  1. Well no one would blame him for going either he'd be 30-31 and running out of time to play at a higher level so if he went it would be with my thanks and wishing him luck.
  2. I have to agree I thought Seabourne looked good yesterday. Playing next to Fonte means he's probably always going to look a bit underpar next to such a classy player. He may not be as good as Fonte (but not many are at this level) but that doesn't mean he is not a good player at this level. That freekick was never a free kick IMO they both challenged for the same ball. If that had been Lambert at the other end nothing would have been given. Defenders climb all over lambert every match and get away with it while our defenders seem to get penalised for doing the same thing at the other end of the pitch.
  3. I like cup competitions so I'd like us to compete in all competitions we're in. However rotating the squad is not a bad idea. Lets face it we won the JPT Final with a second string we should have a big enough squad to cope I think. I'd quite like to be the first team to retain the JPT (which is the one we are most likely to win really)
  4. Cheaper match tickets;)
  5. Yeah can't do any harm if he wins the kiss of death that is manager on the month now.
  6. I'm quite impressed they've got promoted considering the problems they've had. In truth though with the resources they have (or in their case haven't) do they really think they'll last more than a season in league one? I love the bit on link above where they say we will struggle to get out of league one yet make not mention of how much they'll struggle to stay in it.
  7. My god you actually believe all that. Biggest pile of crock I've ever read. There's a difference between showing passion and a bit of banter and trying to attack someone over a game of football. Of couse if people didn't think violence at football matches was acceptable the police wouldn't be required and would have more resources and time to catch sex offenders and burglers. How many other criminals were getting away with it on that day becuase all those police we're required to watch over a bunch of grown men who couldn't be trusted not to have a ruck over a game of football. It's quite clear several posters feel a punch up at football is acceptable or even cool fine that's your right. Personally it doesn't turn me on and I can't have an sympathy for those involved if that makes me a self rightous **** I'll live with it.
  8. What cuase I don't feel like beating the crap out of someone after the game? Just becuase I don't notice Hammond that much doesn't mean I don't know he's doing a good job when he was injured around christmas time we looked a poorer team. The fact is we have lots of showy players now who tend attract the attention more than Hammond (or Mcnish). Hammond goes quietly about his work and is important to the team but it's the likes of Wagio, Antonio and Lambert that catch the eye.
  9. Or we could just play out from the back. Barnard and Connolly up front should still be good enough to scorce against most teams in this division. Even today Connolly showed class that was above league one (apart from his comic kick cum fall on his arse:)). Shame about his injuries one season with a fully fit Conolly would be immense.
  10. ^Thats about it. basically he has had his most enjoyable season ever here and likes being a saint. Sounds like he is more than happy to stay. Of course the offers to his agent haven't come rolling in yet. I imagine he will stay with us unless something to good to turn down comes along.
  11. Didn't notice him to honest, in fairness though I could say the same about Hammond in most games.
  12. Good day of football, great weather, good atmosphere (the Northam where in fine voice today) some good goals and a good match to watch oh and we won again:D well worth my money Sebourne was not that bad today I thought he looked very solid. The free kick looked harsh from where I was sitting, their second I pretty much missed but I think all our players just switched off with only seconds on the clock (a habit I thought we'd got rid of). Fonte's back pass was comical but luckily didn't result in any harm done. Harding looked out of sorts today (typical as I named him as my player of the season:() Papa played the whole 90 and looked really good to me, OK he had some Papa moments but in general he ran them ragged going forward and got back well to help out in defence. He could do with some tackling practice though. Antonio looked great again. We really need to get him to stay with us if we can. To be honest I thought we looked really comfortable today played some good football and like the cup finally won the game without having to really up our game. One finally thought how good is our subs bench becoming? How many teams can bring off the leagues top scorerer and bring on the leagues second top scorerer.
  13. Like most football fans I can change between happy clappy and wrist sliter on a daily basis. Sometimes from one to the other and back again all in the space of 90 minutes;)
  14. Thats my feeling on it too. I've said it before but would love to go up as champions next season rather than sneeking it in sixth. Look at how well last years champions are doing compared to last years playoff winners. I think the extra boost of knowing you were the best in the league rather than prehaps just lucky at the end can power you on the following season.
  15. Only one team have ever reached the playoffs having had a points deduction (Leeds) and none have ever been promoted. I can't help but be happy this season. Look at Stockport that so nearly could have been us if things hadn't turned out the way they did with Marcus and NC.
  16. I think Kelvin is great but Bart was fantastic when Kelvin got injured I wouldn't be unhappy to have Bart as our number one.
  17. I wonder if looking at West Ham right now Kelvin is thinking his desicion was a really good call.
  18. Back to the game I can see us winning 5-1 Carlilse are really struggling with injuries and now they have to face our strongest eleven (bar Morgan) rather than our second eleven of the cup final. Depends wheather our players can be bothered after a long season I suppose.
  19. I hope they don't go up this year I really want us to give them some payback next year. I wonder if they'll keep their strike force next season, possible replacement for Lambert if we can't keep him?
  20. I wonder if that bloke is still there, or if he left with Incey? Dons could be dangerous next year word on the street is they're linning up Tony Adams as their next boss:smt082:smt082:smt082:smt082:smt082
  21. What twice? We drew with them at there place. If we include cup games we've beaten Norwich, Brizzile and Charlton twice too. MK Dons on the other hand they're our *****es:D
  22. Are we not starting in August like the rest of League one;)
  23. Well apart from the four year parachute payments for clubs other than pompey thats really going to screw up the fizzy pop league and make it less competitive. Still things just keep getting worse for pompey don't they:D
  24. I hope not I was planning just to walk up with the nipper tommorrow I assumed everyone would save themselves for Southend.
  25. I have no idea I imagine not or clubs would be pulling out of cup comps all over the place. If we could I'd rather defend the JPT (more chance of winning) and pull out of the Carling cup. Having said that I love the cups it's sad so many clubs see them as a hindrance these days rather than something to aim for.
