Got to be, I knew Vest was out, but for Yoshida to not even make the bench he must be injured surely? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Ha good work fella. Was just having a look at their message board which like their ground is a bit league 1 and they found your post and have had a bit of a melt down about it......[emoji38] Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Won't happen but I'd think Nathan Ake would be a good signing for our CB woes (watch him be terrible at SMS today) and I wouldn't mind Aleksandar Mitrović to give us a presence upfront that could actually win an aerial duel and hold the ball up.

God it must be **** being a hudders fan right now like being kicked in the nuts every weekend.

I got an email from the club offering me, due to high demand ( ??), 4 extra tickets as a ST holder which I took as a sign they where having trouble shifting them for this game... Just another sign how little thought saints fans give to Bournemouth as a rivalry. Though no doubt, as always, their fans will be at SMS frothing like loons doing their best impression of Pompey fans. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

It's not really a new thing it's been going on since the second half of the Puel season. I would venture that going from defence containing peak Fonte and the likes of VVD or Toby A, Bertrand (at his best) and Clyne protected in front by Victor and/or Morgan a few years back. To the likes of Hoedt, Stephens, Vest and Yoshida ( who I'm a big fan of but he was the back up and now he is the first choice) plus a less enthusiastic Bertrand and young right back protected by the players like Hoj, Lemina and JWP in midfield is just not as good. Upfront we've never really replaced Lambert/ Pelle either so we are terrible at holding the ball up top to give us breathing space. The usual panicky long punts out of defence that often characterise our late game attempts at holding a lead just come straight back at us most of the time putting us under constant pressure. I'd also point out our passing is pretty poor we give the ball away needlessly a lot. I know possession football is hated by most fans but late in a game defending a lead it would be good if we had midfielders capable of just playing keep ball to take the sting out of the game and relieve pressure on the back line. I thought that was only allowed if you where related, to said local, by blood in Pompey... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

There is very little between the sides outside the big six. It all comes down to a bit of confidence and stringing a few results together. Burnley where best of the rest last season yet this season with the same manager and same players the spent most of the season looking at relegation. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Doubt it. The defence still looked pretty dodgy, even after months of work by Ralph, last night. Having the extra CB covering the other two is the only way to make our current CBs reasonably solid. We might go two at the back next season if we improve our CB options but with the current ones 3 at the back is the best option hopefully we will have Vest back in for Stephens and Valery starting. Ings would have been a fine replacement for Long. Ings presses and puts defences under pressure something we lost with the introduction of Valery

At this point of the season all that really matters is picking up points and the way this season has gone a point away to Watford is a decent point but......why can't we hold on to a ****ing lead!!! Have to say I think the Subs killed us tonight instead of giving us renewed momentum they seem to take it from us Sims wasn't an improvement on Armstrong tonight, Romeu was having a great game and Lemina isn't the same sort of player (if he replaces anyone it should be Hoj) and Valery for Long really hurt us (Long had rolled back the years tonight and given a vintage Shane display) the obvious replacement was Ings to keep the pressure up on the Watford back line rather than a defender.

With Ings on the bench FFS Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Subs seem to have taken the momentum out of us towards the end of the game. Not sure any of them have been an improvement over the players they replaced. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Hopefully we will win with a goal scored from a blatant handball that everyone but the ref and linesman sees.... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Burnley 18% possession 2 shots on target..... scored 2 goals

Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted that Saints’ first half performance at Newcastle was the worst 45 minutes of his time in charge and insisted the team are “still in trouble.” so Ralph is a wet pussy to...

You can't not turn up for the first 55 minutes of a game and expect to get anything out of it far to many players where off the pace today hopeful it was a one off and we can get something from the last three games I'd like to finish as high up the table as possible.

****ing hell Gunn if we get a point out of this game you deserve a pint. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Keeping JWP as a right back with a yellow card is a bit Meh though there aren't to many options .. other than keeping Stephens on and taking JWP off I guess. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Lemina is back from the dead... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Need to get control of midfield go four at the back with Stephens at rightback and either move JWP into the middle or bring on Lemina at half time Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
