Rumours of Saints player being arrested after trouble?
doddisalegend replied to Tractor_Saint's topic in The Saints
Yeah right the press would let that go if there was any truth in it. Surely if this happened last night at least one witness would have contacted the Echo, south today etc by now. They'd run the story pretty sharpish I'd have thought -
ohh not nice. Good Luck

They did last year. like I said posters swore blind they'd seen Lambert carted off in a police van, kicking some guy on the ground etc etc it wasn't true. As soon as the press run with it I believe it. -
I assume you're avalaible on a free? we could do with that sort of firepower up front:D

Rumours of Saints player being arrested after trouble?

Didn't we have this last year? when a dozen people claimed to have seen Rickie Lambert get arrested after a fight in town. Turned out to be a complete fabrication. -
Rupert Lowe did Good Things while he was at the club - discuss

Not cashing in on Matty. -
I think they're both good managers. I felt getting rid of Pardew was a mistake I felt he'd achieved enough last season to have crack at getting us promoted. Having said that Nigel is growing on me and his appointment will be a good one for saints I think. They both approach the game in different ways Pardews way resulted in some great performances and a hell of a lot of goals but could result in some poor performances to. Watching us play yesterday I've got a feeling Nigels game is more about control/defence once he gets into his stride I feel we will have less off days than during Alans tenure but probably less big wins/performaces. Prehaps now those who were quick to brand AP all sorts of scum based on rumours of the internet might like to reconsider. He gave us a good season something we needed after relegation/admin won us a trophy and (I feel) gave us back some desire to be saints fans after some hard times and a great day at wembley. So while Nigel has my full support as saints manager Alan has my respect and thanks for giving me back a passion for supporting saints last season.

still think we need to do better at corners we never seem to convert corners into anything useful.

I've always thought the place was fine the summers are the worst becuase there no football to dicuss. Some people get on my tits and I know I annoy some people. I never reported anyone though, I don't think I would it's an internet forum so I just raise above it. Who ever become mods though deserve a big thank you. I wouldn't want the job personally.

I think alot of us on this the forum have learnt a few lessons about jumping in with both feet regarding internet rumours after the last few weeks. If it turns turns out to be true I'm sure a thread running to several pages will ensue.

Is this like the lambert one last year? No offence I'm sure a thread will be started as soon as (if) the story breaks in the press but not from this one post with no back up evidence.

I find you generally quite a good poster even though we don't agree about a lot of things. I have noticed though that when you post late on a friday night you tend to become rather aggressive and prone to mentioning c ocks and A rses a lot. I've been on the end of a few of those posts and they always seem out of place with your usual resonable (but totally wrong;) ) posts. Doesn't bother me I'm a big boy but I can imagine others with thinner skin might take more offence.

I didn't see anything wrong with the players (Lambert aside) fitness at Plymouth or Orient they didn't seem to struggle against Bournemouth, Bolton or Bristol either. The problems came when Wilkins took over the player confidence took a knock. Now they have a proper manger again instead of an out of depth coach thier performances are improving again. Interesting piece in the Pink today where Lallana says his knee problem was caused becuase he over trainned himself before pre-season becuase he wanted to stay fit between seasons. Nothing to do with the club it was self inflicted.

if No one has offered any proof lots of people have said on here we mustn't judge NC on rumours so the same should apply to Pardew. Look Alans gone Nigel seems to be turnning it around which is good I think nigel will do a good job. I just don't see why fans can't just say thank you to a manager who gave us a really good season last year. Instead some seem determined to re-write history and make Pardew out to be the anti-christ and that really ****es me off.
-
thats not like him............ yeah Barnard and Lamberts chances where there but both should have done better if I'm honest. It just seems two players who were free scoring last season aren't this year.Lallana chipped in with twenty last season too so hopefully Adam coming back into the team might bring more goals from the midfield.
-
In truth though without the penalties neither did we. We looked very dominating but lack of goals from open play is a concern for me. Barney works his nuts off but isn't putting to many in the net and Lambert doesn't seem to have the confidence to shoot he keeps taking one more touch instead of just smashing the ball at goal. Our defence has firmed up though never looked like conceding today the midfield looked a lot better too outplayed Bompey's midfield all afternoon.
-
In fairness I thought we looked poorer for losing Lallana, I like young chamberlin but I don't think he got to touch the ball for about ten miniutes after he came on, he didn't provide the threat Lallana did. I'm guessing though that Nigel was protecting Adams knee as we where winning. The other subs didn't have much chance a booking for Chaplow wasn't great although guly looked a bit threatning with couple of half chances.

I agree with most of that prof. I actually like Nigel he speaks sense, seems to know whats about I think he will turn us round (given time) but I also think this season is going to be a bust. My main problem is/was the way some fans have taken to ripping Pardew apart (mostly to support NC it seems) instead of just thanking him for the good stuff he did they want to re-write history I bet they where all there cheering at wembley or enjoying battering huddersfield. I shouldn't be surprised last home game I was surronded by people giving Lambert all sorts of abuse he doesn't score for a few games and is now being branded an awful player by some fans that sort of attitude just frustrates me. Your right it is time to move on hopeful with a win against that top 2 side Bournemouth (never thought I'd say that).

wow this thread is great example of irony

Bournemouth chairman "not welcome" directors box (sigh)

I'd call venting on an internet forum a minor reaction, a totally out of proportion reaction to NC would be fire bombing SMS or something similair. Making your feeling known on an internet forum seems the right reaction to being annoyed by the chairman or club, beats building a nail bomb anyway. -
To quote (kind of) , Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel History is, indeed, little more than the register of the 'crimes, follies, and misfortunes' of football clubs. But what experience and history teach is this - that chairmen and football clubs have never learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it.

no it wasn't nick and if you had read a bit further you would have found my second post Yeah I get most of that but IF NC buys the club he's going to have to borrow to do so (unless he has a big hidden fortune) will he then put the debt into the club? living within our means is fine (I think it's a good idea I'd rather not see the club threatened with admin again) the five year plan will be a lot harder to achieve (not impossible) with out the extra cash from Markus that was implied we would get as we climbed the divisions. I'm probably putting too much thought into a throw away line in one post HTBH -

Actually West brom might not be too bad at all. One year of pain followed by a good year over and over. The club doesn't over spend in the PL so stays finicial viable with enough spending money to dominate the championship every other year and those who like being shafted by the likes of chelesa are catered for too every other season.
