If Saganowski is off as Sky says, then that leaves us very short up front. Just Lambert and Paterson? Hope Pardew has a couple of players in mind, or this could be a very long season.
What about Dietmar Hamann who has been released from Man City? He is looking for a club in England and would certainly be a better bet than Wotton. Or is he out of our reach?
Said the same last week, Thomas and Perry are not up to it IMO. Wotton is a shambles, and our wide players are far too weak. Need to get 5 or 6 players in, otherwise we could be looking at a relegation scrap again.
Even if he did, we were still losing the game so could still have bought on a striker and gone for it. Seem to remember Millwall bringing on a couple of strikers last week against us and not doing too bad afterwards..
It doesn't but you need to win the ball first, to get it wide..!
Wotton is not a ball winner unfortunately, In fact he isn't much of a footballer at all.
Our centre midfield is showing the same complete inefficiency to control a game as they did last season, we have created hardly anything today and have 2 natural goalscorers up front. Its criminal. We need a Ince/Batty type of player immediately.
Confirms what a lot of us have been saying, 3 players needed asap down the spine of the team, a dominant defender, a midfield general and a striker... Hope Pardew has some irons in the fire that he can get the players in this week sometime.
I like the bit when we equalise and it cuts to the reaction on the bench and Big Phil says " What an inspired substitution" , It certainly was Gaffer... Our reaction to the winner seemed rather tame in comparison!
