  1. I'm still waiting for evidence. All I read is hearsay and inconclusive stats that could easily be down to other things.
  2. Puell went from managing a team who couldn't convert its numerous chances to a team that could. The manager really was not the issue. Neither was it the manager's fault yesterday. I had no qualms about the team he put out - it was an attacking formation. It was the players who failed dismally. With the honourable exception of Bertram, Austen and Forster the rest just did not turn up. They all allowed them selves to be harried and bullied and finally got the result their efforts deserved. Pelligrini has made mistakes but yesterday was the player's fault. I suspect that that was also true for Puell's reign.
  3. Redmond is a better defender than Boufal and Pelligrino clearly thought that that would be important-rightly in my opinion. The MOTD analysts highlighted a number of weaknesses in Boufal after last week's game. He is a very good player but not yet the complete player that he is capable of being.
  4. No he wasn't - we did not have one woeful player on the pitch. Tadic and Redmond should have been subbed before they were - not because they were poor but because they had worked so hard. Both were forward on the attack and back in defence when Arsenal had the ball - which was often.
  5. I'm against playing the horse - he ends up just hoofing it. OK I'll get my coat!
  6. The main point is that we have quality on the bench as well as on the pitch.
  7. PEH provided the foundation that allowed the rest to happen.
  8. To be fair to him, when he had to stay he continued to play well for us. You could not fault his effort
  9. Sell him to Liverpool and spend the money on a creative midfielder and a striker
  10. When Burnley were relegated they stuck with Dyche. At the time I believed they were right to do so because Dyche seemed to have something about him that made me think that he would get them back up again. They were vindicated in their decision. The question in my mind is if we were relegated (and on current form we need to face up to the possibility) is there anything about MP that would make you feel that he could get us back up again? Speaking personally I can't see it. I was surprised by his appointment because he seemed so like what we had just sacked. I have refrained from joining the pitchfork bearers because a manager needs a fair run before judging him but at the moment I am seeing nothing.
  11. Everyone can have an opinion. That does not necessarily make the opinion valid. Only incontrovertible evidence in support of it can determine that.
  12. It is certainly a persuasive cv
  13. Well,he was heading that way which is why he lost his job!
  14. My condolences to his family. 46 is way too young
  15. He has been out of it for too long now. Things have moved on..
  16. Not to say ad nauseum!
  17. He's been pretty damn good for all the clubs he has played for but I agree - it was primarily for his role on-field in Northern Ireland's recent exploits. But on that basis Michael O'Neil should get a knighthood!!
  18. I am not sure who you are arguing with and why. I stated what I thought club policy was, DoddisALLegend stated who he thought were exceptions. He may be right, he may be wrong - he was simply stating his opinion. I don't think that his use of the word "littered" was intended to be perjorative.
  19. Did he bring them in or were we going to recruit them anyway? I thought that our policy was that we recruited players to suit the system and it was then up to the coaches to coach them i.e. we were getting away from the situation where a manager brought in players that they wanted who might then be rejected by the next manager but are none the less still left on the payroll.
  20. though never let be said that you allow your prejudices to influence your opinion There was nothing wrong with Davis' deliveries.
  21. The game wasn't dull. West Brom were though.

    Koeman

    You answered your own question
  23. Who is to say that they won't anyway?
  24. I can't believe that people on here believe that Forster was responsible for the first goal
