  1. Loads of people on here will agree with you, I'm not one of them. I was two when we won the FA cup the JPT was our first trophy in my living memory that Saints have won. Last year was great a proper cup run why wouldn't we want to do that again? We're supposed to be a top team at this level why shouldn't we be capable of winning the league and the JPT? big clubs like Chelesa and Man U do it all the time at their level. In the JPT we are a top club so why not try and win it again?
  2. this ^^ The main difference today was the goals went in. We've dominated every match this season (except Bournemouth who gave as good as they got) but failed to put chances away to day we did and we looked world beaters (well league beaters at least).
  3. Good result well done lads. I now look forward to a week of happy clapping followed the week after with some more wrist slitting when we only manage a draw. Brizzile Rovers must be growing to hate us. Shame really I like Rovers as a team.
  4. I knew you'd be upset I suppose that buys AP a couple more weeks bummer.
  5. Rovers have signed a new striker bound to bloody score on his debut:rolleyes: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bristol_rovers/8951109.stm
  6. lol
  7. Well said. I'm constantly amazed at the billy big ******** attitude of some saints fans.
  8. ying and yang alpine you panic for the both of us and I'll happy clappy some extra thus retaining universal harmony:)
  9. Blimey thats like wanting your cake and eating it. You want us to win and play like Barca while doing it? While we have spent a lot of money at this level it's really peanuts in footballing terms probably wouldn't buy us Peter Crouch's left testicle in todays market. I love our team but they're still really legaue one players can't expect to much from them. I suppose the question is if people have to choose do they want good football and lose or bad football and the win. Both would be great but at this level probably unlikely. Did you see how happy the plymouth fans were when they won it couldn't have been becuase of their teams great football.
  10. As Plymouth proved at St Mary's winning and being able to play good football aren't mutal exclusive;)
  11. stop what? passing to Lambert.
  12. Yep I'm sure the club are worried about giving you another excuse. I wonder what you'll do if they do? I keep reading blustering threads like this on here at the moment the truth is apart from packing up and going off to support Man U there is sod all you can do about it. Honestly all "these "there can be no more excuses" posts are pretty funny really. Now if you where the chairman a statement like that might hold some importance. As for the hoofball we do it sometimes but in no way as much as you make out. In fact one of our best goals last season came at MK Dons from a hoofball. Davis to Lambert goal spectacular it was too. Sometimes route one can be just as effective as 18 pretty passes to goal.
  13. The Gas fans are pretty pessimistic about this one on their forums and are expecting a tonking, so will probably hammer us:rolleyes: to be honest as long as we play the way we have in the games this season the goals will come and someone will get tonked might as well be Brizzile rovers.
  14. Yet we still could have finished second with one more win last season and no -10. The way the team are playing I really can't see us going 10 games without winning. If we do I'll be more upset I'm sure.
  15. Well we'd have trouble doing that this season with two league matches under our belt.
  16. Totally off topic but I thought we played better against Orient than we did against Plymouth.
  17. I really think it's becuase Reading wanted Antonio his loan was away to get him some experince as he'd just come from non-league. Papa and Gulys clubs didn't/don't want them but we were/are not sure enough about the players just to buy them straight up hence an option to buy if they turn out to be what we want.
  18. There's a chance your expectations are to high. I'm not suprised we've been told that this year would be the year by the club, press, our own fans and the bookies. In fact we've been told it so much many people thought that the team only had to stroll on to the pitch and we would win. I've watched through the summer as people on this board proclaimed us champions before a ball was kicked. I watched on the 606 boards as saints fans full of themselves taunted league one rivals with our superior team and wads of cash. Now the truth that prehaps it might be a long hard season is starting to kick in and people don't like it. There is no reason we can't win the league or get promoted but it want be as easy as many thought the season is a long one and there will be highs and lows not just highs.
  19. Heres the full(ish) interview with AP on the BBC Antonio is not coming back time to move on http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8947860.stm
  20. Prehaps Reading want to keep him, prehaps they never intended to let him go. They sent him out on loan to give him experince of league football we gave him that he's devoloping into a good player, good enough for Reading to want him.
  21. No excuses, it's not good enough, blah, blah, blah so what are you going to do about it? if you were the chairman or the manager it would be worth you talking like that but your a supporter so unless you plan to stop supporting saints you might as well just live with it. You (and your not alone) can rant and rave all you like but the only thing you can do is put up with it or walk away. I suppose if enough of you disgruntled had enough fans boycott saints matches and write to NC you can get AP out and replace him with someone who knows what he's doing like.............derry.
  22. Norwich won three League matches in August and September out of 10 games 9 of those with a new manager . They picked up 13 out of 30pts in the first 10 games and were 13pts behind league leaders Leeds at the time yet they still went on to win the league. The league is a marthon not a sprint after two games it's hardly time to get upset.
  23. Oh we're counting cup games this season. Only last season people kept telling me cup games don't count in the league so we can't use them as evidence the team are playing well/bad. I must really try harder to keep up with rules changes on this forum.
  24. Our solution is to fire balls aimlessly into the box which is a piece of p*ss for the invariably massive CB to head away. Why when we are so good at playing football on the deck to we feel the need to launch it at every opportunity? IMO that comes from Pardew. To quote AP after the Bolton match "I took Rickie off on purpose becuase I didn't want us hitting angled ball and high balls in to the box like we did on saturday and trying to force a goal. We wanted to play through them which we did a couple of times." It appears Ap agrees with you two.........................
  25. Hardly constantly resorting. It is a fact Norwich were in a worse place in the table than us after two matches last season they went on to the win the league quite easily. I could understand all this out pouring of frustration 10-12 games in but two games in is just over the top IMO.
