  1. Why do I get the feeling that some posters were hovering over their keyboards this afternoon just so they could type "told you so"? Losing to day must have been like mana for heaven for some on here.
  2. Funny I thougt we looked worse in defence with Dickson at left back. The left was more solid in the first half with Harding at LB, Dickson was excellent at LW if we had had a big man upfront instead of to short arses I think Dickson would have had more impact with his crosses. However I noticed that Harding and Dickson didn't really seem to be working as a unit, Harding made the overlapping run several times in the first half only for Dickson to cut inside and pass across field leaving Harding out of postion.
  3. Surely he had been told to kick to the wide players as RL (his normal target) wasn't in the centre of the pitch .KD rarely kicks out wide to day he did almost every kick. If your kicking to your wide players some are going to go out of touch.
  4. FFS we were not that bad! Plymouth commited daylight robbery. From where I was sat in the chapel Plymouth had one meaningful attack in 90mins, how we didn't score is beyond me. Basically we were all over them for about 85 out of 90mins practically camped out in their half most of the game. The crowd support was awful today (talk about different from the end of last season) which can't of helped the players. If we keep playing like that each week we will be all right. I think alot of people need to turn down their panic metres after one match.
  5. Well imagine explaining to NC why you we're playing the loan player every match when you'd convinced NC to fork out cash for another player in january? I'm pretty sure politics plays apart in squad selection at most clubs.
  6. You do know he was injuried for some of last season meaning he couldn't play all those games don't you?
  7. According to you. I saw enough of him last season to believe he'd be great for us. Certainly better than Puncheon who just runs around in circles a lot flattering to decieve. The difference between Antonio at the begining of his loan spell and the end were there for all to see, under AP he came on in leaps and bounds a little rough at times but always a threat. 500k more than worth it IMO.
  8. It's not really a supprise, down in league one we're big fish (which I rather enjoy). The main thing I suppose is can we turn out finicial muscle (at least at this level) in to succsess on the pitch. A lack of debt and big crowds (for league one) give us a powerful advantage but at the same time money doesn't gurantee anything.
  9. Glad he has found a club. I really thought he was going to be big for us shame it didn't work out.
  10. Part of the problem is finding players who are prepared to spend lots of the season on the bench knowing there only going to get used if Lambert gets injured or for cup games. Really good players of the sort everyone wants us to bring in, are good enough to be first team choices at other clubs and would probably prefer that to playing second fiddle to Lambert. we've got three good strikers for this level if the worst comes to the worst Butterfield does a good line in emergency sriker. At some point we are just going to have to accept that if all our best players get injured it's just not meant to be our year. We did ok last year without fielding a proper right back for large parts of the season.
  11. I see even skate boy Claridge thinks we're going to win league one on the BBC. Being favorites doesn't sit well with me we're saints it's our job to be plucky underdogs/ league wipping boys/or big scalp for smaller clubs, being excpected to win just doesn't seem right somehow. Hopefully winning will become the norm and I can get used to it.
  12. I don't think he is coming back that was pretty certain from the end of last season. Papa had some good games when he was playing well he was good to watch and gave the team an extra threat at other times he looked bloody awful. My main point was more general that people want a striker who scores goals at the right time (Papa had a knack for it) I like to see spectacular goals but if the choice is between a player scoring 15 tap ins in crucial games or five amazing goals when it doesn't matter I know which one I want in the team.
  13. Maybe he's got some pictures of NC and AP doing something they shouldn't
  14. I didn't know we had when was that? I assume it was before the new owners? I reckon his dad must have some really good contacts.
  15. I wonder if they need a really good (s******) CM player to go with him I think we have one we can spare. what the filter edits the word snig ger?
  16. Does that matter? Surely scoring goals at important times (like in injury time against Norwich) is more important than good goals. If we had a striker who scored thirty goals in a season all rebounded of his arse do you think people would care they weren't great goals?
  17. looks like they've signed him up. Ironic that he may get to play more time at SMS in a plymouth shirt than a saints one http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/plymouth_argyle/8881819.stm
  18. Isn't that the postion your in anyway? We as fans have little or no control on what goes on at SFC we can either accept what goes on or walk away. I'm not ready to walk away I love matchdays to much so I'll just have to accept what the club decide to do with or without explaination.
  19. In fairness a lot of people hate their bosses not just people who work at SMS.
  20. Off topic but I saw in the paper today that the manager of North Korea is now working as a builder as punishment for not winning the world cup. I suppose if things don't go well this season AP won't be sacked but demoted to toilet cleaner at SMS as punishment for his faliure if NC really is Kim Jong-il in disguse:?
  21. Thats the same for most teams though, didn't our new RB have to play as an emegency striker for palace last season? There's only so far you can plan for injuries sometimes you have to hope players are good enough to play out of postion and still perform.
  22. We shouldn't have let Mclaggon go just the sort of pacy winger we needed. I'm pretty sure Antonio isn't coming back.
  23. interesting comment from a reading fan on 606 about the match reading fan in peace just to say that your squad is one of the, if not the best in League One You gave us a shock in the first 60ish minutes See you in the prem in 2012 Makes me feel better about the result
  24. How do you known it's down to AP and not NC? For what it's worth I reckon we spent most of this years transfer budget last january in a bid for promotion leaving little in the kitty this summer.
  25. Harding Vs Antonio will be an interesting matchup? Reading should win this they showed their true form at the end of last season, there a good side. I'd like us to play our best side though no trailists or second string lets get the first team out only a week from start of season.
