I've always liked him. His biggest issues seem to be he is a short arse who gets dominated by big CFs and while he gets forward well his final ball, into the box, is frequently awful. I think his little loan last season was a bit of a wake up call for him that he wasn't as good as he thought he was but he seems to have come back knuckled down and put in some decent performances the last few games. It probably is our best back 4 it's just not the great in the PL. Vest has turned out to be a massive disappointment (I was hoping he was going to be a beast in the air when we signed him), Stephens is ****ing gash and Danso looks very green but has potential I think. Even though we kept a clean sheet I thought the defence looked pretty dodgy last night, especially at set pieces, they got away with it because Pompey are a ****e league one side. Not true he is very good a heading the ball as long as no opposition player is within 25 feet of him, putting him under any sort of pressure, and it isn't windy

Not sure I'd have stuck Obafemi in there other than pace he doesn't seem to offer much I'd much rather have Redmond or even Boufal but a strong team. Now can we have our "good half" in the first half and be comfortably 4-0 up by half time please.

I seriously doubt the invention of the wheel in the late Neolithic period killed millions of jobs off for a society that existed on substance farming. Anyway the wheel and the steam engine contributed to the industrial revolution which brought man made climate change on a massive scale, population explosion and two world wars so perhaps we aren't that better off. Before barely playing him and then loaning him out and then, while on loan, he has managed to be part of a defence to get relegated twice from the PL all at the tender age of 24. if saints had signed a player like that you'd never here the end of it on here.....

It tells you something that our highest scorer in one season , since we returned to the PL, is still Lambert with 15. Even in our best season, under Koeman, Pelle and Mane managed 11 each in a season (which isn't that impressive really). Sadly none of our attacking players since then have even looked like getting anywhere close to that sort of goal tally.

I put that down to us gifting them a two goal lead in the 1st half which meant they didn't have to commit bodies forward in the second half but just look for the counter. We have been poor at breaking down teams with lots of bodies behind the ball for a long time.
