I'd love to believe that this was true but would he have gone in quite such a disruptive way if that were the case? I cannot see what KL is getting out of this since she has taken almost no interest in the performance of the team since Markus' death. She denies wanting to sell but what exactly is she trying to do?

If the replacement for Shaw is so good then why aren't Man City going for him. And if they were that good then what would you expect to pay - £30m? All seems a bit pointless to me.

Why sell him if we don't need the money and the lad doesn't want to go (and from things that have been said he doesn't want to go)? An adequate replacement for him would probably cost most of that money anyway.

I think that there is more to Lambert than that. If he were to go it would be because he thought that it would be the right thing to do from a footballing perspective. I also believe that that, rather than buckets of cash, is what would motivate Shaw and Lallana
