I think I need some help understanding PEH. He doesn't score goals (at least not yet) he doesn't seem to specialise in passing, breaking up play or winning the ball in the air. He doesn't create chances but he doesn't seem to be picked with defensive duties in mind either. I don't dislike him at all, he seems a good guy and willing to put in a shift - I just don't get what he's for! Anyone? He reminds me of Rory Delap...

Doubts over some of those names, but Romeo would easily fetch £20million+ in this climate. There is nobody playing better in his position in the Prem right now.

Dunno about strange, but it's certainly interesting and suggests we don't entertain "player power". Players are not used to a club holding them to the contract they signed, or sticking to it's valuation rather than negotiating etc...

Was it Jan-Paul Saeijs who scored a screamer? Seem to recall he scored both goals in a 2-2 draw(?) Can't remember who against or whether it was his first goal. But it was a beauty! (Or was is Tomasz Hajto?!)

The appointment of a manager like Allardyce was never going to address raising the national side from the pitiful depths to which it sank, culmintating with the embarrassment in France. The England setup needs complete reform, from top to bottom. Allardyce is not a change agent, he's the absolute opposite. In his first squad he picked 18(?) of the 23 that Hodgson's took to the Euros. Not only did BFS retain Rooney he came out with that ridiculous statement "I can't tell him where to play". Therefore the more of a laughing stock we become the better in my opinion. It seems Euro 16 wasn't sufficiently bad enough for the FA to trigger genuine change. Maybe this debacle will be, but somehow I doubt it.

Given the option, you'd swap VvD for Alderweireld?
