  1. A big thanks to all of you who sent in your questions for Paul! The interview is now online and you can listen in all the following places: iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPod Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPodS YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/SFPodYouTube Web: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/ As always, please let us know your thoughts.
  2. John and Tom are back on the sofa celebrating one year of the Saints FC Podcast. In the year since we started the podcast we've had over 21,900 downloads and have been averaging over 1,100 listens per episode since the start of the season. A big thanks to all our listeners, please keep downloading, subscribing, listening and letting us know your thoughts! Thankfully Southampton managed a birthday present for us in the shape of a Premier League win against bottom side West Brom, extending the undefeated run to 6 in the league and cup and lifting Saints out of the bottom 3. We also reflect on the disappointing draw with Brighton, beating Watford in the FA Cup 4th Round and look ahead to the fixtures against Liverpool and West Brom (again). iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPod Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPodS YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/SFPodYouTube Web: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/
  3. Hi All, we've just published the latest episode of the Saints FC Podcast. The draws against Watford and Tottenham come under scrutiny, as does Pellegrino (again), his in game management, surrendering points from winning positions and the lack of activity in the transfer window. We go through a lot of listner correspondence, have a closer look at Michael Obafemi, Saints 17 year old debutant, and have a look forward to the games against Watford in the FA Cup and Bighton at home in the league. Is there anything Pellegrino can do that means he would be sacked? Will Saints slide to the relegation zone be the wake up call the players and manager need to kick-start into action? Could the FA Cup be the glimmer of hope for Saints season? As always, let us know what you think! iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPod Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/SaintsFCPodS TuneIn: http://tunein.com/radio/Saints-FC-Podcast-p959333/ Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/saints-fc-podcast Web: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/

  12. Episode 18 of the podcast is out. Tom and John discuss the disappointing loss at home against Burnley and the (ahem, yes) disappointing draw way at Brighton & Hove Albion. Unfortunately this is not a cheery podcast as we try and work out why Saints results have been so poor. Whether Southampton have desreved to be on the receiving end of the results and whether Match of the Day's new statistic XG can provide an insight into what has been happening. twitter: @saintsfcpodcast iTunes: https://t.co/tR1EbXYAgU TuneIn: http://tunein.com/radio/Saints-FC-Podcast-p959333/ Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/saints-fc-podcast Web: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. John Bailey and Tom Parker discuss the latest happenings at St Marys with a draw against Newcastle United and a win against West Brom courtesy of a Sofiane Boufal wonder goal. Virgil Van Dijk, Sofiane Boufal and Fraser Forster are all on the agenda for a variety of reasons from the sublime to the ridiculous. We discuss why it might be more likely that Romeu will be dropped than some of Saints under-performing stars and whether Pellegrino has found out what's stuttering Southampton. We also preview the trip to Brighton at the weekend and discuss some of the players and managers who have left Southampton over the past few seasons, but are finding life a little more difficult than expected. 14. Slightly different to the usual Saints FC podcast this week as we speak to Michael Cox about 25 years of tactics in the Premier League and his book The Mixer. Some of you will know Michael from the Totally Football Podcast with James Richardson of Football Italia fame. He is something of a tactical expert, writes for the Guardian and ESPN as well as for his own site ZonalMarking.net. We talk about his book and the big Saints players and managers that have had a profound effect on the Premier League, the tactical styles of Pochettino, Koeman and Puel, and have a chance to talk about football tactics more generally as well. Feedback welcome as always! 15. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Richard Chaplow and talk through his career highs and lows and how personal tragedy led to him moving to California. Some great reminiscing of our double promotion in here! iTunes: https://t.co/tR1EbXYAgU TuneIn: http://tunein.com/radio/Saints-FC-Podcast-p959333/ Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/saints-fc-podcast Web: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. Hi All, We (John & Tom from the Saints FC Podcast) have recorded and published our 2017-18 season preview episode. No big interview this week, instead we mull over what the new manager will bring, the transfer ins and outs, transfer rumours, players behaving like petulant children under the influence of flashy agents and of course give our predictions on how Saints season will go! You can listen online: saintsfcpod.libsyn.com iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/saints-fc-podcast/id1203625912?mt=2 Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/saints-fc-podcast TuneIn: https://tunein.com/radio/Saints-FC-Podcast-p959333/ As always, please let us know what you think! 24. Hi All, I was lucky enough to chat to Hassan Kachloul earlier this week and have put the recording from our conversation up on the latest Saints FC Podcast: http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com/ We chatted about a whole load of topics and get to the bottom of why he left Saints at the end of his three years at the club. Let me know what you think, and also if your view on Hassan has been changed by listening to the interview. The guy came across really well to me, was very friendly and wouldn't let me draw the interview to a close without telling me how much he loved Southampton! If you're on your iPhone this is the best link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/saints-fc-podcast/id1203625912?mt=2 If you're on any other phone search 'Saints FC Podcast' in your podcasting app and you should find us!
