  1. Good to see self interest coming before obvious common sense. Championship clubs ‘to sue’ PL after secret meeting Six Championship clubs reportedly held a secret meeting on Monday at which they discussed plans to sue the Premier League if they are denied promotion. Several Premier League clubs have mooted the suggestion that the season is declared null and void, but that would obviously leave Leeds United and other clubs in the Championship. According to The Times, representatives of Leeds, West Brom, Fulham, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston met on Monday ahead of a conference call involving all 24 clubs on Tuesday. https://www.football365.com/news/championship-clubs-sue-premier-league-coronavirus Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. A leaked government report yesterday said they expect this situation to carry on until next spring so next season is probably a bust to and you can hardly re-start this season in 12 months time.
  3. And breaking news all theatres across the country are closing with immediate effect following government advice. Football isn't re-starting anytime soon...time to find a new hobby for the weekends. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. The league isn't going to get finished it just needs to be voided. Next season might not even happen if this goes on into spring 2021 as some experts are suggesting. The economic impact of this is going to effect pretty much all of us so even when football does start again who knows if I will even be able to afford it anymore. So strange how this has gone from something happening on other side of the world, that I wasn't really worried about, to holy crap this **** just got real now people at work are self isolating and the economic impact on my employer has come sharply into focus. 5. I'm pretty sure the clubs in question wanted Loans rather than buys, Leicester certainly did for Vest, and I seem to recall Leeds wanted to loan Adams and then pay us, less than we paid for him, at the end of the season.
  6. I have no problem being sent home for two weeks the garden is a mess and I've got plenty of minor DIY jobs to get done. My biggest issue is will I get paid for two the weeks. No pay for two weeks (or god forbid longer) would quickly make things interesting... and not in a good way.
  7. Just pull the names out of a hat it might be a refreshing change to see England's CL representation being Burnley, Watford, West ham and Norwich
  8. That's hardly fair. For teams like ours the cup competitions are the only chance (admittedly slim) of winning something or at least having a fun cup run not to mention lower leagues teams can really benefit from a cup run. I don't think any of the league's this season are yet, at least mathematically, a forgone conclusion. So just scrap the leagues now and start again next season, a fresh, cup competitions and all. 9. Clearly cancel. Pool don't win the league, Leeds can't get promoted and neither can Pompey. On top of that next year's champions League and Europa spots are allocated randomly by a drawing of names from a hat.. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. Surely wages aren't an issue we've been told on here lots of times that our wage bill isn't any different to all the other PL clubs? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. I still think ST holders should get a refund if the games are behind closed doors. While I understand the need for these measures. In no way is a live stream anywhere near compensation for missing live games. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has announced he has coronavirus. Marinakis attended the Emirates on 27 February as Olympiacos defeated Arsenal after extra-time. The shipping magnate was also present at Forest’s 3-0 home defeat to Millwall last Friday. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/premier-league/nottingham-forest-and-olympiacos-owner-evangelos-marinakis-says-he-has-coronavirus/ar-BB10ZelA?ocid=spartandhp
  13. The problem is a lot of rules are open to interpretation it seems no two refs can agree on what a foul is/or isn't and what is/or isn't worthy of a yellow or a red card. Even in the same game you will see refs give two near identical fouls a different outcome. Under those circumstances consistency is really hard to achieve. What is really need to achieve consistency is for any ambiguity to be removed from the rules to make them clear yes/no issues but doing that would change the game in ways people wouldn't like.
  14. His job was made a lot easier by us being in the lower leagues especially league 1 where we were a big fish with a fair amount of money. No chance of saints buying two of the leagues top scorers in one season (Lambert and Barnard) while we in the PL even if we had the money we don't have the kudos as a club at this level to do that. In the end the best thing Nic nak did was buy league ones top scorer for a league record fee.
  15. So what would people like as our next owner A) Shady Russian, mates with Putin, lots of money. B) Arab sheik with lots and lots of money C) Soft drink company with money D) local lad with love for the club but not that much money E) dodgy foreigner owner with much less money than promised F) American owners buying the club through loans put on the club G) Hedge fund group flogging of the stadium to raise funds H) Fan owned consortium not a pot to **** in I) Good old fashioned British businessman with nice a side line in cheap sports wear or rubber cocks
  16. I wouldn't call having a player sent off and conceding a penalty... err lucky Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. Yeah people on here always complaining our fans are to nice... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. I've given up caring about players leaving saints **** happens. Players leaving isn't the issue players leave clubs all the time. The issue is getting in capable replacements in the same postion...Something saints have struggled with for some time. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. But the Pompey was in the cup and the final for that cup was played at the weekend its so that still stands.... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. And I assume no promotion for Leeds and West brom? If the lower leagues also get cancelled it would probably be quite funny watching Pompey have to suffer another season in league 1. Norwich would be the luckiest ****s in world football. Can't see it happening the fallout for football in England would be huge. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. I assume, given recent comments by Ralph, our home form would take a big up turn if the players could play in a empty stadium... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. ****ing hell Solent laying it on a bit thick. "Few better sights in world football than a full Fratton park" "A game between two big names in football" [emoji38] Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. One step forward two steps back with this squad. Every time you think they are starting to final improve as a team they put in another ****e performance like this. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. It's like the last couple of months haven't happened and the team has just reverted to the one that turned up for the first few months of the season. Poor in defence, ****e passing, no threat in front of goal and second to every ball. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
