  1. Saints to be first to appoint a female first team coach?
  2. Interesting post and a lot of good points well made. But do you think that if Southgate took your approach that England would have finished better that fourth? To me the French and Belgian teams would have beaten England whatever personnel or tactics they would have adopted.
  3. If that really is the case then the GK coach should be sacked.
  4. He's on a wind up - ignore him.
  5. Win 2 games against mediocre opposition and, according to some fans out there, England are going to win the World Cup. Lose 1 game and , according to some on here, England are sh1te. The truth is that all this game told us was that Belgium B are considerably better that England B. I would be disappointed if England lost to the Columbians. However, I think that defensive weakness will limit their progress mush beyond that.
  6. Why?
  7. Yes we can if someone else offers more.
  8. The problem is that people, without any knowledge of what ACTUALLY happened, spout their own suppositions as to what happened and then go on rant as though their speculation is actually true.
  9. As it happens, I agree
  10. You are supporting his point
  11. Good thinking. Then we could leave each of his alter egos to talk to each other while the rest of us ignore the whole damn thread.

    Cedric

I guess that explains why he has a Euro winners' medal.
  13. ..
  14. Cheerful soul, aren't you.
  15. There was always a high probability that the outcome of the game would be determined by an ex- saints player. We should be proud of that.
  16. If the team manager becomes the main driver behind signings then that worries me. If anything goues wrong we could end up with a bloated squad full of previous managers' signings and be unable to get rid of them. Surely the point of a DoF is to avoid that scenario. Of course the manager should be in agreement with a signing and even make strong suggestions of his own but he should not be the prime driver.
  17. Where did that come from?
  18. I am approaching Codgerhood and I haven't bought a Programme since we moved to St Mary's. Can't see the point - it is much the same every week and it is pricey.
  19. Sorry to read your comment re redundancy. I cannot believe that there is not someone out there who could use your facility with words and technical background. Good luck with the job search.
  20. Isn't that just called an experienced manager? - and if they are any good they are already employed
  21. Swap Micheal O'Neil for Neil Lennon and Alex Neil. Re Graham Potter - I bet you felt the same about Eddie Howe when he was managing in the Championship and whose track record as a manager was one of continuous progress in lower leagues just as Potter's is now. The essential requirement is to have a clear view of how they want to play with the flexibility to recognise when it is not working, the ability to coach the players into that way and tactical nous. If they have got that I don't really care where they are from and what level (within reason) they have coached at.
  22. All clubs have highs and lows. If Saints are his/her local team then of course he/she should be encouraged to support them.
