When he played for us under Pochettino we were the team with 60%+ possession and he still looked a class player. Pochettino wanted to take him to Spurs and, despite his devious behaviour when he left, he is still a class manager, coach and judge of a footballer. I see a lot of people can't still get over Schneiderland's heat of the moment tweet but the fact is that the entire time he played for us he never gave less that 100%.

He loves starting threads and likes to get as much attention as possible.

He has shown that when he is valued he can deliver. He has scored some spectacular goals for Newcastle and scored for England. What the hell more do you want for the quoted £8m

I thought that the goal was a collective failure of the defence. Martina had the touch that put the ball up to be headed but to be fair I thought that the ball came on to him too fast for him to react properly. The City player deserves credit for seeing the gap in the middle and putting himself into it.

If he were that unprofessional I suspect that our recruitment guys would have identified it when scouting him and I very much doubt if we would have gone for him.

This - we have good medical staff so if he has the right rehab and a good pre-season we may see the best of him.
