A view from the Welsh. Brighton safe on 39, Cardiff safe on 37 saints down on 36... Predicting how many points Cardiff City, Southampton and Brighton will get in the Premier League relegation scrap https://a.msn.com/r/2/BBUcbgB?m=en-gb&referrerID=InAppShare Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Man Utd are a different animal to the one we played earlier in the season. In the end that home game was a good point for us. I'd love to see us pull off another Chelsea away performance but I think we will get beasted by Man U. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

The January Window - what will it cost us?

We've seem to have become the football club equivalent of a tyre kicker.... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk -
Austin did work hard last night but that doesn't really distract from the fact he really doesn't suit the pressing side of the game well he tries but he really never puts the opposition CBs under pressure. He also rarely wins the ball when we go long inviting pressure back on ourselves. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Cardiff seemed to bring a lot more fans though. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Don't forget man U are having an injury crisis meaning they have to use their awful back up players like Lukaku and Sanchez... [emoji52] Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Decent performance coupled with a bit of luck ( I would have bet my house on Mitrović scoring that chance early in the second half can't believe he didn't even get it on target) but bloody hell Fulham where bad. Worst team I've seen come to SMS in a long time. The team out last night is pretty much the team we should put out for the rest of the season. Only thing I'd change is Ings for Austin if he is fit. You could possibly argue for Armstrong over JWP to make us better on the counter and the goal keepers are pretty much interchangeable IMO as there isn't much between them. Stand out players where JWP, Bertrand ( after a slow start he grew into the game) and Yoshida, for me, but everyone played pretty well. The atmosphere was good last night. I thought the ref was poor though. Expecting to come back down with a bump at the weekend but will enjoy the win today. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

There was lots of pressing last night slightly let down be Austin who really isn't suited to it, ambling towards the opposition like a geriatric poodle. and there is a style based a lot around the wingbacks and moving the ball forwards quickly on the counter we still look average because err our players are mostly average...

Itchen North looked quite empty at kick off but filled up with stragglers in the first 10 minutes. Thought SMS looked pretty full especially as Fulham didn't seem to bring many.

Let's be fair we would need 3 CBs if we where playing St Swithin's 6th form girls B team and even then we would concede.... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

It's hardly a surprise given how woeful we are in defence and our complete lack of useful attacking players. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

My point was I don't think it was a deliberate change away from the press just that the press works better against some teams than it does others. Cardiff and Burnley being two teams it's not great against. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Exactly large parts of the game they didn't have a player in our half of the pitch and our CBs where camped out around the half way line. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

I did watch the game I was there. I have to question what you where watching if you believe half of what you have written there though. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Where have I said that. She is a British citizen who joined a terror organisation who should be responsible for punishing her if not us? Why are you so adverse to us locking her up? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk -
Like hell they did. They where happy to sit deep and rarely looked to get out of their own half. They came for a draw and looked to nick a goal with a quick break or set piece. No way can you compare Cardiff's style of play with the likes of Everton or Leicester. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Same for Burnley we where within a whisker of all 3pts and screwed it up with poor defending. Been the story of the last few seasons really poor defensive mistakes screwing us out if points. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

I can't comment on the Arsenal game as I didn't see it. But it's hard to high press a team with 10 behind the ball looking to go long at every opportunity. Against the likes of Cardiff and Burnley who pack their own half it's hard to press them into mistakes and then capitalise on those mistakes with quick balls forward as they are sat so deep. Teams like that sit deep and wait for you to break them down while looking to sucker punch you. We lack any guile or skill in the current squad to break down teams like that. We had better luck against the likes of Leicester and Everton because they felt they where good enough to play out from the back and take they game to us. That's when the high press works best. Who knows. We are rubbish but then things are never that clear cut I never thought we'd beat Arsenal or hold Chelsea but we did. It's not over until it's mathematically over either way up or down its going to be a close run thing. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

She is a British criminal we should be bringing her back and locking her up to rot in a jail cell. It's not about doing her any favours it's about Britian taking responsibility for its problems. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk -
I can't believe anyone thinks the squad is any good. We can keep changing managers but it won't make much difference until we overhaul this squad full of dross.
-
Ralph is averaging 1.25 pts per game ( bearing in mind Hughes managed 0.96, mope 1.09 and Puel 1.38 points per game) over a whole season that would be what 47-48 points? Not great but given the state of the squad would have been fine over a season. Sadly Ralph didn't get a season a so... If he can keep that going we will get another 13-14 points to finish on 37 -38 should be enough to stay up. What ever I doubt we can get anyone better as manager right now and certainly no one who is going to any better with the squad in its current state. We need to get through this keep Ralph whatever and give him a decent squad to work with rather than the current shower of ****e....no sure that will happen though. This headline says it all Michael Obafemi's injury a 'disaster' for Southampton, says Ralph Hasenhuttl https://www-skysports-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11700/11647306/michael-obafemis-injury-a-disaster-for-southampton-says-ralph-hasenhuttl?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.skysports.com%2Ffootball%2Fnews%2F11700%2F11647306%2Fmichael-obafemis-injury-a-disaster-for-southampton-says-ralph-hasenhuttl How did we let ourselves get in a position when we were pinning our hopes on a barely tested youngster in a relegation fight? I had no problem letting players go in Jan because I thought we'd bring in some decent replacements for them but this Jan was beyond madness. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk -
Rather we just kept Ralph and replaced the players we are on manager no 4 since Koeman left and a many of the current players have been pretty ****e under all four managers.... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
