I’d agree with this. Howe has done better than expected but the money cannot be ignored. TWar has rightly pointed out how new signings in particular have contributed significantly to their upturn and goal contributions. The feel good factor is 100% valid too, they now have positivity and are looking up, almost playing to stay in the team as it climbs. It’s an exciting journey now that players will want to be part of. Howe’s poor start shows either the money was essential or it took him 10 games to get his methods across. Either way they will likely finish above us and given the gap we had, I don’t personally find that acceptable.

It does look like he was injured until the start of this year and he’s lost his place in the meantime. I think I’d be happy to sign him, potential to improve which suits our transfer policy. Not sure we can attract much better with our expected transfer budget (unless our new owners surprise us this summer). I’m sure we would all prefer to sign a keeper like Henderson but with a £40m asking price being thrown around in the papers this week, that’s not our space.

He spent the same amount in January as we sold our club for (yes I know, excluding the debt). We’d spend that in 3/4 seasons? It’s certainly a factor. There’s a direct correlation between that window being open and their points racking up.

I’d say so 😇 35 points would have been enough for survival in the last 5 PL seasons. Hopefully we end up closer to 50 points by seasons end.

Yeah this guy knows his transfers. It’s encouraging we are bidding if we have been in discussions with Chelsea. I doubt we would just randomly be bidding without any encouragement? Perhaps I’m being too optimistic…

Perhaps City have the strongest squad of all time. I don’t remember seeing a team with 2 players in every position that close in ability, their squad depth is disgraceful. Agree that Barca team was absolutely incredible, they are the team that comes to my mind for best ever too. But could they do it on a cold and rainy night in Stoke? 😉

That older bloke in the City Vlog basically described us as Burnley. Anyone can see we were brave in the way we played, especially first half. It’s not like we parked the bus and scored our only shot on target! Another day both teams score more in that game. That was a performance to be proud of, not a performance to suggest we are an anti-footballing side. Why so bitter?

Can see KWP wanting to move on, but hoping we can keep him as he’s been a great signing. It’s a nice problem to have, but I can’t see it being a problem KWP will put up with. He’s not a LB, what happens if/when Small breaks through or If Perraud develops well. Far too good to be a squad player for Saints!

I’d also be happy with a first refusal to Chelsea like the Tino buyback. If we could get 2-3 seasons out of those two we would be very lucky. Adding some more young talents like McAtee for example would be quite exciting. Still not really sure if we can get Broja to stay beyond this season but if we are trying that’s all we can do. Good vibes about the direction we are heading at the moment.

Zaha and Richarlison irritate me greatly. Both are brilliant players but are so petulant, arrogant and love a dive.

I have Albanian friends that have lived in England almost all of their life, but the hatred against Serbia is still full on. I went over to Albania to see them get married, their culture is as patriotic as you can be. Puts us to shame really! Sure their kids are born here now but they all still have family back home and they are all brought up as Albanians, by Albanians that moved here for safety and a better life. When Broja scores we see his eagle celebration every time. Being born in Slough makes no difference at all, any association to Serbia can only worsen our chances of loaning Broja next season IMO. Of course I hope he decides to leave Chelsea and sign for us permanently, but that’s unlikely with or without a Serbian owner.
