Ings sadly is in the list of players that could do a good job if they could ever stay fit long enough to get match fitness and form...Sturridge, Carroll, Wellbeck, Wilshire players who never reach their potential because of constant injuries.

bollix 3/5 at the back has been our best formation under Ralph and we've scored plenty of goals playing like that to. It's a formation that works well with the players we have and gets results. Given the lack of investment likely this summer with most likely only a couple of new faces in I expect we will play with 3/5 at the back again next season.

Finishing higher up the league is the bigger picture what is at stake was possibly another league place, or two higher, which could have been worth another 3-6 million quid to the club (pretty important given our seeming lack of funds). I really doubt Ralph didn't know the likes of Forster and Moi aren't up to it and if he didn't how does yesterdays match help him? He wasn't playing them normally which suggests he didn't rate them and very much doubt he rates them anymore today. If it was, as suggested by posters on here, an attempt to put unwanted players in the "shop window" then after yesterday performances they are even less likely to be on anyone's summer shopping list. There really was no upside to playing a weakened team against West Ham yesterday.

Surely the reward would be continuing to earn a nice big PL wage and not take a relegation clause pay cut. Plus it was partial their fault that they needed to give everything to stay up maybe if they had performed all season the wouldn't have had to.

Since Ralph has taken over we've had less possession and made less passes than the opposition in practically every game. I think Ralph twigged that we don't have many players who can pass effectively and built our game around avoiding hanging on to the ball to much in our own half.

interesting reading this as Solent tatters claim Moi has been our best attacking player today...

Being saying that for a long while. That's why a lot of our game under Ralph revolves around working hard without the ball and getting the ball forward quickly when we do have it. and why we struggle to manage games from winning positions late on because we can't just put our foot on the ball and control possession. No wonder MoPes possession at all costs game failed so badly.
