If Bournemouth are loaning Mamardashvili, that is one less suitor for Ramsdale. Ajax loan rejected and Arsenal still saying they want a sale but can see a loan happening before the end of the window. Wonder if we are still in the race ‘right now, for that one?

He would be a great signing. However, didn’t Villa technically just buy him back and therefore having transferred him into the PL this window, they can’t then loan out to a PL team in the same window?
-
I may or may not also be interested in any reliable, paid for services that people may or may not be considering using for the upcoming season.

https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/topnews/14119-season-preview-southampton Someone has predicted us to avoid relegation.

Many clubs were sniffing around MOR from the off. Celtic are going to be patient to increase the transfer fee and MOR can evaluate his options for as long as he likes. It’s really not that simple as we just pay the money and get it done. The other parties have a big say in the speed at which the sale happens. We are currently not the most attractive option and patience is required. Look at THB on deadline day last summer, no way we would have signed him any earlier but he became available.

ABK avoided shoulder surgery because he wanted to make that World Cup squad with Germany. That was his only motivation. He’s not worked out, let’s take the small profit and move on. Hopefully a sell on clause in case he does become the player we had hoped elsewhere. Need this money to improve us now.

I wonder if that’s the permanent solution or just using what we have in a different role for the time being. There are still suggestions we could look to bring in someone new, going off Alfie House’s tweets on this subject.

Would be good to get a straight answer on the Wilcox replacement, I know it’s a group effort and Bitcon has stepped in to cover for this window, but going forward what is the plan? What are the conditions where we can justify hiring a direct replacement? We knew Wilcox was going for many months and this window is key to survival, are we taking an unnecessary risk?

1. How many starting players are we looking to sign before now and the end of the window. 2. Given Bazunu’s save percentages etc ranking him bottom of starting keepers for the last 2 seasons and now picking up a big injury, are the club looking to improve this position permanently. Loan with option/obligation would make sense. 3. Is Ross Stewart anywhere near being able to contribute anything to the team or is he done? 4. How much of a role do you expect Lallana to play on the pitch this season. Are we looking to transition him to a coaching role after this season. 5. Is Alcaraz likely to be loaned for further development or do we need to generate funds to improve the starting lineup. Assume the latter. 6. Do we see Wellington as a Saints or Goztepe player for this season/half season? 7. Thoughts on a more pragmatic style being required to be competitive in the premier league, as we did successfully in the playoffs. 8. Why are season ticket and members retail discounts now ‘at certain times in the season’. Do you plan to communicate when they will be?

Not sure how Leicester finish anywhere other than 20th if the expected points deduction lands. Rumoured to be up to as much as 15 points!
-
Pretty sure it was the Athletic that reported Ralph had rejected the opportunity to sign both Olize and Elise whilst manager of Saints.
-
Are Leicester still expected to get hit with this points deduction, all very quiet when it was reportedly nailed on before the season starts due to the PL just waiting for them to return to penalise them?

With O’Riley, it’s just a case of understanding what Celtic will accept and if he wants to come, can we match that? The idea of bidding £25m a week or two ago would not have guaranteed anything. This moving fast concern isn’t valid if we are keeping close to all parties. It will come down to where he wants to go and if we can match the highest fee. All takes time, as we are seeing. It could be that this is one we have moved on from due to the price being too high, as Martin alluded to in his post match interview last night.

Looks like a back three. Agree that tackle was outrageous, lucky to not be injured.
-
I wonder why we are wearing white shorts, but agree they look much better.

Carvalho is a long term target. Tried to sign him when he left Fulham for Liverpool. Tried to sign him when he went on loan last season. I think he would be a decent signing, certainly one of the best players in the championship in the second half of last season. The reason so choosing Hull over us was guaranteed game time. Think we could have offered him plenty as it turned out. My concern is if he wants to be here. Having been rejected at least twice so far for alternatives. Ornstein giving the impression that he might be our O’Riley alternative.

Dibling is a player, very impressive off the bench today. His ability to beat a man without looking like he’s out of second gear is quite impressive. Sam Amo-Ameyaw is currently our best winger too. Dribbles like Edozie but looks like he’s got more of an idea about what to do with it after he beats his man. BBD looks sharp, did all the simple things well. Looking forward to seeing more minutes from him over the remaining friendlies.

We all wanted Russ to find a keeper, but I’m not sure Lucy Pinder is going to save our season.

Borussia Dortmund are looking for €15-20m for Youssoufa Moukoko this summer. Southampton, Girona, Betis , Sevilla, Real Sociedad, FC Villarreal, and Stade Rennes are interested #saintsfc @SkySportDE Youssoufa Moukoko’s agent Patrick Williams has announced his client is planning on leaving Dortmund this summer, “Now we are sounding out interest from England, Spain and France”. #saintsfc [FabrizioRomano]

Signed off the back of being top goalscorer in the Toulon tournament. Think he scored 5 goals and looked to be an exciting young talent. Think football Manager had him down as a potential wonder kid, MLG can confirm. Not worked out at all though, has it. He’s not going to make it at Saints and we are going to end up taking a loss.

Sign a PL quality keeper, please.
