For a friendly I thought that it was quite an entertaining game. The passing in the first half was dazzling. I thought that JWP was outstanding tonight - Puell seems to have worked some magic already. I actually thought that, even with a team full of youngsters, we matched Espanyol for possession and technical ability, Yoshida looked good - I think that the fast passing game suits him. Cuko (sp?) was steady but did not take anyone on. Romeu - our Wanyana replacement but with goals; Hojberg - our Schneiderlan replacement. Virgil oozes class but we already knew that. I thought that almost all our players had a decent game and formed the opinion that we have a decent squad emerging

To be fair, I think most posters on here would sound pretty boring if they were interviewed in French. Actually I think that the last six words of that sentence were superfluous.

Yeah! Having a dour, depressive attitude is sooo much better. I prefer to dream. You are welcome to your nightmares.

Oh put a sock on it!

Sorry but that is the equivalent of sayiing that because you got five heads in five tosses that the next is most likely to be tails. The chance is still only 50:50

There is no guarantee that ANY approach will continue to work - outside of hurling vast sums of money to get the best manager and buy the best players - and even that is no guarantee as we saw last year.

Plays mainly in the rain?

To be fair I don't think that many in the press were advocating Wiltshire. That was a bee in the Manager's bonnet.

Premier League, EFL & FA introduce new player behaviour rules

I welcome it but both organisations don't have a great record on strict enforcement which is what will be needed -
To me the issue is not about increasing/ decreasing crowds/ revenues. It is about choice. And it has to be safer to stand in a safe standing area than in a seated area.(the Northam!)

As if Les would base his purchases on what we think. He'd be buying 5000 players a season

There is no grass roots momentum - there is merely a re-infiltration of the Labour party by a load of Trots and Militant tendency who paid three quid who make a lot of noise, indulge in systematic intimidation (as they did in the 80s) but don't have an intelligent solution to injustice or how to deal with recession. If Corbyn wins again then Labour are screwed.

Seems fair enough

Define a realist.

Iceland "won" the second half and were not as bad as you are implying - but in response to your question - they didn't - but a lack of planning, inconsistency in approach to each game, wrong selections for the initial squad (let alone each game!) and mental fragility ensured that England beat themselves.
-
Nope - that is not the key question - the key question is how well we spend the money we have. - You can pay a lot of money for relative dross.

Nearly all premiership clubs with the exception of Arsenal keep changing managers. The difference is mostly that the other clubs sack them whereas ours tend to leave for "better things".

It is! I was there for the NI v Ukraine match

Perhaps he is implying that Reed IS Jack Schitt - in which case he definitely is ITK!
-
Yes but that was because we couldn't believe that they would want him

The manager defines the way he wants his teams to play. The manager studies the opposition and identifies their strengths and weaknesses and works out how to deal with it. The manager then selects the team who can deliver the plans he has formulated. There was no real evidence of any of that. As a Northern Irishman I can be a bit more objective and say that I don't believe that there was a lack of heart in the players but there was a definite lack of leadership and lack of clarity in what it was they were trying to do. No - Woy carries the can - along with Hart who has failed dismally as a tournament keeper.

Nathan Redmond Joins on 5 Year Deal - Official

This - too many of our fans think that their opinion is worth a lot more than the tried and tested approach that we have been using for the last few years. -
We are but its success depends on getting the finances right and we have chosen a method of doing that that has been successful so far.
