I think as soon as I saw the team sheet I figured Ralph wasn't to fussed. IMO if you are fighting relegation or battling for a top four finish you could mug the cups off. It's all the mid table PL sides who don't take it seriously I can't understand. It was the same for us when we where doing well in the league a few seasons back I wanted us to go all out in the cups but right now staying up is more important. I was there last night first time I've been at a game with live VAR that really ****s up your goal celebrations when it kicks in doesn't it I thought last night summed up where we are really. Ralph has us working harder and much better organised than we've been in a long time but the lack of quality in the squad still comes through. Hard work and effort will take us so far but in the end we need some quality in the squad to really make it count. We have become very reliant on Redmond to give us any sort of attacking threat while at the back we are still prone to bad mistakes both areas need looking at. As for the youngsters I thought Johnson shows promise he has real pace and a not half bad cross on him, Ramsey looks out of his depth and nowhere near ready, Gallagher wasn't great but he probably won more headers upfront in his short cameo last night than Long, Austin and Gabbi have in two seasons, proper flick ons to, just needed some strike partners to read them. In the end though if you can't hold on to a two goal lead in two cup games you don't really deserve to go through.

yeah I thought he looked very out of his depth, as he did against city, didn't really seem to offer much defensively or going forward and doesn't look comfortable with the ball at all. I have no problem with giving the youngsters ago but Kayne hasn't shown me anything over two games to get excited about by contrast I thought Johnson looked promising very quick and put in some good crosses as well.

I blame the leave vote for not winning by a landside if they had convinced 90% of the country this was a good idea this would have been a much smoother transition. I don't think he's done that much to warrant any PL interest yet. Beating Arsenal was good other results and performances have been gritty hardworking displays but hardly fantastic football. I really like him and reckon he is doing a good job but I doubt he is suddenly going to be awash with better job offers of off the back of a couple of wins and a draw against Chelsea.

He has been the stand out player this season for us even before Ralph turned up sounds like he worked his arse off defensively yesterday.
