Fenerbahce have released their Puma kits for this season. I wonder if we will get a red and white version of their home kit? I’d be happy with that.

Wasn’t it an obligation to buy?

Newcastle and Spurs both interested in Alcaraz. Bella-Kotchap wants a new challenge. KWP in his final year. Sulemana and Onuachu surplus to requirements. Stu gone, Che and Macca going? Perraud to Betis, DCC to Lyon, Lyanco to wherever. You’d hope that would go some way to giving us some freedom in the FFP numbers to bring in a new GK, CB, RB, LB, CDM, AM and CF. 11 out, 7/8 in?

It’s crazy that we kept KWP in the championship and he could now be moving to a club in the top 6. For giving us a year in the championship and playing a big role in our promotion, he would leave with my blessing. Not that I remotely want him to leave. Sugawara seems to be of reasonable calibre, loves a slide tackle and perhaps stronger defensively than KWP. We will miss his close dribbling, it gets us up the pitch so often. Just technically so good.
-
Best chance of getting into the England squad but I’d agree, he’s a top half PL RB for me, I wouldn’t accept playing out of position all season when I can go elsewhere and likely earn more than we can offer. You’d expect our sales pitch to KWP would be building the team around him. He may well have let us know he won’t be signing an extension and then it’s up to us to manage that effectively. Be gutted to lose him though, love him.

KWP replacement?

https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1804948202329940062?s=46&t=7raSKCMt6LV8RJ1C2d39WQ Fabrizio saying ABK is open to a new challenge and has changed his agent.

Plenty of Puma templates on show too (Austria, Czech, Swiss and Serbia) although not stripes. There is a clear base template but also quite a bit of freedom in the designs.
-
Ella Morris the next to leave.

Are we expecting a 1/7 announcement?
-
That would be achievable from just the sale of KWP. I’d prefer to get to that figure from the deadwood mind!
-
GK - Struggling for ideas, a loan of an experienced player not starting or Kelleher? CB - Rodon at £12-£15m seems reasonable. Could keep ABK and avoid spending here. LB - I’m struggling to think of sensible options. Targett return wouldn’t be the worst idea. We have been linked with Aarons again, maybe KWP to LB? CDM - Downes on a perm. Experienced utility player for cover, can Ghodos play there? AM - O’Reilly would have been a perfect option, knows Martin etc but the price seems way too high. Jobe Bellingham also looks to have a high ceiling as an alternative. O’Hare on a free is the cheap option here. We also have Lallana who will likely come off the bench to support this role. LW - Jack Clarke, he looked great until his injury last season. ST - I think Archer (Villa) or Nelson (Arsenal) would be good striker options. Could be a loan opportunity? Surely that’s not impossible if a couple are loans? Some players will move on. Maybe Aarons would replace the outgoing KWP but I hope we find a way to keep him.

Yeah going from Potter to Cooper is a come down for sure. Minus points presents a mountain to climb regardless of their manager, coupled with the expectancy of player sales you’d imagine. I wonder if it will really be -12 though?
-
Decent appointment. Looks like Potter fell through then. I would have thought Cooper would have been on our list to turn to if Martin was struggling this upcoming season (hopefully he excels!). Off the market now.
-
It’s crazy how breaking the rules and taking a points deduction seems to be the best way to compete. What a shambles,
-
Talksport linking us to Cameron Archer. We’ve been linked in previous windows. 4 goals in 29 apps last season for Sheffield United. 11 in 22 in the championship previously for Boro.
-
The question is how well do they fit into our system, or should we be looking to sell to fund players that may suit us better. Alcaraz ball retention isn’t up to Martin’s standards but he does have an xfactor about him. ABK has so many great attributes but is so injury prone. Has his recent shoulder surgery now fixed that. Both present a real gamble if we are to rely on them as starters but they have the potential to be fantastic players IMO. It’s a difficult call but with survival being the aim, perhaps the money would be better spent on lesser gambles.

Where is the Tanswell interview, is this recent?
-
Southampton have enquired about West Ham striker Danny Ings and are willing to offer up to £6m for the 31-year-old [Daily Mail] Is this actually happening?!
-
I remember beating Leeds to his signature, they ended up with Firpo at €15m. Both are valued at €5m now on Transfermarkt and both turned out to be poor signings.
-
Transfer fee was €12m in July 2021.

Russell Martin said: “I’m delighted that we could bring Adam back home to where it all began for him. Adam has the DNA of this club running through him and brings vital experience as we prepare for the Premier League. “We’re going to need everyone to play a part again this coming season and Adam helps us create real depth and know-how in midfield.” [SaintsFC OS]

Another signing that’s resulted in a loss. He isn’t a Martin style player, so better to recoup something and move on. It’s an area we have needed to improve since Bertrand, it’s a shame Targett wasn’t still around when Bertrand was finished. I make the fee 1/4 of what we paid but he has 1/4 of his contract left. Not played hardly for a year, can’t really argue. Side note, Bertrand has retired today. Best LB we’ve had (for a sustained period of time), whilst I’ve been watching us.

Thoughts are with you and your family, Noodles. As a father of two young boys, I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through. RIP Elijah, sounds like he was a true Saint and a top human being.
