Probably an ACL injury, unfortunately. Thats the usual suspect to give way when twisting the knee by turning/changing direction. Out for the season if thats the case, hope not though!
-
I`ve watched him a lot on Norwegian telly, probably seen well over half of Rosenborgs matches this season. He is no-where near Richardsons level. The Norwegian PL this year is the poorest ever, not one of the teams would stand any chance of survival in the Championship. The fact that Lustig still hangs about here, suggests that he isnt very good. He looks allright going forward, but is a huge liability defending. Plus he is weak, skinny and not a tackler by any means ! He has got a reasonable cross on him though, but in my (well informed) opinion he would be useless for Saints.
-
Couldnt agree more. Except that promotion is worth far,far more than 60 million, depending on how long one stay in the Pl, and including the parachute-payments. Looking pragmatically on it, it would be plain foolish to sell Rickie for ANY price if we`re still in contention for promotion come January.
-
I`d imagine that has something to do with Rickie himself, in combination with plain bad luck. Some players never get "discovered", despite every fan in their league raving about them. As for Rickie, he was probably also planted in his comfort zone while with Bristol Rovers. Being ther superstar and highest paid player he perhaps never felt the need to improve. But after coming to us, he`s come to realize that he CAN be a premier league player with just that little bit of extra effort. Which makes all the difference in the world when you are as naturally gifted as Rickie is !

same here..aaargh,piece of junk !

I live in Norway, and have seen him play a lot. Here`s my view: Huseklepp would IMO be a very good partner for Lambert. He is a pacy and tricky player, with quite a lot of stamina. A bit like Lalllana, only faster (and not quite as skillfull). He used to play as a winger in his early days at Brann, and is often utilized as a right midfielder for Norway. However,he played his best football for Brann in the two seasons before his move to Bari, as a striker. Quite often he played as a lone striker too, with two very attacking CM`s behind him. I think he would offer something new to our side, and be a good signing.

Lundekvam helping another Norwegian sign for Saints.
Rod Le Shearer replied to Rod Le Shearer's topic in The Saints
The article says talks are at an early stage, but Claus is hopefull something will be sorted before not too long. Personally,I hope we give this one a pass ! -
This is the punch-line in a big article from TV2, a serious tv-channel which also happen to employ Claus for their PL football show. Basically,Claus says Saints are in dialogue, with a view to sign Erlend Hanstvedt, a left footed defender who can play both LB and CB. He was with Belgium side Gent, but is now a free agent. Claus is apparantly aiding him as a consultant, having strong ties with Saints n`all. Having seen a lot of Hanstvedt when he played for Brann in Norway, I reckon he`s a decent player..but no better than what we`ve got for those positions. What would you rather have - 3 games in hand or 5 extra points?
Rod Le Shearer replied to kpturner's topic in The Saints
Going on current form..3 games in hand,no doubt ! Win two, lose one and we`re there. On a similar note, I believe Huddersfield will drop many points in the run in, and that Posh will finish above them. Peterborough have been unlucky for a couple of games, but I still consider them to be our top contender for the 2 place. -
I think it would be a good idea to keep the title of the book related to our song. how about just re-writing the title from "oh when the Saints go marching in", to "These were the Saints marching in" ? Or "Presenting all the Saints marching in - A complete who`s who of Southampton FC".

Rickie Lambert - League One Top Scorer Again?
Rod Le Shearer replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
If he scores the most goals this year,he would be topscorer 3 years in a row. If I remember correctly,he shared the crown with Beckford in Rickies last season with Bristol. Would be an amazing achievement ! -
My thoughts excactly. Bring him back while in form. Imagine having three top quality championship-players rotating for the positions on the flanks! And Puncheon can play advanced midfield against "weaker" teams as well.
-
Maybe not right now. However,if he is recalled and performs in "Milwall-manner" the first game at SMS he`ll be a fans favorite again. It`s up to him how he copes with the pressure & expectations..
-
Unbelievable by Puncheon. We must take him back now that he has rediscovered the ability to score. thats the only thing he really lacked here !
-
Crazy decision. From my point of view,Pardew has grown in the job from day 1. And I liked the style of football we played. Its not AP`s fault our strikers couldnt find the target first two league games. FFS

Well nobody else did it so here is the match thread
Rod Le Shearer replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
oh yes. We`ve had about 20-25 crosses into the box, most of them decent..Lambo would definately have gotten on the end of some of them ! Hope we`ll see Lallana second half. -
IMO we now only need a striker and a decent CM to complete the squad. and maybe a right winger, just to push Puncheon. Great signing this one !
-
Isn`t there due an automatic fee involved in every transfer, where the club who "raised" a player gets a fat share of future transfers..? In the first transfer after the player has left, this should be about 10-15 percent..decreasing with the number of transfers. I`m pretty sure Uefa has got every country to agree to this regulation-which is independent of any further add ons and thus cannot be wavered.
-
excellent night ! Come on lads, dont let the Hudd result get you down. the way they performed against a 10 men walsall at home suggest they will struggle enourmously against every other opponent that awaits them. If we win our last 5,WHICH WE WILL,the playoffs are ours
-
I dont think everyone here are Nostradamuses, unlike your good self. no one can know we wont win them all, just as no one can know we`ll win any. However, some people think we will. and they have a perfectly valid and reasonable opinion, especially considering our remaining fiixtures.
-
I sense a Deja vu here.. the last time we needed a win in the last match,to get to the play-offs, was in the CCC..versus an allready relegated Southend. Lets hope history repeats itself ! (with the exception of the cruel play-off semi)
-
I must say that this is a very interesting statement by NC. Seems as if or new regime are willing to answer more in depth than most other chairmen, and certainly more than any other private owner. I like it !
-
WOW ! now,win our two games in hand, and were only 8 points of Huddersfield..with a superior goaldifference and a not to tough run in of games ! we can still do this
-
totally agree, but I dont know if I`m willing to give them more chances unless the other options are unavailable ! we`ve been poor in every game these two have started.
