Stanley is never wrong!
-
Let me say straight away that I know nothing and I can only speculate but, ironically, your proof is actually that you have no proof i.e this time he has kept his mouth firmly shut and his keyboard out of reach. A sharp contrast with last time. For my part I am hugely relieved that ,barring something unexpected, we can now look forward with some confidence. But that does not mean that I despise the efforts of others who were trying to save our club too. I say "You may have lost out but thank you for at least trying. Your efforts were more than many others would have done."

Now I am looking forward to the season! For my part I have fingers crossed and ST cheque poised and waiting.

Interesting comment from a person who has had nothing but an agenda from the start!
-
The whole deal will stand or fall on his approval!!!!! My apologies Alps - I have underestimated you!!
-
And it is quite right - the ball does not hook or slice. It's the guy who hits it who does that! ;-)
-
This board is full of unsavoury comments about all sorts of things and people and, depressingly, I do not think that that will change. You are right of course but I would not hold my breath for the apology.

!!!!!!! So, nothing to do with the players or anything that happened before he took over.
-
Watch it!!! ;-)
-
Fixed it for you ;-)

In my opinion he is better than either of those - its just that a lot of people, as with them, are too wrapped up in opinions formed after a couple of bad games to see it. We will of course let him go and he will demonstrate to us from elsewhere what a good player he is when played in his right position
-
In your clearly not very humble opinion of course.

Did the "Lowe Boycott" Damage the Chances..
St_Tel49 replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Frankly GM I do not believe that there were that many people who boycotted because of Lowe. Numbers dropped because of several years of consistently under performing squads. People like to see their team winning and it is demoralising to turn up week after week to watch yet another match thrown away by a lack of concentration by the defence or another sitter missed by a striker. Quite simply success brings crowds. If the Dutch experiment had worked and we went on a sustained winning run then the crowds would have turned up - Lowe or no Lowe. Stanley would not have been among them but that is his prerogative. I am an STH and, if we have a club next year, I will be again but I can understand why people have gave up. And I don't believe it had that much to do with their feelings about Lowe. -
Surely the question is equally - who would you replace them with if they left? You are also underrating McGoldrick who has got genuine class when played in his right position. As to the point of the thread Wotte is doing what he should do -making the assumption that we will start next season so he cannot sit around waiting to see if we get taken over. Davies is obviously considering a contract but it would be subject to us coming out of administration. If we don't, I suspect neither Kelvin nor anyone else will have contracts and we will have to find something else to do on Saturdays

The same could be said of almost any construction these days.

A considered "No". Under JP we played very good football at times, and it was a pleasure to watch but, ultimately it was not winning football. Wotte made a very good start and I thought that we had turned the corner but what concerns me is that every time there was game that we absolutely had to win, we lost it. It is possible that I am blaming Wotte for a failure in the psyche of the players (who he was not responsible for acquiring) but I feel that the problems that we saw at the start of the season were still there at the end. Don't get me wrong - I actually liked both JP and Wotte for different reasons but I believe that we need a manager familiar with the bear pit that is league one. Boothroyd would be my choice but I am sure others have credentials as well. Ince is one I would NOT consider. My problem with him is that when things went wrong at Blackburn he did not appear to know what to do about it. We have had too much of that recently.

Who said they weren't?
-
No more do I, but the consequences of not paying the players wages will make the 10 point deduction seem like a bonus. Remember Stan - you were the one who wanted to be in this situation.
-
I make no comment for or against Jackson who I do not know except via posts as LLS. Certainly his spelling left a lot to be desired but there is perfectly valid research that has shown the incidence of dyslexia to be much higher in successful businessmen than in the general population. By this I mean to say - do not denigrate him purely on his fairly creative approach to the English language but rather on the logic or otherwise of what he does. I remain to be convinced either way.
-
Out of idle curiosity - by who?
-
I really, really hope that you are right JM but at this second in time I don't have much faith that you are.
-
You had people like Stanley, St Robbie and Alps on here virtually begging for administration purely so they could rid of Lowe. Sadly there seems to be a very real risk that it will get rid of the club as well unless something happens PDQ.
