  1. 2 late goals and heartbreak for Cov
  2. Coventry have been very impressive, 1-0 up now through Thomas Asante. Weren't we linked with him this summer?
  3. What’s the main away pub for this one?
  4. Well, this is an improvement on the ‘he will never play football again at a high level’ comments from some posters. Of course it remains to be seen if he can keep fit and how good he is post injury, but it’s encouraging to see him back involved.
  5. Think it’s without an option, just a straight loan.
  6. Ipswich in advanced talks for Reiss Nelson, I would have preferred him to Cornet.
  7. He will make mistakes but he will save us plenty of points over the course of this season. That’s the difference. Bazunu passing it about well but underperforming his expected saves the most in the league 2 seasons running. This isn’t just an upgrade, he’s on another planet to our other keepers.
  8. This is the best signing in years, giving us real hope of survival and if we do survive, a platform to build on to get back to the middle ground of the premier league. It’s difficult to understand how we were the best option for him, it’s not often our signings fit that category. Future England number one? Hats off to the recruitment folks, this is huge. I’m genuinely absolutely buzzing about this. I think i read a stat once that suggested as a general rule, you almost always survive if you concede less than 60 goals a season. Ramsdale gives us the best chance of doing that. You cannot underestimate how important a top goalkeeper is, especially in a relegation battle.
  9. 9:45 then surely? Platform 9 and 3/4s
  10. Announce Hagrid
  11. When is the presser for this, tomorrow morning? I see Brentford have held theirs and confirmed Toney won’t feature against us on Saturday, even if he stays beyond this window.
  12. We would all take Prowsey back, right?
  13. Ramsdale is a long term top goalie, England number two, former Premier League team of the year, still has his peak years ahead of him. I don’t think the £30m obligation is anything other than market value. Saints need to just ensure it’s dependent on survival and have this long term problem position fixed. Feels like a signing we would regret not making.
  14. He’s capable of saving things he shouldn’t, he would earn us more points than he loses. Same cannot be said for our current options. He has been the number 1 for a team finishing 2nd in the league, I think he’s a big upgrade.
  15. Yuki would know him from AZ, probably played together on their right wing?
  16. Was he the guy that was looking lively at the playoff first leg at their place. There was one player that stood out and made the 2 chances they didn’t take, might have been their other winger though?
  17. Trying to do something about our flat performances? 😉
  18. Surprised Russ just said no update on the GK situation, wasn’t Bijlow having his medical yesterday? Just not wanting to comment until it’s done or is there still a chance we do something different, such as Ramsdale? Probably the former.

  20. Strikers that could be available to sign or loan from PL teams, which includes a bit of scraping the barrel: Wood/Awonyi - might fall down pecking order with Pedro coming in? Unlikely to be available. Emmanuel Dennis - did well at Watford Ings - rejected us already this summer Broja - can’t loan from Chelsea Antonio - one last dance? Maupay - Everton fans aren’t his favourites Nkhetia - looks off to Palace Evan Ferguson - injuries/unlikely Stansfield - looked sharp on loan at Brum but not experienced. You can see why we are looking outside the PL. Broja would suit us best but we can’t loan him. I do think Cameron Archer would have been on this list had we not already signed him. He’s a much better player than many posters think, but not the target man we crave.
  21. Just saw a comment from a Brazil journalist that we first made contact with Corinthians for Yuri Alberto on 10th July 2024. So perhaps more of a longer term target than a last minute panic buy. Agree the bloopers videos and the consensus form their fans has Carillo/Lyanco style red flags a plenty. Interesting that he has been called up for Brazil and has previously had a big transfer fee and a few PL teams showing interest. Feels like we are gambling on him realising his early potential, a very SR signing. I’d much rather loan an experienced PL player for this key missing piece.
  22. Moukoko off to Nice, according to Fab. Kepa to Bournemouth, leaving Wolves as Ramsdale’s only remaining PL option.
  23. I wish people would stop referring to O’Riley like he’d have chosen us over Atalanta and Brighton. I’m sure Martin would have combined the budget for 2 players to get his top choice, but sadly we can’t compete with a team chasing top 6 football right now. The mindset that we could have chosen to have him is unrealistic IMO. Has Moukoko gone or been strongly linked to anywhere yet? One we were linked with who might fall into the category of becoming available to teams like us late on in the window? Archer does seem too similar in attributes to what we had already but I do think he has great potential. Hopefully we see him realise that at Saints. Hard to judge him on a couple of cameos off the bench so far. It’s interesting that some players can look immediately effective and although Fernandes didn’t have too many touches on Saturday, I thought he just seemed classy when he did, got a good feeling about him. Dibling also standing out like he did is very encouraging. Bijlow decision probably means wolves get Ramsdale, which is a shame as they look a team we could be fighting with to avoid relegation.
  24. Can’t loan more than one player from another PL club, we already have Lesley, so no can do.
