I cannot generate an awful lot of sympathy for people who get involved in trouble and then have to face the consequences in the cold light of day afterwards. On the other hand, when you see serial offenders for burglary and acts of vandalism and hooliganism let off with repeated warnings, you cannot help feeling that there is a double standard operating here - especially if any of them were first time offenders.

And of course they did all that out of sheer altruism!

Quite easily as it happens if you have loads of work and home things to think about. The postal prompt is a useful reminder that time is passing and you need to get on with it. I haven't renewed yet and just realised that the deadline is not too far away..

Can you name some of these players who you consider better and who would be likely to come? It would be quite a short list in my opinion.

My recollection was that he did not really want to go but was left with little choice. Plus - it was not Lowe who sold him but the administrator in order to keep us going a while longer. We probably got less than he was worth. And to those who seem to be rubbishing him - get real - he was one of our best performers over 3 years. He can do a good job for use at this level and above and if we can sign him cheaply then it seems to be a bargain to me. AP will make the decision, not any of us, but it would not come as a surprise if he did sign him. We need more than 4 midfielders for the season if we are to go for automatic promotion.

We will all question SOME things that ANY manager does. That does not mean they should get the bullet. FWIW I believe this story to be a load of cobblers but if there is any truth in it it would be far from the "measured risk" that trousers referred to.

Just being sensible. I think he will be with us next year but you cannot exclude a big offer coming in for him. I think that Pardew has made him an even better player than he was, got him really fit and interest is inevitable. I think that his comment about loving it at Southampton is sincere but he cannot predict the future any more than the rest of us.

I have voted for Lambert but I do agree with this statement

Harding certainly deserves credit but I am not sure that his contribution can be rated as better than Lallana, Schneiderlin or Davies to name but three. What has been gratifying this year has been the number of people that you actually had to consider if Lambert had not been in the equation.

With respect, I think you are stating the bloody obvious here. SUrely the discussion is only worthwhile if we are talking about the likelihood of it.
