or could not, no one knows he could hit form and fly for the rest of season he might just stay as he is or even get worse. Hopefully the club management aren't basing our season on the hope that Lambert just clicks (like some on here) and have a contigency plan in place.
-
only 6 goals surely. Even if he's scored 7 thats one every three games if he keeps that rate up for the rest of the season he should get around another 8 (possibly 9) so yes in less his form improves I could see him scoring less than 20 this season. When was the last game he scored in?
-
Was Bignall a replacement for Lambert? didn't look like a big front man to me looked more of a pacey player like Guly though hard to tell as I only saw him play about 15mins while he was here. Also as you say he wasn't here long considering the state of our strike force at the moment prehaps someone else before the window shut would have been helpful.
-
Watching Oxo trying to win headers from hoofed balls as the front man last saturday was painful but thats what we could be reduced too without Lambert at the moment. The question is why people on here were pointing out last summer that some sort of back up for Lambert might be needed we've come through both a transfer and loan window the club still haven't brought in any back up for him. I can understand that they hoped things would improve but they say they new he had injury problems so why no back up even if it was just a loan?
-
That could happen in any game though. I don't get the one or the other attitude clubs should be able to do both I'll take the FA cup and promotion please.

LOL. yet last season with minus 10 and just out of admin you were complaining about being below Swindon and I was happy with the way the season was going. This season I'm mightly p issed that we are eighth and below the likes of bompey and Oldham and you're more than happy. funny how things change.
-
I was being sarcastic (should of put a smilie). Apparently I was told on another thread that some (one in partuicular) of our players can't play league one but would be great in the prem I just wondered if Lambert has now joined this elite group.
-
Maybe Lambert is like Morgan too good for this league if he was playing PL he'd be better, it's not Lambert at fault it's the poor players around him.....................................

Is our squad strong enough to last till January?

Good for you. Doesn't change the fact that are three main strikers are all carrying injuries/not performing/possibly facing jail though does it? We should have got another striker in on loan when we had the chance the club dropped the ball on this one. Prehaps if Doble had got a bit of first team experince in the cups I'd be happier but he hasn't. So if were playing oxo and Lallana up front who are our wingers Dickson and? -

or prehaps not -
exactly to often he is not were a striker should be to score goals.

This ^^^ what do some of our fans want for FFS we are are not premiere League, have not been for some time and will not be for some time why is it any cup tie that aint pompey or Man U is boring? The billy big ******** attitude of some of our fanbase is cringeworth. I'm going to this one will be nice to see Bret play at SMS again.

I imagine he'd be more of a replacement for Adam than having them in the same team. No way can I see us hanging on to Adam after this season he's to good for us and he must know it after games like yesterday.

If we'd taken our chances so far we would walk this league

Maybe not their teams. Ours on the other hand doesn't seem like the same team it was last season at all, couldn't see us beating Norwich this season. -
Yeah I think it was just club PR to make the fans feel good.
-
Quite. Dovers striker who scored twice yesterday is apparently an Arsenal reject bet no one would expect anything from him if we signed him up though. Surely it was only the clubs PR machine that said this though did Arsenal every admit to wanting to sign Morgan?

well I did say one of the reasons. Pardew built the team around Lambert people might have complained about what they saw as a hoof it to Lambert style but in the main it was effective. Rickies being asked to play a different game under Nigel one he is not so suited to with his lack of pace how's he going to score when he's playing so deep or out wide? -

Lambert moves all over the pitch too. This season one of the reasons he's not scoring is because he is usually out on a flank or somewhere behind six of his teammates rather than up in the box looking to score where he should be. -

I see Holt is still putting his chances away though unlike Lambert. To quote mr Delldays to me last season "Ifs and buts mean f uck all" (or words to that effect) good teams would have put those chances away we didn't hence we are eigth and Bompey are 3rd FFS -
Didn't we try that against Carlisle didn't work very well.
-
Interesting watching Grant Holt on the telly at the moment looks very comfortable at championship level. Could Lambert step up a level? last season I thought so this season I'm not to sure.
-
I saw them on the telly this morning all of 30 seconds. should be here somewhere http://www.itv.com/sport/football/facup/
-
yep. Its amazing how Lambert has gone from hero to zero at SMS is less than a season
