yeah seeing who our next manager is (if it ever gets sorted) will make a difference to my thoughts no doubt. Just hope they don't decide to let Wilikins have it.

So you wake up at 7.00AM on the 7th August first day of new season. How did you rate our chances? champions, top two or play offs? I think it would be fair to say I was confident top two in the league, a nice run in the FA cup and winning the JPT second year in a row. No problem! So now you wake up 7.00 AM tomorrow how are you rating our chances now? Right now I'm thinking play offs might be pushing it. I know there is still a long season ahead but right now we seem to be doing a good job of blowing the season. Are the rest of you still feeling confident (assuming you were) or are like me having a re-think about what this season holds for saints.

All fair enough if you assume that people are only upset with NC about the latest manager stuff. Opinion has been turnning for a while based on other things to like press bans and the way season tickets where handled. Just like a prime minister the longer NC is in charge the more things he will do that upset people. I have no strong feelings on the man really. I've been upset by the sacking of AP but couldn't care less about todays stuff or parking metres at SMS.

Funny it was the exact opposite for me last season was the first one since WGS was in charge were I went to games expecting us to win games rather than hoping but expecting the worse, I could see us only going one way with Pardew and that was up.

this ^^^ It's often intresting to take a look at other clubs Forums and they're all like this one. Some fans will defend the manager to the death even after a 15 game losing streak others decide they don't like the manager 15mins in to the first match and will never change their mind no matter how well he does. I doubt there has ever been a manager appointed that pleased an entire fanbase.

Does it matter? managers can be brillant at one club and complete rubbish at the, next hell they can go from hero to zero in one season. Just becuase a manager has done well else were doesn't mean he will at saints (given our track record Fergunson could probably come to saints and be ****) or the other way around. Probably the two best managers in English football are Wenger and Fergunson the one thing they have in common (other than not being English) is they both been at one club for a long time. I hope that one day saints might be like that again.

I don't see why the club would protect APs reputation at the expense of their own (and risk driving fans away), all the press statement needed to say was that he was sacked for gross misconduct they don't have to give details so there's no need to protect the "victim" of APs evil. I don't know why people can't except that AP and NC didn't get on and AP paid the price with a restructing excercise. People keep saying NC wouldn't sack AP without someone else lined up but it wouldn't be NCs first questionable desicion since he became chairman.

More to the point how long will he get NCs support for? and how long will the St Mary's faithful give him. I hope he gets some wins under his belt early becuase ST Mary's isn't as a forgiving place this season as it was last season.

Maybe someone said they saw Fonte and Hammond square up at the swindon game after one of the goals went in.

you first. Give me something positive please. I'd love some positive right now but I'm struggling to find any at the moment as far the club is concerned. The appointment of a new manager might help or a win. The way I feel right now compared to the way I felt after the Brizzile game couldn't be further apart.

Does this mean Fonte didn't get AP sacked then as all the rumours were stating? is the start of a mass player exodus? I imagine Fonte will have no trouble getting a new club. It always seemed strange he wanted to drop down a level in the first place.

Its based purely on last seasons RESULTS are you telling me saggy chops had a bad season last year? Last season AP was the ninth best performing manager in all four leagues thats a fact. ITdoesn't mean he would have been this year or that saggy chops was 7th best when he came here.

Maybe everyone is giving NC more credit than derserves? its interesting so many supporters are ready to believe that the chairman will lie to us though.

Thing is football is a results game asking fans (saints fans in particular who have put up with a lot in the last few years) to hang on for a few years while we get things sorted isn't going to go down to well. weren't we promised prem in five years?

I've decided I quite Like Brown now. His wiki entry is quite funny.I like the idea of a manager who will spend half his time down the FA on disrepute charges. We will have to pay him quite well becuase of all the fines he'll end up paying. I also quite like the idea of holding the half time team talk on the pitch more entertaining than watching kids take penalty kicks. Plus if he gets us promoted he might give us a sing song using a loud speaker like he did at hull.

winning? I imagine Wilkins will put the same team as before due to a lack of options with Barnard and Lallana out. Maybe try AOC and Dickson on the wings and use puncheon as an impact sub instead?

My postion is I'll trust the O/S until I see evidence that it's lying to me. Based on the clubs own comments I feel they've made a mistake. If someone shows me some evidence that the club statement RE AP is bull**** fine. All I've seen so far is rumours used to justify peoples own opinions of AP. Seeing as you don't trust the O/S the press or your fellow fans I would suggest you're quite far from open minded on the subject.

and then all but relegated again. Still might bring a bit of comdey to SMS with his constant ill discipline nothing like some touch line spats to get SMS going.
