  1. Absolutely love it
  2. You're absolutely right, I have totally failed to spot this due to it's extreme subtlety. Mind you, I'm terrible for that. This reminds me of the time I failed to spot my own sweat in the ocean. Thanks for picking me up on it though!
  3. Yep, 3-1 for me too. I would love to say 3-0 but can't quite allow myself to believe we're capable of consecutive clean sheets just yet!
  4. OK... The OP has a better user name than you (I'm guessing this is a game, right?)
  5. Cheers mate!
  6. Mine is quoted pretty much directly from Stewart Lee
  7. *Yes, first the coloureds and now the gays! Soon they'll be nobody left to be prejudiced against will there? What's society coming to?! They'll be telling us we can't be sexist next, you mark my words. (*and just in case there’s anyone from the Mail on Sunday reading this, that's not what I think, I was using an exaggerated form of the rhetoric and the implied values of the OP to satirise the rhetoric and the implied values of the OP.)
  8. Opening this thread took 3 seconds of my life that I'll never get back
  9. Lambert even after he's missed one.
  10. Crikey, I didn't realise a contingent of our fans were eating glory hunters!
  11. Yup, and I agree with you on all of that 100%. Let's be clear - my suggestion that MP will be out of a job if we do not improve on 14th is my belief about the reality of the situation. It is neither what I think should happen nor something I would support at face value.
  12. I won't disrespect your opinion by describing it as "laughable". My opinion is that if we only manage 14th place this season then MP is likely to find himself out of a job. That is what I meant when I said "heads will roll". Knowing what we do of Cortese's reputation for ruthless business decisions, I would personally be surprised if 14th is going to be good enough for him. (and if you find that view "laughable", then I want some of whatever you've had, it sounds like fun).
  13. If you're right it'll mean it cost Cortese et al £20million (so far) to improve by one position. Heads will roll.
  14. We finished 14th last season, have added two players of significant quality and not lost anyone of significant quality. Added to the fact the squad has a season of prem experience under its belt. Surely we'll improve on last year?!
  15. I admire your passion for supporting England and to some extent I envy it. Watching the devotion of fans of other nations has also often had me wishing I could feel the same level of pride towards my country. I'm a Saints fan of 30 years, not a 'modern day footie fan' but I simply can't get emotional about supporting England. This is due to (1) a succession of uninspiring national managers picking the same old players and (2) the fact that the squad is almost entirely comprised of players I do not admire and cannot bring myself to support. Hodgson picking players like Raheem Stirling and Jonjo Shelvey in recent squads has only strengthened this view. Having said that I hope Lambert goes and smashes the Scots apart and will hope he can trail-blaze a path for some other unfashionable types! (I won't hold my breath)
  16. Haven't planned to watch an England friendly for years (i.e. have caught the odd 20 mins here and there but only when I've had nothing better to do). Very much planning to watch this one, I've even purchased some beer.
  17. With 4 days to go and still no sign of a striker, seeing Vydra go to WBA this morning is the one that makes me most envious
  18. Yep, he's just become mine
  19. Same tweeter says: "Southampton are also looking and bringing Mattheiu Flamini back to England #AFC #SaintsFC" Looks like an idiot to me...
  20. Would a call-up for Lambert benefit Saints in any way? Maybe there's an argument that international exposure would make him a better player but at his age I'm not convinced by that. Does it not just increase the chances of him getting injured?
  21. From the middle of Somerset. Started supporting Saints in 1985 (aged 7) when a family friend gave me a match programme signed by Peter Shilton. When it came to selecting a university I opted for Southampton so I could get to more games and ended up living there for four years until work took me away. Manage to get to 4 or 5 games a season nowadays (but am no doubt branded as plastic/prawn sandwich by many as a result)
  22. *standing ovation*
  23. The OP is clearly talking about the "Lampard role" and as such is only using the name Lampard to make it obvious the type of role in the team to which he is referring. He has made it clear he is not comparing JRod with Lampard in terms of quality. There was no reason whatsoever to shoot the OP down
  24. I really hope this is true!
