn't saints with their backs to the wall for 90mins either.

Great plan eveytime someone beats us (sorry gets a draw with us) we give their manager a job that way will always have the best manager:smt101
-
. Yep if we go up (which we won't) the tickets will cost more. One of the very selfish reasons I'm hoping we don't go up this year is so I can afford a season ticket and see us go up a champions next year:p
-
So defensive we actually had more shots than Brighton during the game according to the offical stats:smt101
-
Do you mean we as in the fans:confused: I believe AP was playing the formation he wanted. To be honest we have no idea what information manager has about players, the oppostion etc that helps him decide how to approach a match. AP must have felt 4-5-1 the way to go on based on the information he had.

Brighton are a far better side than carlisle HTH.
-
Agreed. I was always told away draws where decent results if you have strong home form. We'd be what two points off the playoffs with nine matches to go without the points penalty and this would look like an ok result.
-
What do you expect the players and managment to say? Interviewer = "so Kelvin can saints still make the play offs?" KD = " Well the playoffs have been out of reach for months now so we're just going to avoid relegation and try again next year "
-
4-4-2 without Morgan is a risky prospect. I just don't think AP excpects the midifield to achieve much without Morgan so he is looking for other options. It didn't work tonight but we still got a point at a tough away game, in most seasons that would be a good result just not this season (we didn't lose though)
-
Fonte - 7 - Was okay, think hes played better Fonte our best player by a mile, won everything and even showed drive going forward Funny how people see things differntly;)
-
More of a reaction to missing Morgan I reckon. I think AP knows our midfield without Morgan is weak (I mean Wotton com'on). Last sunday he went for the route one option to avoid midfield which worked a treat. Today he tried to pack midfield to stop us being overun by Brightons five man midfield, it didn't work. He did go all out with the subs which did work, although I think he probably should have made the changes earlier. In a normal season a point away from home against a top 3 form side we be an alright result. Unfortunetly this isn't a normal season.

I have to say listening to the radio (I know) the ref seemed to give a lot more our way than Brightons. Also the BBC stats seem to suggest a pretty even match slighty more posession to Brighton more shots on goal to us.

Well the sorry state of modern football means the cups aren't a priority for people anymore all that matters is reaching the promised land of mid-table obscurity in the EPL. Gone are the days when the cups where big trophies, chairmen, fans and managers are all more interested in the leagues now days:(. To be honest I think there is some merit in what AP says about going out to win every match no matter if it is a cup match or a league match winning games is a good habit to have. I love cup competitions, in general the matches are always more memorible and more action packed becuase you have to win you can't play for a point. Having said that I except most on here (and NC) don't see it that way and the league is more important to them I just thinks it's a shame that people want to discard the cups so easily.
