Thats why I think Gallagher would be a better option that Austin on the bench, He can hold the ball up and relieve a bit of pressure. Or if you must, have them both on the bench and get rid of Davis who will never offer you anything.

It's still a bit early, However I am in the camp that didn't want Hughes to begin with and he has done little to change my mind. All pre-season was effectively wasted by playing 3 centre backs, a system which was dropped 70 mins into the first game. He seems to have no plan of action, no system awareness, no tactical nous, baffling selections and substitutions. Will give him a few more games in the hope he can change things around though.

McCarthy should have done better. Forster would have been berated for that.
