Worked for Bournemouth. Not that I'd recommend it mind.

I hope not Dan is a cracking player, I assume as some have said Mills will be the one replaced. Having said that Mills has played well when called upon the odd mistake or bad game but you could say that about every player in the squad I reckon. Signing good quaility players is great I just can't help feeling left back is one of the least important areas that we need to strengthen at the moment.

It seems like half league one will be in admin or p*ss poor next season which can only be a good thing for us.

The idea of BWP in a pompey shirt made me LOL:smt042

I wonder who next seasons suprise package will be? This year it was Swindon I reckon thanks to clever use of loans and probably the player find of the year. Could it be Brizzile Rovers next year? Apparently their are strong rumours they might be signing a certain Lloyd James to play right back;)

Sheff wednesday will be the biggest club down in league one but they're saddled with debt and no sign of investment. I still excpect them to be challanging for the top spot though. The Posh are under an experinced manager at this level rumour among their fans is they are buying Matt Oakley from Leciester for 500K which is a big spend for them. Plymouth have BWP as their main striker (unless he leaves) so nothing to fear there;) Notts county have a load of debt from the Sven debacle so I imagine they'll have to sell this summer to reduce their wage bill which is rumoured to be large for a club their size. Charlton won't be the same squad next year big money problems the fans think everything worth ££ will be sold this summer. Next years team is going to be Loans and youth.

Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
doddisalegend replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Or they might look at Bale at Spurs and say I'll have some of that. Although in fairness Bale is twice the player Surman is. -
Why do fans (not just saints you see it on other fans forums to) always think bringing back old players is a good idea? Time to look forward Surman is the past.
-
Yes all clubs have one. Fans always need someone to vent their frustration on, despite being a team game one player is always more at fault it is the way of football fans.

Well they both went out on loan this season I picked this up of the net about Lee at Port Vale On 25 March 2010, he joined Port Vale on loan until the end of the season, having not settled in well at Southampton. However he never made an appearance for Vale, except in the Staffordshire Senior Cup final - a tournament for the club's reserve players. Oh dear:confused: Pulis went to Lincon Pulis became an instant first team regular at Lincoln but left the club when his loan contract expired on 7 January 2010. He had spent the previous six weeks on the injured list Paying up the contracts maybe the best thing for them It would appear they are not going to make it at league level as paid professionals.

On 606 Brizzile Rovers fans seem to think there are strong rumours he is going to sign for them, they've got him playing right back. Lallanna vs James could be fun.

A Big Thanks to Papa and Antonio as well.

Its something AP mentioned early in the season I think? he said that all though the eleven on the field looked a decent team when he turned to the bench for someone to change the game there was no quaility there. How many times did Papa or Antonio come on as a sub and help secure a win with a goal or an assist? We'll need similiar players again next season. Of course something may be going on behind the scences that we don't know about. -
You do Know NC has the same plans in mind? He has already stated that he wants the club to produce top quaility youth players for the team and bring in more home grown talent. The Idea IMO is a good one. The problem is like everything in football it requires money and investment something Lowe couldn't/wouldn't do and something NC seems likely to do.

I agree you look at our likey starting eleven and only Puncheon has a bit of pace most of them are good players at this level but slow. Hope we get Antonio back. -
Which part's not true? Lloyd james is an average player but to listen to some on here he wouldn't be fit to play Tyro under 12s that's not true. Yes there are always weaker players and now they've gone which one of our players is going to get the "to sh*t to player for us" label next year? someone will becuase thats how football fans are.
-
Maybe he was no world beater but if you listen to some fans he couldn't run, pass, dribble, tackle or score goals which wasn't true. Next year it will be some other member of the team, fans need a outlet for their frustration. I'm figuring Kelvin maybe the one.

True for what ever reason AP didn't rate him to me it's a shame nothing I can do about it though. Still I will remember him as the player that played a huge part in winning us the JPT. Many players are soon forgotten once they leave I think Papa will be remembered by many saints fans for many years to come. Cheers Papa. -
You don't think some players get dumped on by the fans more than others? A lot of the critiscm of James was just reeled of Mantra like every match regardless off how well he played. It's a bit like Papa and the offside first few matches he struggled with offside second half of the season not offside much at all yet the myth was already born. How the players deal with it who knows?

Barnard is like a poor version of Lambert I think they're too similair to play well both have the pace of a cart horse. I think a pacey player with some skill to benfit from Lambert's flick ons and be first to those second balls would be better Barnard isn't that player. IMO If papa had played every week up front I reckon he would have got more goals than Barnard this season. -
It does beg the question if we have a team full of high quaility players whose going to be next years whipping boy for the fans. Surely Lloyd should have been kept on to take all the flak from the fans relieving pressure on the rest of the squad. Personally I don't think James was nearly as bad as some make out before his injury he was playing quite well. He was no world beater and I think letting him go was probably the right descision.

Papa's not world class in fact he has probably found his level with us his best stint in Italy was playing in Serie B. Personally I'd rather have Papa up front than Barnard. -

What like scoring twice against Juventus in one match;) -
What worries me there is the lack of pace. Plus who are our match changers of the bench? Of course I'm not to worried yet, there's a long summer ahead I just hope AP is looking to some pacy wingers/strikers.

I read that most clubs have about 80% faliure rate with their academy players, in other words only 2 out of every 10 actually make it to the clubs first team. Doesn't mean these players don't go on to a carerer else where just not at their orginal club. Maybe Glenn Hoddle will pick them up for his last chance academy (although they might be to old).

Not a very good one though:p
