Saints v Spurs NYD - Build Up & Match Thread

That was pretty ****ing good from Ings there.. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk -
That's a big claim

in all competitions this season Moussa Djenepo 675 minutes 2 goals 1 assist Nathan Redmond 1638 minutes 3 goals 1 assist Sofiane Boufal 719 minutes 0 goals 2 assist Ralph likes his quick counter attacks and Redmond and Djenepo seem better suited to the quick counter than Boufal. Palace should have been Boufal's time to shine a team, defending deep, in numbers, requiring something special to break them down and he barely troubled them. Djenepo comes on (against an admittedly tired defence) and cuts them open several times with pace and trickery and probably should have had at least a goal or an assist out of the performance.

It's not like we didn't have marginal offsides before VAR. At least now they are more accurately assessd, than they were, when we were relying on a middle age bloke, with a flag,15 feet behind the play to make the decision. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

I prefer it nothing worse than your team getting done by stupid offside goals or other infringements refs and linos seem incapable of spotting. People seem to forget how it was the constant inept displays by match officials that caused VAR to be brought in.
-
I can't fault his work rate...
-
He really didn't. He slowed everything down and lost the ball numerous times he never looked like unlocking Palace at all. Djenepo looked far more likely to make something happen in his short time on the pitch than Boufal did in the previous 65. Boufal (and it's possibly the same for Djenepo) looks his best coming on late in a game when opposition defences are knackered and stretched when ever he starts games he is disappointing.
-
Do we know that? I assumed they froze the image when the ball is kicked and then zoom in on the players who could be offside and check. either way its still got to be more accurate than a bloke with a flag who is frequently failing to keep up with play or distracted by a passing pigeon. VAR is here because linesmen and Refs where missing so many calls in the first place.
-
so he was Offside you are either offside or onside if you are only a bit offside you are still offside. Offside should bee easy, especially with new technology, it should be black and white like a throw in or a corner.
-
Personally I'm happy with VAR the issue is the rules need to be watertight and black and white. Off side is easy, like throw ins, and goals are obvious and easy. Any part of your body is offside your offside simples none of this daylight bollix. I Iike the new handball rule with goals, to, becuase it removes ambiguity. I have had to watch us suffer plenty of dodgy opposition goals over the years due to crap linesmen and refs so for me VAR is making things fairer. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

he looked better when he moved to the left after 20 minutes but he was losing the ball a lot in the first half nothing is really coming off for him but hey he is the sort of play that just needs it to come off once to look spectacular. Fair play to JWP though he is playing really well again today probably MoM so far. We haven't really carved out any really good chances in the first half though few half chances but we look a bit blunt up front. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Looking a Palace's line up and formation I reckon we will struggle they are clear going for a sit deep, pack the midfield and counter attack plan which we are always really bad at playing against. Any game where we need to control the game, have more possession and have to break teams down we struggle and then get done by a quick counter. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Saints - FT - Reactions and Christmas Cheer!

Did someone kidnap the saints team and replace them with look-a-likes that can actually play football...seriously where did that performance come from? No doubt this will be followed up with a total no show in the next game. -
Sorry that's not true we are making no attempt to keep possession we are pumping the ball forward aimlessly over and over again West ham have to do nothing to get the ball back but wait 2 minutes. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Terrible game to watch. Two teams playing like Sunday league sides, a very scrappy game, with both sides pumping the ball forward, mostly aimlessly and struggling to string more than three passes in a row together. West ham look more dangerous though. Pumping endless balls into our final third is always a recipe for success against our defence. At the other end we look hopeless I think we've had one, off target shot, and that came from Cedric. We are so crap worse thing is a lot of the teams beating us don't look much better... My voice might count for a lot more if we had Proportional representation as it is it's gets lost in the bollix that is FPtP. I'll vote I always do but under the current system far to many people's vote count for nothing. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Brilliant a great time for a country to abandon being in a big trade bloc and going it alone and its all thanks to the brexiters American poster boy... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Which version of Islam? Just like Christianity there are different versions of Islam. Many Salafi do require the Burqa to be a requirement in the presence of non related men and there about 80 million Salafi Sunnis across the world. And of course it makes a difference if its a religious choice people should be allowed to follow religious tenants without their own government taking the **** out of them on the other hand if lord D where as a yellow box on his head its for no reason other to make a pretty facile point. We all know you, Lord D and the gang would be ****ing yourselves stupid if Corbyn made a comment about the Kippah.
-
What religion do you follow that requires you to wear a yellow cardboard box on your head?

I live in Eastleigh voting labour isn't really an option and would be a waste of a vote under FPtP even if I did want to vote for them which I don't. I don't want that total arse **** of a **** that is Boris in charge of this country either a more morally bankrupt, lying, coward of a public school boy would be hard to find. Best result for me is another hung parliament until one of the parties can get it's act together and produce a credible leader with policies I can get behind so I'm voting tactically for Lib Dems as the best way to stick it to the current tory ****s.. JWP is also a second highest goal scorer with 4 goals though
-
I hate an early goal becuase we always seem to go a bit **** when we score one. I'd be happy with us scoring a 1-0 winner with the last kick of the game so we can't **** it up... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Seems Ralph gets it.. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/18071864.ralph-hasenhuttl-players-lift-crowd/ RALPH Hasenhuttl insists it is up to his team to lift the home crowd after Saints responded to being booed by coming from behind to beat Watford. The Saints boss was pleased with the character shown by his players but was quick to defend those supporters who booed them. “It’s normal,” he said. “The atmosphere was exactly how we played. We need to lift them, we have to create. "You cannot demand support if you don’t show them anything. You have to show and then you get something." Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
