We aren't any good defensively with four at the back either maybe Ralph should try something really Avant Garde and drop CBs all together. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Just a reminder of this fixture last season where Hughes thought we should attack city in a 4-4-2 it worked really well....for City [video=youtube_share;j_D84o07f58]https://youtu.be/j_D84o07f58 Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

4-4-2 at the Etihad are you Mark Hughes in disguise? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Did you see their reserve players? Their where a couple of promising youth players (who seemed several levels above our youth players) and then a load of players that would be first name on the team sheet at a lot of PL clubs. I mean reserve front line of Agüero, Marhez and Jesus is just ****ing ridiculous.

I haven't seen one person suggest that was the case.

According to Solent last time we beat Man City at their place Paul Sturrock was our manager I'm pretty confident our current team isn't going to change that fact
-
Given how immobile our midfield is, how easily we get counter attacked the moment our midfield push up (because they can't recover in time), how our constant poor passing in the middle of the pitch gives the ball away in dangerous areas and how easily a talented man city side play their way out of the press. I'm not sure pressing high up won't make it just as easy for them. It would be better if we could sit deep in numbers, defend as a cohesive unit, and carry a threat on the counter...sadly our players aren't good enough for that.
-
Had either of those two sides just come out of a confidence smashing 9-0 home defeat though? You can always find a freak result of two but Man City are ****ing machine not many teams beat them. Have you forgotten Hughes attempt at going toe-to-toe with them in a 4-4-2 last season? They put six past us without breaking a sweat. It's perfectly alright to have a plan, like the one we used last night, against a team like city imo. What last night showed, yet again, is that the players lack the quaility to see through even the simple plan of sit deep with men behind the ball and counter attack a tactic lots of sides have used successfully against us these last few seasons. Well it should have been easier for the CBs to look good or at least competent in that system.. And while we didn't have the ball much, in the first half, when we didwe gave it away far to easily. The front two couldn't hold it up to bring others into play and get us out of our half, and the midfield where to sloppy with their passing and just kept giving the ball back to city. I've seen plenty of teams play against us with 10 men behind the ball before punishing us with a clinical counter attack. . Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

To hard to call. A very small conservative majority is my guess. Labour should be doing well, given the state of the Tories, but I just don't think voters want Corbyn and his brand of 1970s socialism. Also Labours fanning around on Brexit, where they've tried to walk some middle ground and appeal to leavers and Remainers, by just being vague on where they really stand has done them no favours. Lib Dems, SNP will definitely do well out of their anti Brexit stand not well enough to changes thing under a FPtP system though. Brexit party could do well in some leave areas Nigel is pretty good at whipping up the looney element of leave. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few more greens and independents either. Disappointingly though not unexpectedly none of the fringe players, bar McCarthy, last night, did anything to really stake a place in the team. At the back Stephens and Danso look just as hopeless as Yoshida and Vest. Armstrong seemed to be anonymous which just sums up our midfield really. Long and Boufal didn't pull up any trees before coming off. Just highlighted that we have so little quaility in our squad. How did we end up with five rubbish CBs and with only four, horribly one dimensional, Central midfield options with next to no engine or pace. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

its worth remembering they smashed 6-1 up there last season, in the league, after Hughes decided to play 4-4-2 and go for it.. 1McCarthy 2Cédric Soares 5Stephens 6Hoedt 21Bertrand 16Ward-Prowse Booked at 10mins Substituted for Obafemi at 73' minutes 18Lemina 23Højbjerg 7Long 22Redmond Substituted for Elyounoussi at 73' minutes 9Ings Substituted for Armstrong at 82' minutes https://www.premierleague.com/match/38414

that's one hell of a second string though anyone of them would waltz into our matchday 11
-
very much so. Look at from the managers point of view your players have just taken the worst drubbing in PL history, their confidence is shot, and your next opponents are Man ****ing City, away....twice. You find out they've made 10 changes for the game, your relief is short lived when you see their entire second 11 is superior to any player you have at your disposal are you really going to send your players out to try an go toe to toe with them or are you going to try an avoid another huge battering? It wasn't a great performance but we scored a goal, kept the score respectable and maybe gained a little confidence in a game that, lets face it, most of would have down as a loss when the draw was made.

Err we've had like one shot all game as creative sparks go Boufal wasn't very sparky. Just compare him to Marhez that's what a creative spark looks like.. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Mad isn't it. Even one of those players would improve our team 100% Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Because all our players are ****e it doesn't matter which 11 are on the pitch, in what formation they are in, they are always ****e if I was Ralph I'd be typing up my notice letter about now rather than wasting time on subs... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

I doubt we'd score with that front three they have one league goal between them this season.. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

I miss the days when the players where really good under Hughes, Pellegrino and Puel... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Maybe he wants to go if I was the manager of this bunch of players I'd want out. Ralph came to us with his stock rising as an upcoming manager less than year with this basket case of club looks like completely destroying his stock bet his wishes he'd never come here. No chance with this squad. Can't defend because our defenders are awful, can't attack because our attacking players are crap and the midfield well I just give up with them. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

We just lost 9-0 anyone who thought we going to come to City and play open attacking football was, dare I say it, expecting to much. Teams who get stuffed inevitably try to become hard to beat first not become more open. It's even hard when you have four Central midfielders in the squad three of who are crap and one who is average. And squad with 5 CBs none of who are actually any good. I mean if we had quaility attack players we could go all out attack but errr well we don't have any good attacking players either. And there's 2... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

Only 3/4-0 would be an improvement...or did you mean 34 -0... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
